@Yosher the last thing I wanted to be is mean and I think it’s a bit of a stretch to say anything in my comment was mean, but I take your point and apologise for coming across that way.
My point was just that a lot of people love to learn about this stuff and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you don’t want to know, there’s nothing wrong with that either. But they obviously aren’t gonna to stop for you and that would be crazy to expect.
So your best option is to avoid any posts or threads on the topic, which is luckily, extremely easy. A lot easier than these people no longer doing it.
@Yorumi NH is a service game that will get updates for years. You can take issue with that in itself, I'm not a huge fan of it myself, but to talk about huge omissions a week or two after launch is absurd.
@Nintendzoey Do you mind me asking how you lost that money? Usually it's impossible to lose turnips unless you let them go off or sell them too low, both of which are easy to avoid....(assuming you're aware of how it works beforehand of course)
@carlos82 When they leave it just says "so and so is leaving" and shows them walking out the gate. It's like a 5 second animation. I agree it's too long when they first come though, at least if you're having more than one person come over at once.
@SonOfVon Time travelling is a popular way to play and a significant amount of their player base would be very annoyed by that. For those of us who don't, all we need to do is not do it so it shouldn't really be an issue.
@progx How does that make sense when the title was mostly about the release date and in no way implied the patch was a big deal or large in size?
On topic, I played this on PS4 for a while and got bored. It's a very slow game to sit in front of the TV and watch for hours, but I think I'll get it again for Switch. It'll be much easier to play casually while my gf watches TV.
One of my favourite N64 games! The sound effects are so nostalgic. The shortcuts were awesome, I used to know all of them but it'll take me a while to find them again I think....
By the way it's just a port not a remake as far as I know?
@SmaggTheSmug sounds awesome to me. I’m imagining daily social RPG mechanics like Persona that lead to certain characters being in different situations etc
@huyi Nothing in Dreams is using copyrighted assets because it's impossible to import assets into Dreams. Every single asset in the game is crafted by a user. This, combined with the fact that Sony is only selling the tools and not directly profiting from the creations, means no company has any legal recourse for this
@nintendoknife very true. It’s the same with a lot of smartphone sketchy behaviour, people have blinders on when it comes to video games they enjoy lol
@bound4earth I literally didn’t defend this at all lol. It’s disgusting, illegal and anti consumer on every level. Niantic should be ashamed of themselves. Read my second comment from very soon after my first one and stop jumping on everything that triggers you without actually reading it.
@Mince Yes I know and the fact they only added the VAT on at the checkout is very scummy like I originally said, what's your point? you almost sound like I defended it when I directly did the opposite?
And yes if you're going to tell me I don't understand the laws of my own country, my background working with that exact law is directly relevant. Not sure why you think I want a medal for having a bog standard job lmao
@Mince What law are you talking about? I know you legally need to display the VAT as part of the price. My second comment made that very clear and my first comment never suggested otherwise. As someone who managed an accounting firm for over a decade and now manages a marketing agency you don't need to tell me how VAT works, I quite literally deal with it every hour.
There is no law saying you can't add booking and admin fees at the checkout, however. If there was, Ticketmaster wouldn't be in business, since such fees are added to ticket sales on the vast majority of concerts, festivals and events. I will happily eat my words if you can show me that law but I'll be claiming my last 30 years of fees back too lol.
@nessisonett Sorry I completely missed the mention of tax. Thanks for the correction. That is indeed very scummy, can’t believe they thought they could get away with it!
If £3 makes that much of a difference you shouldn't be going out at all.
It is certainly sneaky but this has been the norm for public events since forever. Music gigs, comedy shows, festivals, etc etc all have additional booking fees that aren't mentioned until the payment stage
There is unquestionably going to be some sort of in game purchase. It's one of Nintendo's biggest selling franchises and arguably their most suited to additional content. they'd be idiots not to
@lyle_catcliffe Not at all. If you play it consistently for 2-3 weeks its difficult not to. You will need to get better at each individual game, don't get me wrong. But if you practice each and try, anyone can do it.
