Being knocked off the number 1 spot for anything doesn't mean it's suddenly dying, though. If that were the case we might as well declare the PS4 dead because the Switch is selling better. It just means it isn't number one anymore, but I guarantee you that Fortnite is going to be just fine as far as profits go for a few more years.

"Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good"

Saying that people have poor taste and are sheeps just because you dislike something honestly just makes you look like a jackass tbh

I dislike a lot of pop music but I'm not going to put people down for it, same goes for Fortnite. Our taste in videogames and music isn't more important than anyone else's, and our opinions aren't any more relevant.

Also, no one needs advice on how to be masculine from some dude with an anime avatar on a Nintendo fan site, friend.
(Not trying to make fun of anyone with an anime avatar, just guys like Seth whose masculinity is so fragile)

Yeah you're right, let me edit my post lmao

I'll admit it isn't the art style I'd have chosen, but Idk I'm still excited to play through it and see what kind of content they've added. Knowing that it was developed originally for 3DS allows me to give the art style a bit of slack.

Same, I would absolutely take more Zelda if given. If you were hoping for more Nintendo exclusives I wouldn't worry too much mate, we're definitely going to see plenty of first party good stuff either with the next Direct or at E3. I think Nintendo really wanted to focus on third party, and they really kicked it out of the park with this one.

Eh, I feel like Link's Awakening is one of the most light-hearted Zelda games, especially with the Mario and Kirby stuff. Link's Awakening was being developed for the 3DS, you can kind of tell with the art style even though it does look very crisp and HD. I think it's going to be great.

Definitive version of DQ11, Mario Maker 2, Link's Awakening, Final Fantasy 9 being shadow dropped, Astral Chains (looks SICK), Rune Factory 5 announcement, release dates for a bunch of games I've been waiting for like Bloodstained, Fire Emblem looks great, Yoshi and DXM demos

So much news, and there's still Pokemon Day this month where we'll probably get a gen 8 reveal, there's the Atlus thing coming up where we'll probably get a P5 announcement, and we'll probably get another Direct before E3. How anyone could call this Direct disappointing is baffling to me, they're most likely saving the big Nintendo exclusives for E3.

Re: PlatinumGames Still "Hard At Work" Developing Bayonetta 3

Astral Chains and Mario Maker 2 made my day. Yeah I'm a little disappointed with the lack of Metroid, but a lot was shown and we're only halfway through February! Pokemon Day is coming up where I'm fairly certain we'll at least get a sneak peek at gen 8, and we're probably getting another Direct around April. Then off to E3!

@WaveBoy

Why are you trying to sell PlayStation so hard? All I've seen you do lately is compare Nintendo to Sony. By the way, the Switch version of DQ11 is the definitive version.

Also, a little over $900 which is about as much as people pay for a PS4 and then a Pro later. I've had my PC since 2014. It's worth it to pay a little more for the crazy amount of options you get with a PC (I also edit videos and animate on it), and those sweet sweet Steam deals can't be beat.

A handheld device primarily. Of course it isn't going to compete hardware-wise with dedicated home consoles. I don't consider the Switch a home console, so I don't compare it to one. The Switch is my go-to handheld device that I rarely play on my TV unless I'm playing with friends or my fiance. The PS4/Xbox One are closer to PCs than any console has ever been, and they just aren't as powerful. I have my PC connected to both a monitor and my television, and I play most games on PC with a controller on my couch.

@ilikeike

It's sad. I wish I didn't have to cry doom and gloom all the time, but it sucks to see so many of my favorite companies tank because they shacked up with a rotten publisher. It happened to Bungie, it happened with Bioware, and now it's happening to Blizzard. Bungie got out while the getting was good, I hope Blizzard can save itself but things aren't looking great.

This is why I find it amusing that some people think I'm a fanboy for boycotting most AAA publishers (Activision, EA, Take Two, Bethesda, Ubisoft) and their games. I used to be big on a lot of franchises they own, but they're going downhill. Even singleplayer games are no longer free from in-game cash shops. Franchises and developers that used to be all about incredible singleplayer experiences like Fallout and Bioware have jumped on the live service bandwagon, and at worse they're terrible broken messes and at best just pretty okay Destiny clones.

Re: Activision Blizzard Lays Off Hundreds Despite "Record Year", A Far Cry From Nintendo's Caring Approach

Phostachio

This is what happens when you put your investors first. I'm so tired of these big AAA publishers chasing trends and monetizing their games up the wazoo instead of truly trying to innovate and make products worth our time and money, pumping out soulless "live services" where the only goal is unlimited profit through microtransactions. People are finally realizing this isn't a sustainable business model and unchecked capitalism doesn't work because there's only so much money to be made before people start questioning why they're spending money on your product. I feel for the employees, but this is exactly what Activision Blizzard as a publisher deserved. From bad business decision (Diablo mobile) to bad business decision, AB and all of these other big publishers' stock is dropping faster than Soulja Boy consoles and it has been a long time coming.

Please support indie devs, folks. Support companies that care about their employees. Say what you will about how backwards Nintendo can be, but Iwata fell on his sword and cut his own pay to keep people employed.

This. I love The Witcher 3, but I usually play like one big budget game on that scale a year and most everything else being indies and Nintendo first party titles. I was primarily a PC gamer back during the Wii U, only playing the few worthwhile Nintendo first party games on the system and spending the rest of my time on Steam. Now it's the opposite, I rarely play on my PC just because the Switch has such a good library and it's much more convenient.

@Lionyone

They are improving the online service sometime this year, but I don't want them to focus the Direct on that right now. We need to know what we're playing until E3, but hopefully the next Direct talks about online. Not that I personally care about anything beyond classic games, but I know others do.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 13th February

@Anti-Matter

I haven't actually played 3, but that's what videogamedunkey says in his review. They've simplified the combat even more, with long specials animations and a whole lot of mashing the X button with the occasional triangle for specials. He gave it a 1/5 if you want to check it out. I was on the fence because I've always hated the story but enjoyed the combat and Disney stuff enough, I've played most of the games in the series but really didn't enjoy my time with Dream Drop Distance. I thought that maybe if they cut back on the story I'd buy KH3 and play it on my fiance's PS4, but apparently there are more bad cutscenes than ever.

Again, such a shame. The games are gorgeous, have fantastic music, flashy combat and have freakin' Final Fantasy characters in Disney worlds! Why did they have to write an overly complicated story with bad dialogue and robotic characters? Just trying to piece everything together gives me a brain aneurysm.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 13th February

@AlexSora89

Just wondering, since you seem to be a KH fan: are you able to follow the story? Like, at all? I've always thought that the games have pretty fun combat but the most awful, convoluted story I've probably ever seen in a videogame. Not only that, but from what I hear KH3 threw most of it out of the window so even the people who enjoy the bad writing are disappointed with the latest one.

Not trying to insult you, just genuinely curious because from what I've played of the series, it has so much wasted potential. I personally wouldn't want Sora in Smash, he has had no character progession throughout the series, especially now in 3 where he's amnesiac and forgot everything.

The games definitely would have been better if there had been more of a focus on the Disney stuff.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 13th February

I really hope Fire Emblem cuts down on the weeby fanservice crap. If not I'll just skip it and play through Genealogy of the Holy War again, best game in the series.

As for everything else? I'm so hyped for Animal Crossing that a little bit of gameplay will make the entire Direct a success in my eyes. Metroid Prime Trilogy certainly wouldn't hurt either.
