Put your pre-Christmas diet on hold, folks: Burger King (and its Australian counterpart, Hungry Jack's) has a new bunch of Nintendo toys offered as part of their King Jr. meals. It begs the question: why don't adult meals come with toys, too?
It's not entirely clear what the toys do, exactly, but the range features Link's Awakening, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Maker, Mario Kart, and Splatoon.
Take a look at the toys below, and start planning how to say "it's for my children, who are totally real" to the Burger King servers. Does anyone know how to say that in German?

cries in United States
Mmmm...greasy bits of plastic
The puns that NL throws into the headlines are so much fun!
Cant give you plastic straws but continues to supply these throwaway plastic toys.
Burger King Toys are the main reason why our earth is being destroyed by pollution.
Plastic. Hooray.
Burger King: At least its not McDonalds
Too bad Burger King doesn't have toys anymore in my country.
I thought nintendo partnered with mcdonalds, or is that just the pokemon company that did that?
I don't understand with the hatred of plastic toys here. 🤨
The toys are not thrown away intentionally.
We can keep the toys safely without damaging the environment.
Those tiny ball mazes are like the bottom of the barrel nothing to do. Even as a kid I saw them as a waste of time.
@Anti-Matter It’s not just the toys themselves, although they do somehow end up in our oceans. It’s the emissions from the creation of plastic toys as well, when they could have been made from renewable or recycled materials.
Wow I live in the united states so I'm screwed, even if It was here I would not even go to burger king I don't like there burgers and those toys look bad maybe the builder mario and luigi but the other suck.
@Snatcher @Guyokai Don't worry, these should be releasing early 2021 in the States. The only reason they haven't released earlier is because of Burger King's PS5 promotion.
Could these be lower effort lol
@nessisonett meanwhile if Doom Eternal had a physical version I would have gladly already bought the plastic cartridge in the plastic case and been playing it on my big flat screen television.
Eat like a pauper, play like a king.
@TurboSpork That makes sense.
I remember when they did Wii U toys lol
France too... https://www.burgerking.fr/page/recompenses
I'm honestly relieved these aren't being offered in the United States. I would feel compelled to go to Burger King otherwise.
Mario Kartoffel. Holy ***** how did you even come up with that stuff? I am german and would have never even thought about it.
@Snatcher
That Luigi one also sucks...
Remember when Burger King campaigned to get you to turn in your old plastic toys?
Was that just the UK, did other countries not follow suit?
God bless capitalism.
Look at all the promotion for Fire Emblem, eh Sakurai?
Maybe Burger King is better in those countries, but considering their reputation in America, I'd rather have my brand associated with COVID.
Burger King (branded as Hungry Jacks) is vile in Australia. Although, no doubt these will be collectables
"Das Spielzeug ist für meine Kinder, welche volle Kanne echt sind."
Since you asked how to say it in german Also got a bit creative with phrases to make it sound more plausible.
Neat. I remember liking stuff like this when I was a kid. Didn't realize they still did this.
I actually still have my gold plated Pikachu from the Burger King thing they did like 20ish years ago.
Man, I wish they'd be in the U.S. as well. Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda game, and Mario Maker is one of my favorite and most-played games of all time - I'd love to get those two as collectibles. Ah well.
So why does Nintendo not get McDonalds U.S, the country where McDonalds is arguably the most popular, to have Nintendo themed kids meals?
"Mario Kartoffel" -big lol here, thanks NL!
Good to know that these toys are coming to Burger King in Australia - Burger King doesn't exist down here. I assume it will be coming to "Hungry Jacks", our Australian franchise of Burger King though.
@Yanina Wow, i'm german and didn't even realize it was a pun, just thought Kartoffel was the first thing that came to their mind thinking about Germany hahaha
Definitely gonna want to get me some of those for me and a friend!
Not only these look atrocious, these kind of throwaway toys should be banned clear and simple. Shame on you Nintendo for agreeing to this!
@Yanina I sold my soul to the pun devil a few years ago. Seemed like a good deal.
Finally, living in Germany has benefits besides German Bakeries 😆
They dont do toys yet they continue for plastic staws