@Ryu_Niiyama This only happens when people try to sell a game for money. Fan projects that are free to download or not available to the public are left alone 99% of the time
@QueenKittenWrite You are right but that can be said for fanboys of any console. Do you not remember the pure nerd rage when Bayonetta 2 was announced as exclusive?
@fafonio If you type Grrrrr and that many exclamation marks because you're that annoyed about your favourite game series not being announced it's time to go outside for a while.
Nintendo know their markets a lot more than you or I
@leo13 They did on Wii U. But it sold terribly. Platinum came to them about publishing it for Switch and Nintendo turned it down thinking it wasn't going to be profitable enough, so they allowed Platinum to take the IP back
A third party publisher came in and offered a deal to help publish the remaster, and will be doing so on Switch, but on other platforms too.
I'm pretty certain of this - I posted it as speculation on ResetEra a couple weeks ago in response to a well known insiders hints about W101 - the insider PM'ed me saying I was on the right track and asked me to delete the post as it made their hints a bit too obvious.
Still could be wrong of course and I'm not the insider myself so can't guarantee anything - but wait and see
It's gonna be multiplatform, not Switch exclusive. Since Nintendo turned down to publish it themselves and a third party publisher worked with Platinum instead. I told Nintendolife via email and provided my source but they didn't post it so guess I'm not trustworthy yet y'all will see what I mean very soon though
@TheDragonDAFan yes but this doesn’t relate to spoilers at all. You can be spoiled for story beats, characters and locations in a game. You can’t be spoiled for the advertisement for a game. That’s absurd
@RupeeClock What a sad thing to complain about. Not all "news" has to appeal to you personally. Leakers are a huge part of being a Nintendo fan at this point.
At the end of the day, if this turns out to be true, then it was quite obviously worth reporting, and if it turns out to be false, then nobody is harmed or spoiled. Either way, this is completely harmless and provides some interesting discussion when official news is slow.
Also, Nintendo fans are into it and it brings traffic. Nintendolife are a business. They will never stop reporting on stuff like this and it's stupid to expect it
@KitsuneNight What do you mean "are you supposed to be happy about it"? People into these types of games will be. Nobody cares if you specifically are happy.
@Mgene15 Not really. It would need to be a much lower resolution but there's nothing else there that hasn't already been done on Switch. The Witcher's world is bigger, more complex, more detailed, and has more interaction. It has worse image quality by far and looks nowhere near as clean, but that doesn't really matter. Lowering resolution would drastically reduce the power needed.
@Kilroy the Brain Age series is a completely different franchise from a completely different developer that is made up of a collection of different mini games so maybe that’s where the confusion comes from?
Brain Training doesn’t have individual mini games that you play separately in that way. The tasks may be small and 2D but they are not self contained and are part of an ongoing campaign where the game mixes up the tasks based on your previous results and has a ton of progression.
I don’t think anybody can tell you it’s specifically worth $25, because that depends on your taste only. But there is no question that it has more than enough content to support that (already budget) price and if a game in this genre is something that interests you, there isn’t a better one.
This is an ongoing game that will take months to complete, 40+ hours of (different) gameplay and provide a different experience each day, it’s not a collection of mini games where you select which one you want to play today and then if you play tomorrow you select from the same few options again.
Brain Age has a setup like that and is comparable to games like Wii Sports, or smartphone mini game collections. Brain Training does not and is not, hope that makes sense.
Even if the individual tasks aren’t in depth, the overall campaign of working through and getting better at them is.
@dimi This is a full game with dozens of hours of content. It has nothing in common with a minigame or a mobile game outside of touch controls. You have no idea what you're talking about.
It's a toughy, he's absolutely right that there are a lot of losers using the film as an excuse to say racist and sexist stuff and that discourse has really taken a hit from these nasty people.
With that said, it's an objectively bad film and there are plenty of decent people who don't stand for that stuff, who are saying equally harsh things about the film, because the film made some straight up idiotic decisions.
He is doing a good thing by speaking out about the stuff, but he also needs to appreciate there is no silencing the disappointment with the film and that it will never be seen as the game changing Star Wars film he seems to think it is
