Re: Weirdness: This Real-life Majora's Mask Is Incredible

It's so amazing that it truly is breath taking! What an incredible job! It only critique I would perhaps offer would be to inquire why he didn't include an awesome, cracked, worn leather strap for the back of the mask. It doesn't really matter I suppose. I'd have it on my wall starring back at me and whispering inspiration.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins and Blackgate Delayed in Europe

It's a conspiracy. Sony and Microsoft are secretly paying studios money to sabatage Nintendo's 3rd party games. Then when they don't sell well, there's data to show that third party games don't sell with Nintendo. At least that's my tin foil hat musing for the day.

Re: Video: Level-5's Wii U RPG Wonder Flick Gets A Gameplay-Laden Trailer

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like perhaps you can level up your characters via smartphone. What a great idea. The problem with many RPGs for me
Is that I just do not have the time to sit and grind levels in my living room. A little leveling up on the go is a great idea! (Unless of course I misinterpreted the iphone in the trailer).

Re: Nintendo's Former President, Hiroshi Yamauchi, Has Passed Away

Shworange

Wow! He took the company over as president at the age of 21?! That is amazing. Imagine all of the changes he saw in his lifetime. Going from cards to toys to little electronic games to a massive world wide video game and cultural phenomenon. What a life!

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

Damien, I'm entirely in the same boat as you. I am 31. I'm married and have three small children. I had a remarkably similar discussion with a coworker yesterday. He was pumped for GTA5 and thought for sure that I would share in his enthusiasm. I categorically did not. I logged in around 20 hours with GTA4 and felt uneasy while playing it. It just did not fit who I was. It's like trying to maintain understanding for Walter White in Breaking Bad. I really just want to see the guy caught at this point. I of course may sound like "Grandpa Shworange" here, but what happened to playing games as an escape. In a world where the bad guys can and do win, it's nice to complete a game where good triumphs and a whole family can rally around. I just finished Super Metroid the other day. My kids would watch me explore the vast planet and would cheer after a boss' defeat. I've been watching my kids explore the world of Pikmin 3 and have been guiding them with helpful tips. It really is a great bonding experience.
While I would never advocate censorship, I will whole heatedly vote "no" with my wallet on this one and any further installment in the series. It may be fruitless, but it just goes against what I'm trying to teach my boys. The Wind Waker on the other hand will be snapped up day one.

Re: Nintendo Cleared in Wii Patent Dispute With Creative Kingdoms

Ha! You have to be freaking kidding me! This company owns Magiquest! They're this really crappy game in which you buy a wand that hardly works and you have to run up and down three floors completing fetch quests. It would be okay in theory, but the freaking wand never works!!!!! Half your time is spent shaking your wand vigorously trying to get the small infrared sensor at the tip of your wand to register anything! If the Wii had that big of a problem, no one would have played it. Next time I go to the Great Wolf Lodge, I'll just skip those patent troll low life's attraction.
