Lacking some features, added a bunch more. The QoL improvements, better visuals, more customization and ability to shape my island how I want are all better than a coffee shop that doesn’t actually do anything. I played over 600 hours of New Leaf and I love it, but New Horizons is much better and unlike New Leaf it’ll be regularly receiving content updates.

I mean yeah, ports and gams that are actually developed as games first instead of gacha machines are fine on mobile. Those I don’t have a problem with. Apple Arcade is again a perfect example of doing games right on phones. The problem is that the large majority of games you see there are free to play garbage, and that’s the stuff that brings in the most revenue so it becomes a never ending cycle. Hopefully with Arcade we’ll see a big change in the next few years, but I have my doubts.

Call of Duty Mobile is a perfect example of why phone games are vastly inferior to their console/PC counterparts. I’d lump it right in with Mario Kart Tour. Though I will say that Shantae and Oceanhorn 2 are great games and that Apple Arcade is pretty cool. Still, I’d rather have my games on a dedicated gaming device. Pulling out my Switch wherever I am is much more convenient than strapping a controller to a phone with a smaller screen.

Well again the art style is definitely not my thing, looks like some kind of Cartoon Network show. After watching gameplay though, there isn't much animation going on so I guess I take back my comment aha

I don't really understand the con for art style. It isn't my thing but it looks well done, subjectivity shouldn't be a negative.

The first game was pretty good, but Impossible Lair is genuinely one of the best platformers on the Switch. Happy birthday Yooka-Laylee!

@NerdyBoutKirby I get what you're saying, but Yooka isn't an indie franchise (published by Team 17, a pretty well-known publisher) and was developed by former Rare devs.

I'm sure you guys are taking her words way more seriously than she did at the time. "Segment of the population" is a bit of a stretch, dude. Pokémon Bank wasn't a bad idea, though. Having a cloud-based storage to easily transfer Pokémon between games is much better than what we were doing back in the day. Home should be cheaper, but I don't expect it to be free.

Eh, at 1/3 the price I never expected it to be as good. I will say that I'd rather play old games over more modern ones that I didn't buy in the first place. I either have already bought Playstation +'s games at launch (like the Bioshock Collection), or I was never interested enough in the game to buy it (Sims 4). At least with NSO there are games I'll always go back to (LttP, SMW)

Requiring you to pay to play games online is crap, so in that regard all of these services are scams and can't compare to PC. At least Nintendo's is the cheapest amongst the three consoles.

The fact that they aren’t flat-out telling us no and that they conducted a survey to gauge interest in this port has me hopeful. I’m starting to grow out of RPGs, but I think this would be a cool addition to the Switch’s library.

Again, absolutely no problem with people complaining about Game Freak charging for these services. My problem is with people pretending Sword and Shield are the first games where Game Freak chose to get greedy. Bank started the subscription-for-storage thing, and GF has been milking its fans since the beginning when they went with two versions of the same game. Instead of using this argument as a dig against Game Freak, they use it as a dig against Sw/Sh, nevermind the money hungry history of Pokémon. I love the franchise and happily allow myself to be milked, but I’m not going to deny that it has always been this way.

Then complain about Pokémon Bank, which came out well before Home did. Again, I have no problem with people complaining about the price, but complaining about the service itself when Bank did the same thing years ago is silly to me.

Pokémon Bank existed before Sw/Sh came out, this just improves on that concept. The price is a tad steep but how is having an app that allows you to transfer your Pokémon between games a bad thing?

It’s better than Pokémon Bank, especially since I can manage it on my phone, but that price hurts. I love being able to manage the GTS even if I’m away from my Switch!

I absolutely understand his decision and am happy more people will get to experience this game. That being said, the Switch version is going to outsell every other version combined multiple times over.

But it’s a survey gauging interest in Switch ports. I see little sense in Atlus wasting time with this if they aren’t open to porting these games. It isn’t about being entitled. Atlus is literally asking their fans if they want these Switch ports.

As others have stated, Persona 5 and Bayonetta 2/3 are two different situations. Also, I’ve never begged for a Persona 5 Switch port, but Atlus conducting a survey to see if fans want these games on Switch has certainly opened the doors.

Awesome, I took a break from completing my Dex until Home releases so that I can transfer Pokémon from Sword to Shield.

It isn't just the art style, the animation, movement, and even some of the sound effects look and sound like Hollow Knight. I'll wait and see before I call it a straight-up rip off, but yeah, it's hard to argue that it isn't.

One of the best games of the year hands down and CERTAINLY better than Death Stranding.

Oof, the price is a bit steep but this is one of my favorite games to play at Round One. I'll definitely pick this up if I get any eshop gift cards for Christmas.

Exactly, and there have been reports that the devs at Game Freak were frustrated with TPC executives because they wanted more time to work on S/S and were being rushed. (I'm enjoying the games but yeah, they could definitely be better)

I love the internet because you always see these complainers being the most vocal, but sales prove that they're a small minority every time and it's going to happen with Sword and Shield. These two games are going to be some of the best selling games on the Switch, they're going to be critical successes, and they're going to sell a gang of Switches during the holiday season. If you @ me with some negative trash I'll just ignore you and take you off the list when Nintendo Life makes an article about the games selling extremely well, just so I can see what you have to say there.

I don't really understand this mentality, though. They aren't going to allow you to transfer your old Pokemon pre-Sword/Shield. All of your old Pokemon are stuck on the 3DS forever. Pokemon Home is going to be used from Sword and Shield on, so you might as well restart your collection. The games look really good, the Dyna/Gigantamax mechanic makes gym battles more epic than ever before and raids are an awesome addition for multiplayer. The story looks promising, the art style is vibrant and colorful, the soundtrack sounds great, the characters and gym leaders look interesting, and the new Pokemon designs are fantastic. The game not having some old Pokemon I've seen and used for years is not that big of a deal, I look forward to new Pokemon in new Pokemon games.

Gonna have to throw in a Freedom Planet recommendation, the game surprised me on the Wii U and at $7 I might just get it again.

Well deserved, the best entry in the franchise for sure. I did miss Subspace, but Ultimate nails everything else and makes up for it.

I didn't get super into the Spirit Board at launch, but I recently started messing with it because of the Tetris event and I've gotta say that it can be pretty addicting. There are just so many, and they're really satisfying to collect especially in handheld mode while watching YouTube on my TV. Hopefully we get more events with new Spirits instead of just increasing the chance to get spirits with a specific theme.

@Silly_G I agree, but a videogame isn't a loved one. I'm stuck with my loved ones for the most part, but going out of my way to spend my hard earned money on a product is entirely different.

You're going to buy the games? Why? If you think you're going to be disappointed, why waste your money? That's the problem I have with "fans" complaining on the internet. People love to complain just for the sake of complaining, but they rarely ever put their money where their mouth is. If I felt that I was going to be disappointed with SnS I certainly wouldn't buy them. Either you enjoy complaining to strangers on the internet or you have a compulsive purchasing problem.

This is exactly how I feel about XBC2. Certainly a good game, but it's rough around the edges and definitely not as good as the first one.

XBC2 isn't better than DQ11, and Vesperia isn't even close. I like XBC2 but that game has some really dumb mechanics (looking at you field skills) and Vesperia is mediocre, even if it is the best Tales game.

Gonna have to disagree, at least until XBC1 hits the Switch. DQ11's only real flaw is its music imo, and it's perfectly serviceable.
