I saw some people online complain that the Switch 2 version's streets are less crowded with NPC's. A reasonable light criticism in a vacuum I guess, but people in that post's comment section really latched onto it as a reason to hate on the port as a whole. Some people just want any excuse they can to rag on Nintendo platforms, I guess.
Never got the chance for a pre-order since Nintendo never emailed me. I live in a small midwestern college town, so I'm banking on getting one from the local Walmart when it opens at 6 AM. That most of the students are gone for the summer is my biggest source of hope
@-wc- Don't pretend the outrage over the Switch 2 is anything more than a loud minority making a fuss online. It's just a subset of gamers being very publicly wrong, again. "Wind Waker is going to ruin Zelda! Aloy should look like a Barbie doll! Celeste having pride flags is an assault on gaming!" Just more nonsense. And a more powerful Switch 2 is going to have a higher price than a Switch. Technical leaps between consoles are smaller than ever. Innovation doesn't bring as much cost efficiency as it used to. Better hardware, bigger price. That's our reality now.
Complaints about the Switch 2's price are insane. $300 in 2017 is about $400 today, and the Switch 2 is much more powerful than its predecessor. Gamers' insistence on ignoring the basic economic reality of inflation is incredibly frustrating.
@CheapCheepBeach The Series S (and X) are sold at a loss. Pretty sure PS does the same. Nintendo prefers to profit off of their hardware in addition to their software rather than making up lost profit in software sales. That can definitely be worth criticizing, but keep in mind the Series S is only so cheap because it's meant to be an attractive profit loss. Additionally (though I know less about this), the Switch 2's more compact form factor likely contributes as well.
Not quite ready for another RPG grind so I'll be putting off Xenoblade X for a few more weeks. Rivals of Aether 2 is scratching my plat-fighter itch in the meantime.
After finishing Xenoblade 3, I've been going back and forth between Mario Golf Advance Tour (on the Anbernic RG34XX, which is super cool!) and Rivals of Aether 2 (Clairen main and looking forward to Olympia's release!)
I should be finishing up Xenoblade 3! It's been a great game up through the very end, and I'm getting a little tired of the length lol. Gonna take a break from big RPG's with something smaller next!
Chikorita for me because: 1. Cute lil guy who evolves into silly dinosaur friend 2. Chikorita's line needs the representation 3. I'm hoping Mega Meganium is actually good
@Solomon_Rambling At least for me, the key to consistently playing RPG's is taking breaks. After finishing a long game like that, I spend at least a couple weeks playing a game from a different genre or playing no games at all. Gotta rest up the brain between long adventures
They're short games so I don't know how I got burnt out on them, but I stopped playing two zones into Sonic Advance 3 last weekend. I'll finish the trilogy eventually. My new game for the next month or more is Xenoblade 3, which I'm 10 hours into. And boy what a ride so far!
Went through Sonic Advance last night and should be done with 2 and 3 by the end of the weekend! Boy they sure do like their spikes, crushes, and pitfalls.

Got a notification on June 4th from my PS app that I could save $100 on a PS5 with a PS4 trade-in.

Re: Mailbox: Switch 2 Price Drops, Remake Replacements, Pokémon Acquisitions - Nintendo Life Letters
@YAT What are you talking about? The Switch 2 has been $450 ever since its full announcement. That hasn't changed. There is no "$20 price increase"

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"
Seems like a good price, especially considering the inflation since the original Switch's launch.
Re: Talking Point: What Would Be The Ideal Way To Play DS Games On 'Switch 2'?
Allowing users to decide between Dominus-style layouts and TATE mode with an extra accessory seems best to me
