Re: Review: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (Switch)

I know I'm a few years late, but I had to comment.

I don't so much a have a problem with the score they gave the game as I do the attitude of a lot of individuals in the comments.

There's a lot of Nintendo elitism going around, which I suppose isn't surprising, but it is disappointing.

I love Mario, but all you guys singing it praises while bashing Crash? I'd say your precious 64 aged worse than any of the games in the Crash trilogy. And that line of New Super Mario Brothers games? Nuh-uh. No thanks.

These games are better than those any day of the week.

Acting as if Crash wasn't a big deal back in his prime? Think again.

I'm starting to think there's a bit of bias going around in here... Shocking, I know.

Re: Best Sonic Games Of All Time

@RareFan It doesn't do a single thing to prove that. It suggests that Sonic fans are nostalgia blind, and don't want a series that explores and grows, but rather regurgitates the same thing over and over.

Many of the 3D games work and play wonderfully. You just have to be open to something new.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Name Link When You're Playing A Zelda Game?

TeddyBearSolid

Link is an extension of the player. According to Miyamoto for many years, he was an avatar for the player.

"The player is Link." This is a quote from Hyrule Historian. The main point of Link is to be a vessel for you. He's not a completely blank slate, true, but there's not so much personality there that a bit of you can't shine through.

He's an archetypical hero, a way for you to experience that role. Even in certain games, they'll literally narrate as if YOU are Link.

There's no right or wrong way to do it.

Fun fact, according to Hyrule Historia, Link may not even be their true name. Some of them may be named Link, but it's a place holder, as their true names are lost to time.

Re: Don't Worry, The Klonoa Collection Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch

I am looking forward, yes?

I've heard a lot about the game, and now that they've announced the remaster, I decided to finally try the series. I'm glad to say it's actually fun! It's not super complicated to control, but it demands that you make the best use of the skills available to you, especially as you get further in. Easy to pick up, difficult to master.

I'm really liking it so far! Hope they add a couple of modes, like a boss rush, or something.

Re: Soapbox: Can We Please Retire The Phrase 'Lazy Devs' Already?

TeddyBearSolid

No disrespect, sincerely, but I disagree. We're talking about one of the highest grossing franchises in the entire world. If anyone can afford to run a fine comb through their product, it's the Pokemon Company.

And if they need a bit more time? Delay it. It's been done before.

Say what you will, but someone cut corners, and while I'm not going to waste my time crying about it, like some people who don't seem to have anything else going on in life, I'm also not going to pretend like I'm happy about it.
