Re: Feature: A Summary of Nintendo's Key Announcements on NX, E3 and Mobile

Reusinck

I'm only half interested in the NX news, it comes when it comes, curious to see how and what, but the release date is the most important info about it, so thats good news.

I'm not interested by the E3 news since i won't be there, so i wont be playing anything anyway (they could still SHOW gameplay/news of other games, and that's what Im interested in). So this isn't really saying something unless your actually attending E3.

Will not be playing on mobile, so i'll skip that news. Only thing that bugs me is that between the lines is seems to state that WiiU will not be getting much more, but i could be wrong...

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U Will Be The Only Playable Nintendo Game at E3

Reusinck

I was quite hyped in 2014, but now i've really lost interest in this game, since all info Nintendo gives turned out wrong or really vague. At this point, i'm assuming Zelda will be released in 2020 or something, and will in no way deliver (like star fox, tennis, party, animal crossing). I've lost faith that Nintendo will produce anything noteworthy for WiiU if they don't have ANYTHING to show. hope im wrong.

Re: Mahi Mahi Resort Map Arrives in Splatoon on 3rd December

Reusinck

Whoa. Bad timing with xcx! I only dislike hammerhead bridge, rest of the maps are great.love the dynamic element. Camp t3iggerfish also has this sudden new tactic at the minute mark which i really enjoy. Then again if ill get my new job ill probably wont be able to play much.....

Re: Editorial: It's Not Fun to Criticise Nintendo Games, But It's Been Unavoidable in 2015

Reusinck

Its internet: everyone wants to have an opinion and since you cant be personal, people pretend a lot and shout a lot. also, there are some really dumb people online, like, shockingly dumb. So i tend to not participate in review discussions and just enjoy the review as a text, not an advice or proof of something.

Only bad thing about this year is the low output. Wasnt interested in buying the tennis or the amiibo board game in the first place, so thats ok. Devils third is the only let down for me.

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Super Metroid

Reusinck

Super Metroid is one of the most fun games I played on the WiiU VC. Tried to finish it without any online help, which I did -eventually-. Later found out I was missing multiple upgrades, so I immediatly played it again. Love the way the player needs to find out everything for her-/himself. That makes is a very personal experience.

A moody, detailed classic that's aged very, very well IMO...

Re: Poll: The Tricky Issue of Retail Games as Download-Only Releases

Reusinck

I tend to not buy anything digital except VC's and some indies because

  • I can't sell digital copies
  • I cant buy secondhand digital copies
  • I can't show people cases when choosing a game to play
  • I Need to add stuff to my wiiU in order to make it work
  • Digital isn't faster/safer to use at all (or at least not notable to me)
  • Cant buy when not online/I prefer wandering around in a gameshop before buying.

And last but definitly not least,

  • Digital games are, for reason's completely beyond me, MORE expensive than physical copies, even though you factually get less! god knows why, but it is)

I don't see any advantages to buying digital whatsoever except for VC's.

Re: Negative Reception For Devil's Third Is Due To Poor Player Skill, Claims Tomonobu Itagaki

Reusinck

Don't get me wrong, I love reading articles and reviews on this site. Also, i found the hands-on article about Devil's Third insightful,

but
"Games journalism isn’t journalism. Games journalism is a neglected johnny-come-lately subset of entertainment journalism, which is also—with a few honorable exceptions—not journalism. Because entertainment journalism is a field where all of the money and all of the power lies in the hands of companies selling products, where the only thing to “cover” is the products being sold, where the target audience of the publication is defined by their pre-existing desire to purchase the product, and thus the border between advertising and “journalism” can’t help but be blurred." - Arthur Chu

So i gues both parties are getting a bit childish now. I'll just wait untill the game releases.

Re: Obituary: Satoru Iwata

Reusinck

"Video games are meant to be just one thing. Fun. Fun for everyone!"

  • Satoru Iwata

That quote, by the man who created Kirby, the wii, the DS, earthbound. He nailed it, lived by it, and inspired me with it.

Iwata-san, somehow, you're still around; Everyone can now just press start to have fun. I thank you for that.

Re: The Animal Crossing amiibo Range is Bigger Than We Thought

Reusinck

@JaxonH
hi jaxonH. Thx for your reply. You must have misread my post. Im not saying companies are doing this on purpose. Also, yes i DO think its a benefitial thing to do. Its not a conspiracy but a well known marketing strategy, nothing new, esspecially with collectibles. Those numbers also do t mean anything to me on their own. I'd need full financial insight to state anything about that, those arent publicly available.

Im glad to sense that you were able to find all amiibo's you sought.

Re: The Animal Crossing amiibo Range is Bigger Than We Thought

Reusinck

They're Having so much problems with keeping up the current amiibo's and are Lying about not doing this on purpose. I mean, i believed them until they started repeating the exact same thing(which was 1 day later). I cannot believe a 125 year old game/toy company can't mass produce toys they invented themselves for more than 1 whole year. Sounds like an unreliable company to me.

