Re: Gallery: These Artistic Recreations of Women Characters Set a Different Tone

SnuggleMon

@DESS-M-8 Sticks and stones, my dear. Don't like what I said, tough luck. I stick to my opinion.

@mjc0961: The problem with this is, everyone sees the skin-tight suit and tries to cover it at best. However, they forget that Samus is wearing a mecha-suit over it, which makes all the stuff useless and would possibly crush her once the armor gets back on. But yeah, waste of breath since they won't listen and only see what they want to see.

@DdFixen: There will always be criticism, whether you like it or not. You can't just put something up and expect that everyone smiles and says "Oh, how lovely", that's not how life works.

Re: Gallery: These Artistic Recreations of Women Characters Set a Different Tone

SnuggleMon

Zero Suit has too much gadgets, that irritates the eye and pulls away from the character herself. And to say Samus was wearing nothing is dumb, otherwise she would be naked or are divers naked as well?

Peach is so OoC, that it hurts. She looks so ugly.

Chun Li... oh boy, where to start. It could be a guy, for all reasons, wearing women clothes and make-up. Sorry, if this is a direct strike, but this is what I see when I look at the picture.

The Great Fairy is okay, even though the lips are a bit too big for my taste. But it comes close to the original.

Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U May Benefit From a Delay, But It Leaves a Blockbuster-Sized Gap

SnuggleMon

It is funny how everyone screams at Nintendo for third party games and that ONLY those games can save Nintendo. But as so many people here already mention, so less third party games are useful. Look at Shadows of Modor, Assassin's Creed and all those CoD games; buggy and flat as a sheet of paper. I agree that the plot of Mario and Zelda are no Oscar Nominees, but at least the gameplay is acceptable. Twilight Princess was a great game, 3D Word brought a new wind since you could play with Peach as character again. The last game was Super Princess Peach and before that SMB2.

Quality over Quantity... and yes, even Nintendo made horrible games here and then, I totally agree with that.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

SnuggleMon

Guys, just because Nintendo wants to polish the game, this is not the end of the world. How many times did we see this? I slowly believe that you somehow are so spoiled that if one developer says "We need a bit more time", you just jump the gun and wished the pest for them. We know that Nintendo makes good and qualitative games (for the most part), but to put a pressure on them because they don't release the game you want right now, is silly and childish.

I mean, there are games coming out almost ever month nowadays and this is seriously not enough for you!? Back in the days, we (or especially me) were happy to have a game per year and those games were bad and buggy, but there was no support like it is nowadays with the internet. You bought it, you stick with it.

And if we talk about third party support, the Wii U is not a desert like some people here said. The Wii U has some support, maybe not the same as Xbox One and PS4, but who gives a damn. Those games made by EA, Ubisoft and friends are the worst and buggiest things I've ever seen and, in the worst cases, get no support for bug fixes like in the case of Batman Origin. If you want this kind of "third party", then you have to go for Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo made a lot of mistakes back in their history... A LOT of dumb decisions, but I know that their games are fairly playable and have some quality standard.

If the lack of third party and waiting time is a problem for you, just leave and go to Sony and Microsoft. It is your choice, but as for some people here and me, we will stick around and wait for the games. Nothing you say will change this.

Re: Preview: We Take Aim at Splatoon to See if It Offers the Best of Both Worlds

@Lord facepalm Are you for real? Just because it has no voice chat, it should go down from an 8 to a 5? You can use Skype for such cases or TeamSpeak. Just because it does not have Voice Chat doesn't mean it makes the game worse. Far from it, it keeps the damn kiddies, who yell and curse all the time, out of the game, which I welcome so damn much. For that, THANK YOU Nintendo.

Re: Iwata: Nintendo NX Will Surprise People And Change Their Video Gaming Lives

SnuggleMon

@Sanya Well, it did for me with the Gamepad and the possibility to play the whole game on it to watch tv or use the pc next to it. Now that is cool.

