Re: PSA: My Nintendo Store Switch 2 Invites Are Starting To Roll Out

@TwinFami I hear ya. I started another playthrough of TotK the week before the Direct, not knowing that there would be such a playtime requirement. So even if Nintendo excluded the hundreds of hours I have for all of the Zelda games on Switch, the hours I had put in just that week prior should qualify me. The NES came out when I was in high school, but my earliest Nintendo game was Donkey Kong on the ColecoVision !!!

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Will iikely only be purchasing Zelda games for my Switch 2. I've already passed on ALL of the overpriced first party games that have come out since Echoes of Wisdom. I will not be buying the new Donkey Kong game or any of the 3rd party titles - especially the game key card games. I may even pass on the upcoming Mario 3D game whenever that may come out. I was actually not a big fan of Odyssey and only played Wonder once. So even my Mario days may be over. So my Switch 2 will likely only be used for Switch 1 titles and future Zelda games going forward.

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

So I have my original day one Switch ... probably a bit too much sentimental value attached to that - joy-con drift and all. I currently use my day one OLED Switch ... which ironically I primarily use in docked mode - but I'm not getting rid of that. And then I have a day-one gold Switch Lite - still in box ... and ain't no way I am getting rid of that. The GameStop trade in values seem to have actual value for a change. But I pre-ordered my Switch 2 on Walmart. And the nearest GameStop for me is a half hour away since my local GS did not survive the pandemic. So Imma keep what I got and shell out the coin for the shiny, new Switch. ... Now gimme my YuNopeBo amiibo !!!

I played the original ... and the sequel. I'm good. Hard pass - especially as a Game-Key Card game. Unfortunately, my suspicion is Square Enix is laying the groundwork for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to be released on a Game-Key Card as well. Not to mention any planned re-release of the unplayable cloud versions of the KH trilogy on the original Switch.

Re: Most US amiibo Pre-Orders Have Gone Live, But Someone's Still Missing

@Ryu_Niiyama No worries and apologies for being nitpicky. The Champions amiibo tied into the DLC because it was titled the Champions' Ballad DLC after all. And we got the Champions' helms as item drops with those amiibo. We're not getting a Sages' Ballad DLC for TotK nor as far as I know any of the Sages' helms although that remains to be seen - but the Champions' helms are in TotK if you know where to find them.
And I would think Sage amiibo would have been better served to drive interest in TotK two years ago or interest in AoI closer to that game's release - along with the Mineru amiibo. I am no marketing expert. This just does not make any sense either way. And the tariffs are not going to help sales except for the die-hard collectors who will now only die a little harder. Just not great timing made even worse with the extra cost. But this is just my opinion.

Re: Most US amiibo Pre-Orders Have Gone Live, But Someone's Still Missing

@Ryu_Niiyama Oh I am sure they will ... as all of the Zelda amiibo could be scanned for items and weapons in Age of Calamity. But AoC did not get its own amiibo - how cool would it have been to have a Master Kohga or Sooga or a Terrako amiibo ??!! ... Nintendo did not wait a full 2 years to release a Guardian amiibo for BotW and yet they have chosen to wait two years for this new batch. I'm sure the new amiibo will drop items and weapons in Age of Imprisonment, but again ... why wait two years ? I know I'm being nit picky ... but the TotK Link and Zelda amiibo were 14.99 bucks and Ganondorf was 19.99 The latter two were released 4 or 5 months after TotK although I believe they had already been announced or at least data miners had already found their paraglider fabrics before they were released. So Nintendo is now waiting two years to drop this new batch to charge 19.99 for each of them even before they applied the Trump Tax ? And I'm sure the Mineru amiibo will start at $ 24.99 pre-tariff, just as it was for the Zelda Loftwing amiibo and possibly be as much as $ 29.99 pre-tariff. And the new Sage amiibo are being dropped possibly months before AoI is released. It just does not make any sense to me if they are indeed for AoI and yet still have the same functionality for TotK - which will require a patch so I can kiss my pre-patch duplication glitch for TotK goodbye. LOL

@ParsnipHero Now why on earth would Nintendo do something as consumer friendly as that ? Granted they created amiibo cards for Animal Crossing, but I doubt they would even consider this for Zelda or any other franchise. It would certainly be a great idea for amiibo that are long out of print - but nowadays they insist on re-releases of some of the figures instead. I was fortunate enough to start collecting Zelda amiibo even before BotW was released, so I had the full set when the game came out and didn't have to scramble for any of the previous figures. I have continued to collect the Zelda amiibo that have been released since then, but honestly I am very surprised they are releasing these new amiibo two full years after TotK was released.
