Re: Review: Steel Assault - A Quick Bite To Savour With Classic Castlevania Flavour

SmaggTheSmug

@R-A-X Maybe, but I remember a time when people didn't put their first Unity project in a shop with a price tag. And even if this game is as excellent as the review says, the price tag is doing it a disservice. Putting hours into your game will be for naught if no one plays it after all. People compare it to arcade games of old, but it's not the 80s anymore.
Like I said a free game like this could be a good hook for a potential Kickstarter. Or something like a shareware model of old, remember those?

Re: 'Disney Classic Games Collection' Adds Aladdin SNES And "All Versions" Of The Jungle Book

SmaggTheSmug

I hope I'm not expected to pay the Mouse for this additional content. If I am, I'm good with what I have (though The Lion King could also use a final cut like Aladdin got, hands down best part of the package). Those are the things I actually have nostalgia for, as these games were also on PC. Jungle Book I only know through Famicom hacks (I have played that one with a lion instead of Mowgli you could see in a JonTron video).

Re: Random: Waluigi "Invites Himself" To Super Smash Bros. In This Emotional Fan-Made Trailer

SmaggTheSmug

@Silly_G I think Wario and Waluigi have potential as characters for a "twisted" version of a Mario game, kinda like the original WarioLand games. Similar premise when the players need to work together to finish the level, but only one of them can get the bonus at the end, encouraging a last minute backstabbing. Or maybe simply used as minor villains in the Mario or Donkey Kong franchise (taking notes from Mario being the bad guy in Donkey Kong Jr).

Re: Feature: How Accessible Are Zelda, Pokémon And Animal Crossing For Blind Gamers?

SmaggTheSmug

I didn't know Last of Us 2 had a "totally blind" mode, seems to me like one of those options that may seem a bit pointless, but if they managed to pull it off, kudos to them.
I agree that games need a lot more colorblind and vision impaired options though. Lack of text size options or UI scaling is often infuriating (one of the reasons I can't recommend Deep Sky Derelicts). And Pokemon is surely a big enough franchise to afford voice acting? Especially if you're going to make a singing Gym Leader and you already have character voices due to an ongoing anime?

Re: Feature: Which Artist's Work Would You Love To See On A Pokémon Card?

SmaggTheSmug

A big fantasy artist like Larry Elmore, Ralph Horsely or Wayne Reynolds (I know a lot of people dislike him, but IMO he's perfect for fantasy creature pictures; imagine something like D&D4e Monster Manual cover but with a Scyther or one of the dragons).
Sadly H. R. Giger is no longer with us to provide us the most unique and nightmarish pokemon image ever.
And on behalf of my girlfriend I mentioned Gremren (on Instagram and Tik Tok).

Re: Daemon X Machina Is Probably Getting A Sequel, But It's Going To "Take Time"

SmaggTheSmug

Well, the first one looked competent enough though wasn't my cup of tea (though the jump in quality from the first demo to the second was enormous). Getting a sequel with a better budget and more experience under their belt could produce an actual classic in the mini mecha genre. I just wish the damn things didn't actually fly (super jumping and climbing sure, flight is almost always wonky in action games).