@mjc0961 Agree, to go after the console sales is dumb. It should be more the fact that the consumer has fun with it instead of sales numbers or how powerful the console is. Back in the days, when Sega and Nintendo had their fight with each other, no one asked for sales numbers.

@JLPick I can imagine a docking station with advanced graphic possibility, that boosts the game and allows it to play on the tv. But no matter what this new console will be, I'm sure people will be amazed of it... and later possibly lament about it, hahaha.

Re: Nintendo Boss Satoru Iwata Warns Not To Hold Your Breath For That Netflix Zelda Series

SnuggleMon

@Sir_JBizzle Yeah, I have to agree that I liked this series when I was young (even though I don't understand why, now that I'm an adult). Still, I'm against real movie adaptations of video games. I just remembered how horrible Resident Evil was. The CG movies were acceptable, but only because they had the original characters and voices for Clair and Leon (at least I guess so).

If they would make a CG for Zelda, sure, I would give it a try but as you mentioned, only if Link is the silent hero because this game go wrong on so many levels... I only say "Excuuuse me Princess"... uhhhh!

Re: Iwata: Nintendo NX Will Surprise People And Change Their Video Gaming Lives

SnuggleMon

@Quorthon You're right that Nintendo was not the first one, I agree. But Sony and Microsoft went after Nintendo and not those companies. I also agree that Iwata made a lot... A LOT of mistakes, but at least he tries to make it good again. Ask yourself, would it help to replace him? The truth is, the damage is done and yes, the Wii U is not the aw-so-perfect-machine as like the Sonic or Microsoft console. Yet people buy it and enjoy it. I think with that in mind, Nintendo did something right somewhere, even though it was a small thing. To be honest, I'm not a fan of graphics but storytelling. Most of the games on PS3 and Xbox 360 were so bland and boring, yet I played them. I know that saving the Princess for the Xth time is not original, but better than a Spartan who searches revenge for being fooled by his gods. But maybe, I'm an old school player, who just isn't into those new and "crazy" games which are on the market nowadays... or at least, not all of them. I never was into COD, Battlefield or how they all been called, but I enjoyed games like Alice: Madness Returns, Prototype and Saints Row. Still, I am a fan of Nintendo in the first place, since next to the Atari 2600, Nintendo was the one, which I enjoyed the most and still do. The GBA, DS and Wii were amazing in my eyes, just like the Wii U with it's gamepad. I've possibly lost the thread of this conversation and digressed a lot, but what I want to say is, people should not jump the gun when Nintendo nowadays announces something. We don't know how people react to this and what it will be. Only time will tell and I love to see that it will be, because for me, Nintendo never failed me so far and I haven't played the Virtual Boy yet, hahahaha.

Have more patience, kids

Re: Iwata: Nintendo NX Will Surprise People And Change Their Video Gaming Lives

SnuggleMon

Wow, people hear Iwata saying that he wants to surprise the player world with something new and already people start to yell foul game at him. The Wii controller and the Wii U gamepad were, in my eyes, great ideas for the gaming world and even Sony tried to go for it by combining the Vita with the PS3/4. I'm pretty sure that the next console will be strong in GRAFIX as many of the people here want, which is sirloin in my eyes, but nevermind... however, Nintendo always found a way to surprise gamers and that is what makes Nintendo so special. NONE... really none other company like Sony or Microsoft had the balls to do this. They looked at Nintendo and copied their ideas for themselves. This is why Nintendo is the true hero of the video gaming industry; because they have the balls to go unorthodox ways and I love them for it. Go Iwata, go Nintendo and show the world what you really want to do. I would love to see a combination of console/hand held/mobile game world, in which you, the player, can go no matter wherever you want and still is connected with the game you like to play. Like this, the main game is on the console, the smartphone give you maps and side games while the hand held would allow you to play the game in a different way or as a device and vice versa.

Re: Mysterious Murasame Castle's Takamaru Was Considered For Super Smash Bros.

