I've read up about it and I think I see why right-leaning folks have a problem with LeBron. LeBron speaks his mind about politics, Lauren Ingraham from Fox even told the guy to "shut up and dribble" because he dares to have an opinion on things beyond basketball. He seems okay to me.
Battlefront 2 actually IS a fun game with a dedicated fan base, all of its criticism was directed towards the crappy loot box system. Also, what on earth are you talking about when you say that Animal Crossing New Horizons doesn’t have any real progression system like past games? I’ve played hundreds of hours of New Leaf and I can’t think of a single progression system it has that Horizons doesn’t, please elaborate. Horizons actually has Nook Miles and an achievement system, so if anything it has more progression than any other game in the series. Like @johnvboy here said, your bias is showing and you’re pointing to a minority group of complainers on the internet to feed it. The game sold well (which does mean that people like a game, hate to burst your bubble), and it’s a critical darling with game reviewers.
Also, side tangent: people who play a game for hundreds of hours and then complain that there’s not enough content are hilarious to me. Maybe if you had a life games would last longer for you.
I don’t really know where you’re getting this idea that Animal Crossing fans aren’t happy with New Horizons, it sold gangbusters and the only thing I see players upset about is that they aren’t doing more with the updates (wanting more of what we got is a good sign). I would agree with you on New Horizons attracting a ton of new players to the series and longtime fans not caring for the game if the numbers added up, but New Leaf was one of the bestselling 3DS games so it isn’t like the series wasn’t mainstream before New Horizons. I do wish the villagers had a bit more to say, but honestly being able to put furniture outside of your house finally is such a huge upgrade that I just cannot go back. I don’t understand what you’re asking for from the old games that Horizons doesn’t have that makes such a big difference gameplay-wise. Also, being mad about a series you love getting a Monopoly board is kind of weird. Far better than that crap Amiibo Festival game we got thanks to the Welcome Amiibo update on New Leaf.
I was just hoping that Nintendo’s own first party games would be able to run at a steady FPS at the very least. It isn’t a big deal, but they could have done a little more.
Thank you for getting the point of this. There’s really no argument he can make against this, I only wish I'd have said it sooner.
@Andy_Witmyer
I’m literally white, as white as they come. My nipples get sun burnt, I’m so white. I’m arguing against my fellow white heterosexual dudes who come to video game comment sections to argue that diversity is wrong. My problem isn’t with you being white, it’s you holding onto that whiteness like a trophy and lording it over everyone else.
When you argue against diversity and inclusion, that’s exactly what you’re doing.
@Mountain_Man I would assume, like most corporations, they’d hire someone as soon as they get a certain amount of applications. Companies aren’t just going to sit and wait around forever. You’re literally just coming up with scenarios to try and prove a point, these are assumptions you’re making because you’re anxious about the newfound fragility of the status quo. In the old world where being a white man has given you preferential treatment for so long, it’s understandable that change might make you guys who want that benefit nervous, but I’m all for tearing down white privilege if that means equality for everyone.
@Andy_Witmyer that isn’t the purpose of this, why are white men so sensitive about their race? This is the company saying we aren’t always going to hire a white man over a black woman who both qualify for the job just because he gets five extra points for his whiteness.
I swear white dudes love to say that everyone else gets triggered but they’re the most sensitive snowflakes I’ve ever seen, and I am one.
I just don’t see any other reason to argue about this. I mean if you think it’s a corporate PR stunt, that’s fair, but it’s still a good thing nonetheless.
But your argument doesn’t even hold water. This whole thing is to get more qualified minority groups in the workplace, not to pass on more qualified white heterosexual men. If a woman is as qualified as a man, and there’s less women employed in the company, why not hire her?
It isn’t really about saving money, it’s about not paying for a game that should clearly have been f2p. It’s weird, EA publishes so many good games but they always seem to mess them up somehow.
Absolutely adored my time with this game, but I cannot for the life of me understand why it isn’t F2P. Hopefully it turns around and goes that route, Rocket League was a $20 purchase originally but they had the brains to go F2P. I’m so tired of seeing games with a purchase price also having a F2P in-game economy with micro transactions and battle passes and such. I refuse to let publishers who do this have their cake and eat it too.
@Mr-Fuggles777 That’s weird, I remember being super surprised by how stable the framerate was when I tried it out. I don’t use my Switch for those types of games, but I’ve gotta give the devs credit for pulling that one off.
@Mr-Fuggles777 Paladins is 60 FPS on Switch, it’s actually a really well done port. Resolution does take a hit, though. I do think a cloud version would be cool for Switch, I mean the game is always online anyway.
Yeah, I never asked for OW on Switch but it only makes sense with the system’s popularity, and I’m all for increasing the game’s overall playerbase with crossplay. More the merrier!
