With Nintendo publishing its latest financial report, the company has reshared and updated its list of upcoming releases.
We've had plenty of brand new releases to etch into the calendars over the last period, what with that beefy February Nintendo Direct. The updated schedule includes April's releases, which is why the recently-released Nintendo Switch Sports makes an appearance.
June starts off strong with Mario Strikers: Battle League and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, just two of the games that were announced in February. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (another February announcement!) and Splatoon 3 got new or confirmed release dates in April, and both hitting in the next few months. The recently-announced Pokémon Scarlet and Violet holds on to a 2022 release, as do Bayonetta 3 and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Of course, there have also been a few big delays, the biggest being The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which is now firmly in the 'Spring 2023' window. And joining Metroid Prime 4 in the TBA zone is Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was delayed to an unspecified date earlier this year.
Launch Schedule of Primary Nintendo Products by Region (extracts: April 2022~)

Advance Wars Reboot RIP.
I personally still prefer 3rd party games especially the underrated games as they have more diversity that some of them are matched with my gaming taste.
I don't see any interesting games from major list above except for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet but still my gaming hype on 3rd party games is still bigger than 1st party Nintendo games.
Thought BoTW 2 was now 2023?
Shredders Revenge, Capcom Fighting Collection & Capcom Arcade Stadium 2 are the ones I’m looking forward to most.
Splatoon 3 if it reviews well and of course Bayonetta 3 are both on my radar but I have a feeling Bayonetta 3 might slip to next year.
I’d like to see another big 1st party game announced for this year too as Nintendos release schedule is looking sparse.
Advance Wars isn't going to be released it's going to get cancelled because the Russia Ukraine war is going to last years no point delaying a already completed game for years you just cancel it
Should be renamed Advance Wars 1+2: Booted out of release schedule
Really strong lineup, I'm buying all of the slated releases except for Mario Strikers.
Why does it still say 2022 for BoTW 2
Nintendo is problaby waiting for the Russian war on Ukraine to end to release Advance Wars 1+2Re-Boot Camp, Bayonetta 3 will problaby release in octobre, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 will be a march/april release next year.
"The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (temp.) - 2022"
Not anymore
@KBuckley27 Nintendo is problaby waiting for the Russian war on Ukraine to end to release Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp.
2022 lineup doesn't interest me at all.
Hoping for some cool news in the not-E3 summer broadcast.
@Giancarlothomaz this war is clearly going to last years its not going to end this year or next year so what do you do just delay Advance Wars for years on end?
@Linkin_pork same no BOTW 2 then I don't care about 2022

@UltimateOtaku91 My bad! Slipped through the net. Should definitely be Spring 2023. All fixed now.
To be honest I hope Live A Live being so close to the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 won't mean its sales will be affected too heavily. I want that game to be a success so we can expect more remakes in the future in HD2D.
If that person who got access to Advance Wars early hadn't posted about it on social media they could have played the game for months or even over a year longer than anyone else
Nintendo are being daft because nobody, and I mean nobody is going to be offended by them releasing Advance Wars.
If they're that bothered why not just donate all profits to the Ukraine like Epic did?
Still can't pre-order XC3 collector's edition....
@LXP8 I think some people like to play video games, but others like posting online just a little bit more
Also they don't release Advance Wars, but they do release Fire Emblem Warriors? It's all seems so random to me.
For me this year: Xenoblade Chronciles 3, Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, and Pokémon. Also maybe Nintendo should teach Valve how to count to 3.
I remember thinking that this year would rival 2017, but my opinion is much more tempered now. Really looking forward XBC3 and Bayonetta 3, but I’d like a couple more meaty Autumn titles to really solidify the year. Really not sold on Splatoon 3 or Pokemon Fuschia and Lavender yet.
Good to see Bayo 3 still on track for this year. But does anyone feel we are still missing a heavy-hitting holiday 2022 title?
Speaking of Russian Ukraine war and Advance Wars delay, Nintendo said a few months ago it will suspend sales in Russia. Yet Nintendo Russia website has been updated with new upcoming games including Mario Strikers for Switch. It looks to be business as usual for Nintendo of Russia.
@UltimateOtaku91 Because the work experience lad at NL, who is given the simple articles that require copying and pasting from a PDF, doesn't know how to copy and paste.
Still waiting on that release of Advance Wars, Nintendo.
Was going to hold off on buying until a sale, but now I want it day one because of this delay. Imagine delaying or potentially cancelling a completed game over an unrelated war; one of the dumbest decisions I've seen them make.
@RadioHedgeFund I agree 1000% with you! Well said.
@Browny I also agree with you too.
Excited for FE: Three Hopes, Live A Live, and Xenoblade 3. (Kinda wish there was more of a gap between those last two. But at least the “longer” one comes out second.)