SnuggleMon

To be honest, I've never heard about Takamaru before but only that he is an assist chara for Super Smash Bros. Maybe because I've never played Nintendo Land and Samurai Warrior before (or even heard about Samurai Warrior). But the real truth is, that I'm no longer into Samurai things, since I guess I had enough about this kind of genre. Anyway, for the fighter for SSB that is not Nintendo, I would go for Splotion Man or Woman perhaps, because those were cool games

Edit: He was in Pikmin 2?!? Where?

Re: Freedom Planet Bringing Its Brand of Sonic-Style Action to Wii U

SnuggleMon

@Quorthon I disagree. Carol can cling to walls like Joe from Shinobi and can climb up a wall like X in Megaman X.

@Seanmyster6 This is not true at all. It says that you can change between full voice acting, rpg boxes and only action, but only voice acting and full action is giving. Heck, even the updates are not mentioning this change and I played the game before the first patches came out. I know how horrible the voice acting is.
EDIT: I just installed the game once more and, as I said, the option to disable voices is NOT giving. You lied!

@SuperVirtualBoy I really hope you're trolling!

@Lunapplebloom It actually started as a Sonic fan game.

Re: Freedom Planet Bringing Its Brand of Sonic-Style Action to Wii U

SnuggleMon

@GreatPlayer It does, because Lilac has an attack, that is based on the booster attack from Rocket Knight Adventure; her Dragon Boost.

But if you like an interesting review and retrospective look with the first demo,
try fist this YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19uo8ax4Jho

and later this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugHIH16__EU

It is one person's opinion, but he tackles all the problems I mentioned here.
Don't get me wrong, Freedom Planet has great sprite work and music, but that's it. Yes, it is a love letter to Sonic, but seriously... it does not make it better than Sonic like oh so many people say. This kind of comments are idiotic, sorry if this sounds kind of harsh, but it is the truth.

Re: Freedom Planet Bringing Its Brand of Sonic-Style Action to Wii U

SnuggleMon

Uhh... this again? The story sucks, the voice acting is horrible and the physics are a joke. The only thing that this games has together with EARLIER Sonic games is the speed of the dragon chara... that's it. It is almost like the horrible Teen Titan series back in the days, the same lame humor. And yes... I dislike this game.

Re: Sonic Team Boss States That There Are No Plans for the Iconic Franchise to Drop Home Consoles

SnuggleMon

I wish to see Sonic in a new game, but with all those failed games in the past, the expectation is not so strong in this fan. Generation was good, just like the Adventure Series. I liked Advanced and Color, but Lost World and Boom just worried me. 06 was a disaster with a lot of problems, but it had a premise at least, just like Shadow the Hedgehog. What I wish (or better say hope) to see, it Knuckles back to his old self; gullible and stubborn instead of an idiot. No sport taps but keep Amy as she was in Boom; self-confident and grown-up unlike the brainless brat she was earlier. Keep Eggman as villain and please, for the love of the whole damn universe... change Shadow to what he was; a calm anti-hero like in Sonic Riders. The version of him in Boom was so damn generic and stupid... like a carbon-copy out of a bad Hanna Barbera Cartoon.
And, this one is very important... TAKE YOUR TIME WITH IT! Don't rush the damn game or we will see another horrible game like 06 and Boom, where Boom was kind of playable unlike 06.

But yeah, just take your time and stop making experiments like Boom. Just go back from where you came, Sega. It is not worth the risk and you can't risk too much anymore with so many flops.

Re: Club Nintendo in Japan is Full of Delightful Treats

SnuggleMon

The only new thing here in Germany is a Mario hat... that's it. Nothing new, nothing special. Just a dumb polyester Mario hat... You know, I would kill to get one of those downloadable games or other rewards, but since I got myself a Mario Kart 8 shirt lately, I have no stars (the currency at the german Club Nintendo) left. I really hope that whatever will come next, will be better or Nintendo should put CN to rest forever.

Re: Character Art From Forthcoming Disney Wii U Title Emerges Online

SnuggleMon

@MasterBlaster It seems like that I misunderstood your comment as an empty attack against Kaze_Memaryu, sorry for that. In the last days, you hear such arguments a lot and assume equal comments like them. That was an mistake by me.