@conditionals yeah, I’m really hoping the Pro launches before OW2 because I want to get stuck into that game and would like for my Switch buddies to tag along with me. People fault the Switch too much when it comes to these big AAA ports IMO, I could only dream of being able to play these bigger games on a handheld back in the day, especially online multiplayer games. The days are gone where us Nintendo fans would have to settle for a super gimped version of a game with tons of cut features/etc. A stable 30 FPS is fine if that’s all you have access to.
The first Overwatch runs better on Switch than I expected. I was playing on my PS5 last night and my cousin in-law played on Switch and did surprisingly well. He wasn’t top player or anything but he did get a play of the game and we won more matches than we lost.
Overwatch isn’t comparable to CoD, who told you those games were similar? Overwatch is all about teamwork and making sure your team composition works well, communicating, and supporting your teammates especially if you’re a healer. CoD is a twitch-based reflex FPS, you can kind of just turn your brain off and run around if you have fast reflexes.
@StardusterEX Thank you for being you. Seriously. You’re who I needed to converse with, because honestly I hold the same views as you and I guess raw emotion got the better of me. I went to a Dodgers game with my wife last night and she was just so down because this was the first time since being together that we didn’t go with her dad, and it was hard. Then seeing a group of guys complain and gripe because they had to keep their masks on during the game made things worse, and my wife cried herself to sleep. We’ve both been vaccinated for nearly two months and we still willingly wear masks every where we go because we’re compassionate and care about the well-being of others, and it’s just frustrating to see how selfish people can be. My apologies.
@Desrever I absolutely agree with that, I have an in-law that’s like that and it’s certainly an issue. However there’s a couple key differences here: those all-natural, all-organic folks are definitely a much smaller crowd, and they aren’t basing their reluctance purely on a political game. These crazies on the right are being radicalized by a lot of high-profile Republicans, by social media, and frankly by completely morons like Joe Rogan. Not getting the vaccine because you believe Democrats are evil is the worst reason I’ve seen not to do anything.
@Kyloctopus ^ This, don’t take advice from newscasters, podcasters and especially not dudes in a comment section for a Nintendo fan site. That includes me, I don’t know your situation and maybe you really can’t get the vaccine due to health issues. Inform yourself.
@kalmaro Also, another thing. Where do you guys get this idea that every vaccine has to be made from scratch, that scientists start from a blank slate? We have years and years of research, experience, and advancements in medicine that are growing exponentially. Why does every vaccine have to have the same amount of time to create, despite our ever-growing progress? That’s incredibly simple-minded.
@Kalmaro millions of people have gotten the vaccine already champ, let’s compare COVID-19 vaccine death rates to COVID-19 death rates. My father in-law died from COVID right before Christmas, he was only a couple of months away from being able to get the vaccine. I have zero tolerance for this anti-vaccine narrative you guys are pushing.
The reason they're going after you is because you make stupid comments to instigate an argument. Expect to get argued with. Stop being a petulant child trying to defend yourself and leave if you have nothing to add to the conversation.
LMAO, the fact that you'll call Pokémon Snap a kiddie on rails photo game but praise Balan Wonderland, a "kiddie" game that's technically broken and flat out bad, is hilarious. You're obviously a troll. I'm playing Returnal and Pokémon Snap together, why not both? I still play my Switch ten times more than my ps5 because it at least has games.
Exactly this. If I'm being honest, this really just sounds like a marketing ploy to get people who otherwise wouldn't give this game a second look interested in it.
I only play maybe three big budget AAA games a year these days (mostly stick to indies, Nintendo, and retro games).That being said, TLoU2 absolutely deserves it. Better than the first in nearly every respect (except pacing I guess, it’s a couple hours too long imo).
They've probably already decided he's a perfectly okay dude since they're so ready to dismiss every "mainstream" media site and Kotaku. I remember when I was an edgy thirteen year old.
Pass. The "only cosmetic" defense doesn't work for me anymore. Unless it's free to play, I shouldn't be paying to unlock content that would have been included in an older full-priced game. Knowing Ubisoft, this game is also going to have "time savers" you can buy, because they specifically made the game more grindy than it needed to be so you'll consider buying them.
"video game violence" is such a broad, vague argument and not at all a good defense for what's being discussed here. I wouldn't let my future children play rated M games. I just wouldn't. No good parent should. Also, I have been very vocal about my dislike for games where the objective is killing innocent people. I don't care for GTA, but the goal in the story isn't to go around killing innocent people. I don't really care for playing games that have a lot of blood and gore, and the ones I do like (Doom, Bayonetta) have you killing monsters. The main thing here is context, and there is no good context for sexualizing underage girls. These guys don't have a better argument, so they have to generalize and assume things about others to defend themselves.
Anyway, I don't even care if people play these games, I just had to respond to Beauty's stupidity.
I wouldn’t have replied to your comment if you hadn’t singled out California, as if it’s the only state in the U.S that would censor a game like this. You’re the one who brought politics into this. If you don’t believe that the Bible-thumping states, the ones where Trump’s approval rating is highest, would be harder on censoring games like this, you’re out of your mind. Hell, Trump himself played footage of violent video games at the White House in an effort to censor them. Your problem should be with Sony’s move to the U.S in general, not that they moved to one of the most progressive states in the country, and the one that generates the most money for the video game industry here.
