Indeed, as I checked Nintendo HK site, the Chinese words used for the title are ‘秘密展’ which translates to the meaning ‘Secrets Reveal Show/Exhibition’. So there you have it, there could be delightful secrets / surprises to be shared in the Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which Nintendo thinks it justifies the asking price.
@Dogorilla Every mainline Pokemon games since Sun and Moon has been formally translated to Chinese (Traditional), to cater to their official launches in Taiwan and Hong Kong regions, which have sizeable populations and also having their own set of content policies and rating system differing from Mainland China (though they are technically of the same country, but I wont dwell into that). They have also been including Simplified Chinese in these games, to prepare for the launch in Mainland China if ever the government loosen the rules.
Please bring Switch Online service to more regions in the very first place, such as Singapore, Malaysia etc. Nintendo will definitely earn more money by having official eShops there.
Sometimes i think the tracks in Mario Kart Tour are made with move love and care than mainline Mario Kart games… just race around the recent Yoshi’s Island track and you’ll notice how wonderful it is, including the music..
Nintendo can probably dip into their heritage once again for their take on Metaverse: Restart Miiverse 2.0, develop Miitopia 2 game for Miiverse, relaunch Miitomo 2 for smart device interaction, and finally… release Virtual Boy 2 based on Labo VR…
Its so cool.. aside from the complexity of making it.
And for everyone else who wants to save the hassle, and still enjoy similar effect, you may plug the Wii to a Philips Ambilight OLED TV, place it next to a wall, and you’ll have similar RGB effect.
Before the Angry Birds games took off, Rovio also developed the Bounce series of games on Nokia phones, most notably Bounce Boing Voyage on the N-gage 2.0, which is a very good 3D puzzle platformer on its own right. Hope they can revive the near-forgotten IP and maybe do a remake of its past games.
Spoiler alert: The outer space region is intended to be explored in a future unannounced DLC update… called The Hidden Wormhole of Area 51… whereby you can travel all the way to the Sun and Moon and meet the Ultra Beasts of yesteryear…
NiGHTS Journey of Dreams. From the start, many people were critical of the game and it was released next to a big hit Super Mario Galaxy, negatively affecting its sales.
It may not have the same quality and impact as the original NiGHTS game, however, as a direct sequel, it retains many of its charm. The on-foot levels and pacing definitely needed more work, but the main flying stages are a delight to play, accompanied by some of the greatest soundtracks of its time. I hoped a remake can iron out the issues and bring it to a wider audience it deserves.
Contrary to what this article says, Dragalia Lost does not have a healthy and big enough fanbase, and the revenue generated is well below some other Nintendo mobile titles (especially compared to Fire Emblem Heroes), contributing to its closure. A previous NL article shows the sad truth.
2 years later… Sega announces that it will create a subsidiary called Sega Pictures to release movie adaptations from its plethora of IPs, and for a start, by filming new movie adaptations for Seaman and Feel the Magic XX/XY.
Feels like Nintendo wants to follow Sega’s shout from the Genesis era… but i do prefer the Nintendo shout from Tetris Attack, which is more uplifting in tone
Sega will now have an excuse of releasing yet another paid DLC for Sonic Origins, called the Michael Jackson Pack (restoring all original Sonic 3’s music and priced $20 including licensing costs)
If Game Freak wants 65,536 or more versions of Pokemon, they can already do it now… by making the game rougelike (with randomly generated dungeons and characters).
@dkxcalibur so true, in the early 2000s when 2K was under the stewardship of Sega Sports, they published quality NFL and NHL games that gave EA a run for the money.
In 10 years time, the ‘retro looking’ 3D photos and videos from the 3DS camera will captivate photo enthusiast all over again and send 3DS demand soaring… just like what happened to the Gameboy Camera now
“This ran counter to current consumer electronics trends of making screens larger.”
On hindsight, I think Reggie’s belief on this aspect was also one of the main reasons why the smaller New 3DS was not released in US initially, while all other regions released concurrently with the New 3DS XL.
Loved Sonic Advance series and Pinball Party. This is not mentioned enough, but in my opinion the music for the games (created by Sega’s Wave Master) are catchy and top notch, especially for Pinball Party where they managed to faithfully recreate many NiGHTS and Burning Rangers’ music into the weaker GBA hardware.
Yes Nintendo, next step is to release the eshop and Switch online in the SEA region, which will cater to the general audiences who isnt as savvy about setting up a Nintendo account to use a different region’s eshop. And please… no more confusing region-locked consoles in the future (looking at you, 3DS).
In an alternate universe in which Sega stayed on as a console hardware manufacturer, and if Sonic games remain exclusively on Sega consoles, I wonder if it will ever reach a popularity that it enjoys right now by being a multi-platform game.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Piece Of Music In A Nintendo Game?
No mentioned of Advance Wars series? Love the electric guitar of Grit’s theme, and all the other musics having the vibes of a military.
Also, Starfox 1 ending with all the beautiful orchestra like arrangements, which i never expect SNES is capable of that.
