@PharoneTheGnome You must be talking about some other game because 1.) Donkey Kong Bananza isn't open world in any way. It's an open ended sandbox like Super Mario Odyssey. And 2.) nothing about the world and gameplay design is irrelevant or lazy. You can't just smash your way through every single crevice.
@PharoneTheGnome ??? This is objectively wrong my guy. Donkey Kong Bananza is every right a Donkey Kong game and one of the best in the series. The fact that you would proclaim this at all is quite nonsense and bizarre. And you sound like quite the contrarian with just because you think it looks bad, therefore everyone else has to think it's bad and if they don't, then they're shills and/or bad reviewers lol. Get off your high horse.
It's most definitely a Co-op setup similar to Super Mario Odyssey, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, etc. Not actually full multiplayer like Kirby Star Allies, Kirby:Return to Dreamland DX Remake, and basically most of the 2D Mario games.
I'm sorry PJ, but to say that Paper Jam is more visually interesting than Brothership is quite baffling, confusing and mystifying to me. There's objectively nothing about Paper Jam that's visually interesting.
@YunoboCo But this game does have beautiful/striking art direction, especially because it also adheres to the old Mario and Luigi artwork. The visuals and artstyle really pops here.
@Fizza Superstar Saga and to a greater extent Bowser's Inside Story has a good amount of typical, albeit unique variations of those themes. Dream Team as well.
@MarioLinkSamus I personally think it looks good. It makes the characters in particular stand out. It's more akin to Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe Remake than Super Smash Bros 3DS.
@YunoboCo I just can't see how you think it looks just as bad as the Switch Pokemon games when that's not remotely close here(Legends Arceus being the exception since it has a distinct artstyle that I think looks mostly good).
@YunoboCo Yeah no lol. This is completely false. I get the feeling you're either trolling or we're looking at different games here. I'm not sure how you can possibly look at the footage/images we have and think that looks as bad as Pokemon Sword/Shield and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. When it comes to visuals and presentation, Brothership is on a different stratosphere compare to those games, it's not even like 5% comparable.
@YunoboCo Objectively, nothing about this looks like crap amigo and it most certainly isn't remotely close to being as bland as any of the modern Paper Mario games. I don’t see how you came to this conclusion with how good and charming this looks, both visually and artistically.
@Tayrailbridge Not sure what you mean. Visually and artistically, this is the best the series has ever looked. Especially now since the visuals had improved since last time.
@Ryu_Niiyama I'm not really bother, moreso confused by your reaction, especially in regards to this ad. Like I said before, this ad is more cute and wholesome.
@Ryu_Niiyama Are YOU serious? What are you talking about? He has always been in love with Peach. It's one of the sole reasons he kidnaps her 95% of the time. Hell, It's also one of the primary reasons besides conquering the Mushroom Kingdom that he tries to kill Mario. Plus, just because he's loves Peach doesn't mean he's suddenly not a power hungry tyrant lol. He can be both.
@Ryu_Niiyama How is being very infatuated by someone creepy? Nothing about this is creepy, it's more cute and wholesome. This has been one of his traits since his inception
@babel116 My guy, come on now. He would not be allowed to say such a thing, especially if it was true. In fact, he would probably be fired because of this. I mean grant you, it will happen quietly and mostly behind the scenes obviously, but still. I'm not saying he doesn't hold any sway, but he doesn't enforce anything. He just gives his honest opinion about things.
@babel116 Do you think he would be allowed to say this freely if that wasn't the case? Like seriously, we as a community seriously gotta stop this notion that Miyamoto has this iron grip upon the company.
@blindsquarel Agree about the sound effects. Hopefully it's just the setup with NintendoLife. But I disagree about the music, it sounds really good so far.
@scoot @PinderSchloss I have to wonder why is the audio so loud here? There are other gameplay clips that has audio that's completely fine. Also, there is a toggle for the Talking Flowers.
@Paulman4ever I think the new sound effects are really good. It's the general volume that's the issue. It's much too loud, which is odd because there are other footage out there that sounds completely fine. Also, you can turn off the voice for the Talking Flowers(yes that's their name).
@MrGawain The Maker games have not fallen into the same rut and trappings the New series has. Especially since the former serves mostly a completely different from traditional 2D Mario, that being level creator tools.

Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza
@DaGoldenBoo Nah, the lowest this can go I say is between a 90-92. But based on the praise here, it can easily land between a 94-97.
Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza
What is the Verge talking about? There's no pop-in in that game and the visuals are step above what came before.
Re: Rumour: Donkey Kong Bananza May Include A Local Multiplayer Component
It's most definitely a Co-op setup similar to Super Mario Odyssey, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, etc. Not actually full multiplayer like Kirby Star Allies, Kirby:Return to Dreamland DX Remake, and basically most of the 2D Mario games.
Re: Mario Kart World "Paid DLC" Would Be A Big No-No, According To Ex-Nintendo Duo
I'm mostly confident that the DLC will be free updates.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds 'Closed Network Test' Are In
@Banjo- The Mario Kart games are proper racing games. Nothing about them are equivalent to party games.
Re: Feature: Everything You Missed In The Switch 2 Mario Kart Reveal - Characters, Features, Easter Eggs
@Olliemar28 What makes ya'll think it will be cross-gen? That's highly unlikely.
Re: Looks Like Fire Emblem & Paper Mario Dev Intelligent Systems Is Hiring
TTYD on Switch is a remake Alana, not a remaster.
Re: Preview: Mario & Luigi: Brothership - A Couple Of Concerns, But Otherwise Looking Shipshape
I'm sorry PJ, but to say that Paper Jam is more visually interesting than Brothership is quite baffling, confusing and mystifying to me. There's objectively nothing about Paper Jam that's visually interesting.
Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Mario & Luigi: Brothership
@N00BiSH The transition from 3D is nearly perfect here. It very reminiscent of the old artwork AlphaDream used to make. It looks so good.
Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Mario & Luigi: Brothership
@N00BiSH The art direction is immaculate. Very expressive, beautiful, and charming.
Re: New F-Zero 99 Datamine Suggests Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Event Could Be Incoming
@Serpenterror It was remade from the ground up actually, not remastered.
Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Gets Jam-Packed Overview Trailer
@OctolingKing13 I mean Superstars is objectively one of the best Mario Party games in the series. Surprised you got bored with it.
Re: PSA: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Has Reportedly Leaked Online In Full
Nintendo Life, the image that you guys are seeing is from PAX West. The game hasn't leaked.
Re: Gallery: Mario & Luigi: Brothership New Screenshots And Video Released
@YunoboCo The models honestly look really good too. Love how expressive and alive all the characters look.

@fenlix The artstyle looks very good here, especially now that it looks like an upgrade visually compared to the last trailer.
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Reportedly Offers 'Normal' and 'Hero' Difficulty From The Get-Go
@cmbaum I say between a 90-94 metacritic.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2D Platformers
Gavin, I know this is a bit late to say it, but Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe is moreso a remake than a remaster.
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Looks Glorious In New Footage
It's actually a remake @JimNorman. Nintendo confirmed this through of the surveys they sent out.
Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch
@HammerGalladeBro I'm not sure what you mean here. You think there's nothing about the game that warrants the rating?

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Demo Available At Nintendo Switch Kiosks Across the US
@TotalHenshin Unlike NSMBW and NSMBU, the game imo feels just as fun in single player. It doesn't feel like I'm missing out.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Demo Available At Nintendo Switch Kiosks Across the US
@sportvater Nothing about this game resembles NSMB except maybe the physics, which is not an issue considering those games controlled very well.

Re: Video: We've Played Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Here's 8 Minutes Of Gameplay
@MonadoBoy There are other videos without commentary where the sounds are never this distracting, so I'm not sure why it's so pronounced here.

Hey Alana, is the audio usually this loud? Because I swear it was never this loud when I saw other clips. The jump sound in particular is too loud.
Re: Nintendo To Showcase Super Mario Bros. Wonder At EGX (UK)
Hey Ollie, I have a question? Is there a toggle for the volume? I noticed the footage that yall posted not too long ago is a bit high.
