Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: Nintendo NX Processor May Be Supplied by AMD

SupremeAllah

Yea I had an Athlon XP, then a Dual core, and now I still am using a Phenom II Quad core because I'm still waiting for the next gen to come out before I upgrade again. Considering it still runs everything out there today without issue, I haven't been in a hurry to move to an 8-core, or one of Intel's offerings.

It always pleased me that AMD processors generally love to be overclocked as well.

Back on the subject of NX speculation, you might find this to be an interesting read in regard to the current gen and how they did things :
http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/171375-reverse-engineered-ps4-apu-reveals-the-consoles-real-cpu-and-gpu-specs

It's just my personal view (and the view of common sense) that if Nintendo is going to release another new system, it should out perform the current ones. Playing catch up to be even with the current offerings, or only slightly exceed them, isn't a good business proposal considering by only making something similar to what the competition has, there's less incentive to buy it. Especially when a lot of people feel burned on the fact that they got Wii U systems that are basically going to be abandoned once the NX arrives.

Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: Nintendo NX Processor May Be Supplied by AMD

@blackice85 It's always been a back and forth game for the top between AMD and Intel. Right now Intel makes the best performing processors, but AMD has previously held the top spot a few times during different generations.

Their main benefit is they are always less expensive than Intel processors are.

The unfortunate thing about this news is that I had heard that they are going to use a CPU/GPU integrated chip which would be terrible since it would immediately imply "underpowered" or at the very most "competitive" with current tech on ps4 and Microsoft. This is Nintendo's chance to get ahead, and if they only play catch up with technology this will be a wasted effort.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Will Be Bigger Than Your Average Castlevania-esque Romp

SupremeAllah

"With 1,600 rooms, the game will be way bigger in scope than Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which featured a total of 942 rooms (not including the inverted castle!)."

That's the trick right there. NOT counting the inverted Castle, which basically was an entirely new experience. That would have been 1884 rooms in the original SoTN if you count that.

Though I'll still be more than happy with this game, I'm sure.

Re: Nintendo Gets Tough With Miiverse Bans, and Some Users Aren't Exactly Pleased

@shani

If you don't get what I'm talking about then you clearly don't play on a 3DS. You can't simply just "add a friend" on Animal crossing for example. You have to meet on the island, exchange your codes, then input the codes, turn the game back on, open your gates, and hopefully the person will come over. Then you can add them as a friend in game. Way more complicated than it really needs to be.

Re: Nintendo Gets Tough With Miiverse Bans, and Some Users Aren't Exactly Pleased

SupremeAllah

Some of the MiiVerse rules are just bizarre.

We all know Nintendo makes it as difficult as possible to make friends outside of people you know in real life.

In animal crossing for example, I made a custom design that has my friend code in it, tell people to visit my dream address (which we are allowed to share) and once they see what I've done, they follow suit, and we are able to get each other's friend codes.

The moderators from what I've seen are just too often removing posts for even a microscopic infraction that really harms no one.

I had seen a post in the Hyrule Warriors forums that someone had posted Cia's massive cleavage. Someone made a comment about a boner which was ok by Miiverse standards apparently, but my comment about the game being rated E for Erection was somehow more offensive than "boner talk" and gets removed. The logic behind some of their actions really is mind boggling.

I had two disconnections. I assume if one person disconnects, everyone disconnects.

If that is the case, I have to ask why some people don't get with the times and use a wired connection. Wireless will always be garbage and unreliable, especially when compared to a wired connection. If I could have a wired connection for my 3DS while I'm at home, I would love to do that, though obviously that isn't an option.

Re: Poll: Is It Time For a Fresh Alternative to the Virtual Console?

SupremeAllah

There is a vast untapped library of games that need to come over. I understand that some of them have licensing issues, like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves for NES. But that game was actually very good!

Secret of Mana needs to make it's way to the WiiU VC, as I hate having to change over to Wii mode to play it. I don't think Secret of Evermore ever made it to the Wii VC either, but it should have, even if it isn't anywhere near as good as Mana was and had lots of bugs to boot.

Re: Animal Crossing Helped This Artist Get Through Her Chemotherapy Treatment

SupremeAllah

@Dolphin64

Yea but her town fruit wasn't cherries, so she had to go chemo.

Though if anyone cares, there is a program called VICE on HBO which just kicked off this season with a new form of cancer treatment, which basically involves infecting the cancer with another disease to kill it. Very interesting stuff. And it is actually being done today. It isn't a treatment, it is basically a cure.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (New Nintendo 3DS)

SupremeAllah

I do want to play this again, but I think I'd rather start a new game + with all the gear and stuff I have from my prior playthrough on the Wii version.

Ideally, I wanted to use Dolphin to play it on PC. The game looks incredible on PC, though Dophin isn't perfect yet and I can't get the configuration for Xenoblade just right yet to make it playable. But those vast enviorments animated on a PC screen look so much better than the Wii version, it isn't funny (and they looked great on the Wii version as it was)

Re: Eiji Aonuma Reveals More Information About the Development of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

SupremeAllah

So the 9th dungeon in the first Zelda, which is Ganons, which is the biggest dungeon in the game...doesn't count because it's Ganons...real smart there, buddy. I didn't count the Wind Fish egg in Link's awakening because it isn't a dungeon.

So it was far more accurate than your childish and incorrect comments. No need to get all mad and start crying.

You are welcome to point out any other imaginary inconsistencies, but it doesn't void the fact that WW and MM only had four real dungeons.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Reveals More Information About the Development of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

SupremeAllah

Memory my friend!

I recently replayed both the original two NES games, so it was fresh in my mind.

Lttp was easy because I remembered 3 pendants, then seven sages, plus ganon's tower.

Same deal with OoT.

I had played Link's awakening many times, and also, 8 instruments.

Same with the other two GB ones, which I also played recently.

Twilight I had to look up because I didn't remember. And I forgot to mention Minish Cap.

Skyward I never beat because my Wii mote sensor couldn't figure out that I was trying to raise my sword over my head, so I gave up.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Reveals More Information About the Development of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

SupremeAllah

The only complaint I have about MM was it's length. Yea you can go on and on about sidequests and all that nonsense, but at the end of the day there were only four dungeons. I felt the same way about Wind Waker. Both were fun, but lacking in meaningful content.

LoZ NES - 9 Dungeons
AoL NES - 7 Dungeons

L's A GB - 8 Dungeons
OoA GB - 9 Dungeons
OoS GB - 9 Dungeons

LttP SNES - 11 Dungeons

OoT N64 - 14 Dungeons

TP - GC/Wii - I don't remember, but there was a lot there.

You get the basic idea. Too short.