Re: Talking Point: E3 Highlighted Nintendo's Development Shift Towards NX, and Away from Wii U

Reusinck

Great article. One cannot deny that some weird choices have been made by Nintendo regarding the marketing of the console. Star Fox for instance, looks like it's 10 years old! And there are still quite a number of people who dont know the difference between a wii and a wiiU. Then there is the 3rd party issue. such weird choices..

That being said, I still think the WiiU is the console I had the most fun with. I love the gamepad to play offscreen, and since I haven't had all Nintendo consoles, the VC is awesome and I've discovered some true gems there (Metroid series!). I hope Nintendo puts a lot of effort in releasing vc's and Indies on the WiiU if it's truly coming to an end.

My WiiU is faaaaaaaar from being replaced.

Re: Metroid Prime Producer Wants to Make Another Sequel With Samus, "Not Involved" in 2D Titles By Yoshio Sakamoto

Reusinck

Wasn't expecting a Metroid, so not let down about THAT. The problem is that they release something that's obviously NOT a Metroid game, and then just state it is. Next they release an animal crossing game that not an actual AC game, next they release a Zelda game that is NOT an actual Zelda game.

Next, Reggie smiles at the camera and says how carefull they are about their IP's and shows us how Bowser and Donkey Kong are now Skylanders.

That's my problem. seems like Nintendo is selling out HARD and as a Nintendo fan I find that worrying.

Re: Feature: What We Expect from Nintendo's E3 Digital Event

Reusinck

New Metroid, hopefully 2D. Hopefully more Indies that will still come to WiiU such as Ori and the Blind Forest, Octodad etc. New Mario (platform)games are always welcome though that seems unlikely, since Super Mario Maker basically is just that. Mk8DLC would also excite me. Devils Third, hopefully some weird surprise no one expected..

yeah, quite excited for their digital event...

Re: There's Another New Weapon Coming To Splatoon Today

Reusinck

@theberrage
It never will, so best thing to do is write a letter to Nintendo asking it they can sell it to you for less or stop waiting.

@outburst My thoughts exactly, I dont think any weapon will have main/sub/special as usefull as the Splattershot Jr (in turf war that is).

Re: Guide: Use these Splatoon Tricks & Advanced Techniques to Improve your Inking

Reusinck

Tip: match your gear! Some perks work great with some weapons but are useless on other weapons: walkingspeed on rollers, Damage on high RoF guns for example (damage ups per "bullet" so technically damageboost have more effect on high rate-of-fire weapons). The other way around won't have as much impact.
Also: paintbrush + opening gambit + messaging "follow me" = insane in ranked mode. Or at least using each others ink to be speedier.

Re: Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition Will Not Be Available For Wii U

Reusinck

@KillScottKill
I dont like being told to screw off. Knowing it comes from someone who buy a game twice because he wants his doll makes it less hurtfull though. Knowing it comes from someone who gave money away without ANY garantee what will happen to the product OR the money, makes it even a little funny.

You should be happy, because you're getting a game twice for only double the price!

Re: Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition Will Not Be Available For Wii U

Reusinck

@KillScottKill
You (assuming you've backed up the game) havent made "it happen". you just paid someone elses marketing campain. Also, you choose to buy something twice, your not entitled to it, read Kickstarters rules for more info about that. I only pay for things that actually exist, Or i would be an investor who actually DOES have something to say about the game instead of just throwing money at random people like kickstarter projects.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th June (Europe)

Reusinck

@outburst
You do know that you cannot use your MP gear in campain and that finishing the campain unlocks weapons you CAN use in MP? Best to finish the campain early so you have better gear in MP.

Re: Editorial: The eShop's Pricing Dilemma is the Fault of Many, But Damages Creativity and Risk Taking

Reusinck

Hey, we just spend 4 years on this game , so better make sure to price those 4 years instead of what a consumer is actually willing to pay...

Yeah of course that goes wrong, no one to blame but yourself. Blaming consumers is just BS. Get your business strategy straight and make something worth the consumers money instead of whining about "the industry".

Example:
2 Indie games like S&S2 (digital, so no trading/returning/lending/showing off/selling/no quality garantee) or 1 Nintendogame (will have a good reselling price, different sellers, so competition --> better prices, will sell fast/ slim chance of you actually wanting to sell it)? How does it NOT make sense that your game will sell bad?!

Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 Available to Download Right Now

Reusinck

@Kaze_Memaryu
I like how you call one of the most critically acclaimed DLC's "a complete trainwreck" and are "fully aware" you're offending people, but are still "disappointed" that people do this on a forum that reminds you "an awful lot of DA".

As cherry on the cake, your "self-knowledge on how you to express critical thoughts and are not willing to change" must make it a wonderful experience to post anyway!

Sad to hear you don't like the DLC hehehe. No seriously.