Also, I think it’s hilarious that Trump supporters label anyone who speaks out against him as far-left. Especially considering the majority of the U.S voted against him in 2016, and his approval rating has only lowered since. But I guess there’s no middle ground, right? You’re far-left or far-right.
I honestly don't care that much about this game, and can realize that there are a ton of people who just think this kind of thing is funny and don't actually get aroused by it. It's when you go so far to defend your guilty pleasures that I start to think you're a little too into it.
The girls in Gal Gun are literally children in a school setting though, unrealistic body proportions be damned. Fictional or not, the sexualization of little girls isn’t cool. That isn’t me getting religious or anything, it’s just common sense. The murder-in-games defense doesn’t actually do anything for your argument, it just brings up another issue to try and sweep this one under the rug.
I don’t care about sexuality in games as long as it’s between two consenting adults, but that isn’t what this game is about and Japan certainly has a problem with this sort of thing. Love their culture, but not this aspect of it. No place is perfect though, I mean look who we have for a President here in the U.S.
Edit: many fought for the right to draw panty shots of 14 year old school girls? Is this really the hill you want to die on?
I don’t understand how taking a stance against oogling little girls is regressive, but then again I’m attracted to women so maybe I’m just not able to put myself in this guy’s shoes. Not that I’d want to.
Looks okay, though I’m not really into MOBA games. I’m just excited that no mainline Pokémon game is coming out this year. I like SnS but Game Freak needs to spend more time on their next game, these annual releases are why we didn’t get a Breath of the Wild makeover for the series.
What’s up with people exaggerating about port begging here? You guys are annoying lmao, this is an article about a non-Nintendo game on a Nintendo Life article. Of course people are going to discuss the possibility of it coming to a Nintendo console, especially since said game is obviously NOT PlayStation exclusive anymore. If people were begging for Persona in every unrelated article I’d understand, but I only see it in articles specifically about Persona. I don’t know how you could consider that port begging.
It’s a shame that this game is just a poor man’s Diablo 3. They should have done more with crafting/building, or have some kind of cool dungeon editor.
That’s fine, but that isn’t the point of a remake. You don’t take the first section of a game, pad out the length of said first section with generic side quests/etc., and then claim that it’s the full game. It’s just the first section, albeit longer.
I’m not trying to argue whether or not FF7Remake is well made, because it definitely is. A good combat system, soundtrack, gorgeous visuals and the great characters from the original but expanded upon. It’s definitely well made. But it certainly isn’t the full FF7 experience, and in my opinion even if the plot changes weren’t an issue (they are, you aren’t supposed to change the game’s plot in a remake), they bad and undo a lot of what made the original so good.
In that sense it isn’t a full game. If it wasn’t a remake of FF7, I wouldn’t be taking issue with it.

@nessisonett
I don’t understand how taking a stance against oogling little girls is regressive, but then again I’m attracted to women so maybe I’m just not able to put myself in this guy’s shoes. Not that I’d want to.
Re: Pokémon Unite, An Online Team Battle Game, Revealed For Switch And Mobile
Looks okay, though I’m not really into MOBA games. I’m just excited that no mainline Pokémon game is coming out this year. I like SnS but Game Freak needs to spend more time on their next game, these annual releases are why we didn’t get a Breath of the Wild makeover for the series.
Re: Japanese Charts: Ring Fit Adventure Surpasses One Million Sales, Nintendo Takes Entire Top Ten
@westman98
New Horizons is already almost at New Leaf’s lifetime sales numbers, and New Leaf has been out for over 7 years. That’s absolutely INSANE.
Re: Random: Nintendo Switch Fans React To The PC Port Of Persona 4 Golden
What’s up with people exaggerating about port begging here? You guys are annoying lmao, this is an article about a non-Nintendo game on a Nintendo Life article. Of course people are going to discuss the possibility of it coming to a Nintendo console, especially since said game is obviously NOT PlayStation exclusive anymore. If people were begging for Persona in every unrelated article I’d understand, but I only see it in articles specifically about Persona. I don’t know how you could consider that port begging.
Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Has Reportedly Been Downloaded More Than 10 Million Times
@Razer New Leaf didn’t sell nearly this fast, though. Let’s put that into perspective.
Re: Review: Minecraft Dungeons - A Simple Action RPG That Relies Too Heavily On The Minecraft Name
It’s a shame that this game is just a poor man’s Diablo 3. They should have done more with crafting/building, or have some kind of cool dungeon editor.
Re: Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing Denies Xenoblade Chronicles A Debut Week At Number One
@mazzel
To think it actually bothers this guy what other people find worth buying. We get it @Razer, you can’t afford XCDE at full price. It’s okay.

@TheLightSpirit
