Even if I wanted to fill it out again I can't, it's already ended. Feels like very little time to be notified of a survey before it's over. Was this announced anywhere else well before it started?
I wonder if it will manage to get up near Detective Pikachu. I was surprised to see Pikachu did over $430 million. Sonic will probably struggle to surpass $400 million, but still good to see video game movies improving. Though admittedly it wouldn't be that hard, considering some of those video game movies, lol. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Need for Speed, Bloodrayne, House of the Dead make the live action Super Mario movie look quite good by comparison, lol
@Matty1988 This. Amazing how people in the comments have apparently already decided guilt with little to no information. Situations like this should see both parties as innocent until guilt, if any, is proven, and not the other way around.
@Erigen First two? I'm hoping for at least the first three! Escape from Monkey Island wasn't too bad etiher, but it was definitely a downturn, which seems to happen when they take the point-and-click out of point-and-click games, and the writing wasn't quite on par, at least in my opinion
I'll be honest, I had forgotten it was a thing. Been awhile since I've heard about it and I only had the problem on one of my four joycons. It's been fine in the 3 years since Nintendo fixed it for free, and it took less than a week to get back. But that's only me, obviously everyone will have different experiences with it.
This headline does scream of parents using their children to get rich quick though.
Art style reminds me more of Don Bluth's style than disney. Regardless, it looks really nice here! yes, I know Don Bluth did work at disney for awhile, but his style is definitely his own
@E-Man Lol, I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't imagine a more disastrous attempt at a relaunch. More people will hear the announcement on popular youtuber channels and websites like this than will on that stream, especially considering the time it will be broadcast.
I've played this a little on Game Pass on PC, and I feel there's some fine tuning still needed. I have an AMD Ryzen 9 with an rtx 3060 and 24 GB ram and kept running into weird slowdown here and there no matter what settings I had it set to. Hasn't diminished my love of the game, but would still be nice to play without those issues
@Zenszulu r/wooosh! Ah, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist! I'm guessing you haven't heard of the Honey app/add on for web browsers? It's designed to automatically search for coupons/lower prices of goods you order through places like Amazon. I see it advertised frequently, so I couldn't help but make a joke about this add on being called Honey not only adds a campaign, but also somehow searches for the best deals online. Just a simple joke.
That's pretty cool. Honestly, if all presenters were the at least the same caliber as Reggie I might watch one of these, but I don't waste time on overlong, pointless award shows, no matter what it's for. Give me the 5 minutes (if that) of highlights and I'm good. I'll spend the time on better, more productive activities
I like this guy, but why have guests who have nothing to do with video games at a video games award show? They're learning nothing from the past few years
I'm seeing reviews saying that even PC and PS5 versions of this are suffering from stuttering and framerate issues, among other things, when trying to run.
This is sounding like a classic case of a rushed development, most likely for the holiday season, and the publisher thinks any problems can be quickly patched out. Though I want to emphasize this is just my opinion.
Always love reading comments on how people are experts on how projects like these "Damage" or "Actually would help". As far as I'm concerned, neither side is winning and only burying themselves deeper in their dumb self righteousness
A great game with 'dated' graphics is far better than a bland, forgettable game with great graphics.
I was first intrigued by the trailer, but as it went on I quickly grew bored. Nothing was particularly memorable or unique about it, almost like Ubisoft quickly threw in some monster collecting into one of their open world games and not much else. And for as long as the trailer was, I have little idea what the mechanics are. Is there a point to going around on a waverunner? How do you catch monsters? Why do you catch monsters? How do the battles work? Is there exploration, or just a big, bland, familiar world to walk around in?
I haven't played pokemon since Sun, though I am tempted to play Sword, and I am interested in the upcoming remakes and Arceus. The worlds still look and feel unique to me from what I've seen, as do the monsters, which I think has always been a major strength of the series.
My opinion of this Dokev game may change once we actually learn what the mechanics of the gameplay are and how the game flows, but right now I don't see anything but a pretty coat of paint.
If all we care about is how good a games graphics are, why even bother with gameplay at all?
I imagine trying to get nba jam, as well star wars, Shadowrun and TMNT games, on the service would be an absolute nightmare with all the licensing involved
I recently ordered The Silver Case Deluxe which came with The Silver Case and The 25th Ward on one game card, music on a CD, and a physical artbook. It feels so good to be able to hold them in my hand, rather than simply download them
@1ofUs Eh, better choice would have been something like Bayonetta 3. At least we got a good teaser with BOTW 2, and who knows how much the covid lockdowns affected development time on that game. That Sonic teaser was like announcing a new Mario Bros. game and only showing Mario's hat as he jumped into a question block before fading to black. Hopefully it will finally be good Sonic game though!
@jodudeit You're comparing Nintendo of America's statement and stance from nearly 28 years ago to how they are now? Why? And they allowed full gore and blood in Mortal Kombat 2 when it released on the Super Nintendo. Honestly, your comment would make a lot more sense if it was made in 1994
Something I'll definitely put on my wishlist, but I do agree the price feels a bit high. I wonder how much the licensing for Forgotten Realms plays in that
"Although Pikachu's movie debut was a box office success, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie had no issues outpacing it."
But Detective Pikachu made $433 million globally, while Sonic did $319 million... Sonic DID 2-4 million better in the states, but had FAR less competition. (second week of Avengers Endgame and summer releases vs. 2nd week of Harley Quinn and a slow spring)
I'm honestly really curious what I'm missing here. Are they just saying Sonic reached certain money numbers faster, despite doing $114 million less at the box office?
Just my opinion, but I wonder if all the Zelda comparisons from articles like this have actually hurt the game more than helped it. I worked at an EB Games when this was first released, and most people who bought it due to hearing how much like Zelda it was turned out very disappointed by it. Some even flat out said it was not like a Zelda experience at all.
Looking at the Metacritic reviews, this isn't doing well on any platform....
Unless you count the user reviews, some calling it the best game of the generation, lol.
I personally have no interest in this game, but looking at those perfect reviews, there's probably a lot more entertainment to be had from those trying to overhype it.
As admirable as it is to support a creator, I can't help but wonder what those reviews and feedback would be if Yuji Naka wasn't involved in this game.
@BenAV I'm honestly surprised it's being offered for that price. I have several hours in it and I've thoroughly enjoyed it! Just a heads up if you get it: the beginning of the game can be a little difficult to figure out where you can go and what you can do, not to mention it's easy to get killed early in the game. Fortunately it's generous with allowing you to save the game when you want to
I used one of those Snap Stations when they were around. I should still have those stickers I printed stored somewhere. I never got around to using them or sticking them to anything
@Mince
Um, ok? I'm not sure what you're trying to claim in response to my comment.
The fact that I made the comment that I've never heard about this game before indicates the opposite??
Sorry, it just comes across as a paradox and I'm genuinely confused.
This whole thing is strange to me. I experienced it on one of my 4 joycons, they fixed it in less than a week, and it's worked perfectly since then. The other 3 have never had any issues. I also have friends who never experienced the problem on any of theirs and those who experienced with each one they had before getting them fixed. Lately I keep forgetting about it until I see headlines like this. Curious why some have this problem and others don't
I usually only use the gold points since they act as currency towards game purchases. I only recently used the platinum points to get the Mario ornament and Xenoblade stickers, which I'm happy with. My platinum points have accumulated since you get them from simply visiting the site once a week or doing surveys and completing "missions", so I can't imagine most of those rewards being very good.
@Thwomp_Stomper Yeah, I did the same thing and it came to about the same price for three items