But about your question if Disney bought one of his concepts, so I doubt this, since Disney is like many companies, who ignore outsider concepts and only take only concepts from within the company. Besides, if Disney would take one of his ideas, they would strip all rights from him without any possibility of getting money or licensing fees.

Re: Character Art From Forthcoming Disney Wii U Title Emerges Online

SnuggleMon

@MasterBlaster Oh, the obligatory argument "I haven't you seeing doing a better game/movie than X / why don't you do a better movie/game". This is not an argument, it is a poor excuse from someone, who has no arguments in the first place against a critique. You see, I understand that Kaze Memaryu dislikes the latest movies from Disney (and yes, most of them like Frozen were stupid and predictable), but if you attack a person with such an argument, you only make a fool out of yourself, because this is the same as to say "Don't like it, don't watch/play it", which is ridiculous because no one knows if something is good or bad without making an opinion of the object in the first place.

Back to topic: This "whatever it will be"... it looks generic, reminds me to so many things like Zelda or WoW. Perhaps a kids game, but this is what I can say at the moment. Without proper info and pictures/video, it is hard to say if it will be good or not. Fact is, however, that it looks pretty generic and somehow boring for me, but maybe that comes from too much fantasy games, comics and stories, which are in most cases, almost the same mixture and boring as hell (I look at you, Dragon Age and Dogma).

I somehow miss Ultima 1, where you could buy next to swords, mazes and chain armors a laser blaster and a shuttle. Now that was innovative =)

Re: Sonic Boom Sales Struggle to Explode as Sega Clarifies Restructuring Plans

SnuggleMon

I hate to say it, but I liked Sonic Boom. Sure, Knuckles and Eggman looked weird, there were a lot of bugs in the game, but like Sonic 06, I gave Boom a chance and... I liked it. But in the end, even I have to admit that Sega made a bold move and landed on their face with this game.

Instead of using new gimmicks, they should have used speed and a good story. To be honest, I like how self-confident Amy was in Boom. She was finally not the damn "Oh Sonic, I'm going to marry you" girl, that really went on my nerves since Adventure. She was finally a useful and adult character.

But yeah, like 06, Boom was a flop and now, Sega has to pay the price. My fear is that this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I honestly don't want to see Sega going down, since I grew up with Atari, Nintendo and Sega. All of them were great companies, but as so often, money changes everything.

Sega really needs a good idea to survive now and a new Sonic Game would be not a great idea, even though Sega did not developed Boom but BigRedButton! I wonder if Sonic Team or at least some of the old team are still around or fired already.

In all... this is very depressive for a Sonic and Sega fan.I really hope that Sega can comeback with something good to save its butt. I really don't want them to vanish.

Re: Developers Outline Their Ideas for Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld

SnuggleMon

If I read some of those devs, I really think they should just go to the Android and OS market place and stay there. Do we really need a handheld that acts like a smartphone when almost everyone has already a smartphone or tablet? Stop mixing together that doesn't belong together, it just don't fit.

As for me, I stick with James Montagna and hope that Nintendo will bring a good handheld just like the 3DS and 2DS (haven't tried the New 3DS, but I guess next to a faster CPU and the second stick, it won't difference a lot). But since I was and still am satisfied with my 3DS so far and with any handheld before (minus the VR Boy, never had the favor to try it), I'm pretty sure that I will be happy with the next gen for sure.

But that's my two coins.

Re: Famitsu Article Reportedly Inks Out More Splatoon Details

SnuggleMon

Bah, who needs community in a fun game. Let Chaos be our host and fun our moderator, this game is not CoD and consort and neither does anyone want to be shouted by a child with the dirtiest words they can come up with. Nintendo, you did a good job with that and if someone has a problem, then follow the solution Yorumi mentioned and make a Skype or Team Speak round-up. Seriously guys and gals, team speak is not really necessary in a video game for which there are smartphones, pcs, laptops and whatever you can come up with.
