When I first heard this my heart stopped for a moment because I don't want Mario to be like Sonic in ANY way and I thought that (cheesy) lyrics don't belong in a mario game... Glad to say that I'm wrong

Btw, at first I thought it will be Monster Hunter trailer because I saw a dinosaur until I realized it was a "Plain" Dinosaur, so my speculation was changed. And then when I saw a Mario hat, I suspected it was ... Voila ! Before I answered my speculation, I realized that it was Super Mario Odyssey new trailer actually.

Speaking about Hats/ Caps, I think Samurai Helmet and Samurai outfit for Mario will be on the new place with Japanese theme, considering this game made by Japanese people. And we can speculate what kind of Hats or Caps from around the world that will be inside Super Mario Odyssey.

Wow. I am clearly in the minority. Must be I'm a crotchety old, "In my day, there were no words in Super Mario music... and we LIKED it that way!" kind of guy. Seriously though, I'm really not a fan of the song, vocals and especially the real-life theme shown in the trailer. I wasn't a fan before but even more so I am not a fan now. there were some cool new levels and the transformations are cool, but I really don't look for realistic imagery (like the city, people and T-Rex) in my Mushroom kingdom. If I want that, I'll go play a game rooted in that style. For me, Mario was a celebration of fun fantasy worlds that I CAN'T relate with.

@PlywoodStick Yes, my thoughts exactly. These characters belong in their own fantasy worlds. If I want to see our world, I'll open the door and walk outside.

I like it. It's a quirky upbeat jazz song that fits Mario pretty well. This is one of the games I'll be getting when I get a Switch.

The singer sounds a lot like the girl from Bayonetta 2's various themes.

I had to rewatch the trailer because I was focusing on the music, not the gameplay. I adore this song.