Just give me Advance Wars, ffs
The fact that Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp was delayed in the first place is a travesty (I firmly stand by my conviction that it's far too cartoony and light-hearted a game to ever seriously draw associations with the war in Ukraine). Honestly I can't imagine a Call of Duty, Battlefield, or other "AAA" game being delayed over such an issue, and they're a LOT more graphic. It took decades for Fire Emblem fans to be vindicated, and once again turn-based Strategy gamers just can't catch a break. Here's hoping a surprise (and imminent) release is announced around Nintendo's annual June Direct.
Live Alive
Xenoblade 3
Bayonetta 3
Breath of the Wild 2
Metroid Prime 4
Wow! Excellent weather on the horizon!
@Don It's just the eshop that was suspended.
When will Nintendo officially cancel Advance Wars? Or maybe they'll just leave it TBA for forever like Metroid Prime 4.
Guess I'm not buying any more Switch games until 2023 then, great financial model there Nintendo!
Not a lot here I'm interested in for 2022 besides Strikers. Hoping Nintendo gives us a few remakes this year from Zelda and Metroid to hold us over until the big releases from each in the next couple years.
Does the temp. mean the title is temporary? If so, Metroid Prime 4 is gonna be having a different name. Maybe it's Metroid Prime: (subtitle) without the 4. Or they could be ditching the Prime completely since the story of the titular Metroid Prime monster was concluded.
@shock_trooper
What do you mean forever? You realize they had to start developing Prime 4 from the scratch in 2019. You don't make a game of that scale and expected quality in 3 years. It's completely understandable it's still TBA.
Pokemon Scarlet, Xenoblade 3, and maybe Splatoon 3. Oh and of course MHRise Sunbreak and Hogwarts Legacy. On top of the 6 games I bought so far this year, that could be 7-12 games purchased in one year just for one console, so I'll be pretty set for 2022.
If they are going to wait on humans to stop killing each other with war to release a game, they might as well fold up shop as a company because if history is a guide, sadly humans will always be at war with one another.
@Eddyson Any day now....
rubbing hands together
Outer Wilds was announced in February 2021 as coming in "Summer 2021" but there's no sign yet…
Anyone know what happened to Hollow Knight: Silk Song? There was a big media blitz after a long period of silence, and then... nothing. Is it still a thing?
Nothing for me until a crammed late July; between Live A Live, XC3, and Digimon Survive, I'll have to pick! I'll eventually grab them all anyway.
Still doesn't beat the five releases I was interested in last July though. XD
Only Zelda and Advance Wars are really on my radar atm, which is a shame since it seems we won’t be seeing either for a while. I totally see the appeal of the other titles, don’t get me wrong, but they’re almost all sequels and spin-offs to other games I just haven’t had the time to invest in (the exception here being Splatoon 3, since I love the previous games but still don’t see enough new or different about this one to warrant a buy).
Really looking forward for advance wars, I really hope they release it soon...
and while others will be getting xenoblade chronicles 3 on july 29, i'll be getting digimon survive which i have been waiting for though multiple delays...
Bayonetta and Mario and Rabbids (in the distant future when it goes on sale cheap like the first) for me. Possibly Xeno 3, but I'm not that far into the first one even so that's another down the line buy.
Need to wait more on Pokemon Scarlet to know if it's going to go that awful Arceus route or will be more like, ya know, an actual Pokemon game and not a weird stealth capturing knock off.
Really nothing first party of interest to me. Just keep with the AAA quality ports of slightly older games and I'll be happy.
@Ryan_Again Are you sure your name isn't Tucker and not Ryan with that pro Russian nonsense?
Maybe we can get some more remasters mixed in. I really would love Mario galaxy 2 hd and of course the prime trilogy.
I understand the Advance War delay but unfortunately Russia's war of aggression isn't likely going away anytime soon.
Other war like games and films etc will no doubt be released before it at this stage.
Maybe they could release it and donate some profits to the red Cross etc to help the victims of the conflict
Read the title wrong, at first I thought there games were coming to Windows and I was in aw.
@LXP8
"If that person who got access to Advance Wars early hadn't posted about it on social media they could have played the game for months or even over a year longer than anyone else"
"they"?
I'm looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 which I already preordered. Bayonetta 3, BotW 2 and Metroid Prime 4. Tbh I don't need any more games out of Nintendo this year and the next.
@Mario500 I'm not sure what you mean. I read my comment back and it looks like correct grammar to me. By "they" I meant that person who got the game early.
@LXP8
"I'm not sure what you mean."
(note: questioning of "they" in referencing a single being rather than more than one being)
@Browny They have to pander to the folks who pretend to give a crap about the war in Ukraine. It's trendy to care and post things like "Thoughts and prayers" and "We stand with Ukraine" 😂🤣😆
@RadioHedgeFund LMFAO! Because Nintendo is one of the greediest gaming corporations on Earth. Nintendo fanboys/girls just give it a pass because it's Nintendo. They make so many anti-consumer decisions it's ridiculous.
I'm still working through Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Small chance I'll be finished before XC3 launches, but Live A Live takes precedence for me anyway. Love those HD 2D rpgs.
@Mario500
Well, to answer your question I was using the word "they" as a nominative singular pronoun, so it did make sense within the context of my sentence. I hope that helps.
@LXP8
"I hope that helps".
Yes.
