@EarthboundBenjy Amiibo integration is rubbish when it's just being used for disc-locked dlc like in Splatoon. The way Smash Bros used it to train the amiibo up is ingenious. Amiibo needs to be used to enhance the game, not take away features and content. Developers should treat it like physical DLC.

Also, when games/amiibo become discontinued, I think the people at Nintendo should consider releasing the amiibo exclusive content to players without the needed amiibo for long-term support.

Seems like a pretty typical late system lifetime game release. Looks like a compilation of some old parts of the games. Hopefully this will be the last 3DS game of the series as the 3DS is getting pretty old.

All i will say is that their shenanigans with Youtube is doing Nintendo as a brand no favours.

Downloaded this for the nolstalga kicks and it's well worth it due to having probably the best offline experience of any mario kart game.

Nice to see MK8 getting free updates nearly a year into it's lifespan. 200cc mode looks like something that will be fun to play with, especially as I know all of the courses off my head right now.

Ugh at Mario Kart 7 making the list. Easily the worst Mario Kart game ever made; the roster is terrible and it's new tracks were forgettable.

If they do make a Rumble game, it will only exist to sell amiibo.

The game looks crazy interesting and the teaser didn't reveal anything perceiving to a sonic x pokemon crossover (which, knowing both fanbases, would be flat-out horrifying).

I think that the 2DS and the n3DSXL make a good pair and the smaller n3DS doesn't really have lot's of sale potential, especially with it's screens being smaller than pretty much any modern smartphone.

I've owned a blue one for about a month now. Coming from a og 3ds it's much more comfortable and the tracking 3d works well.

Imported a new 3ds xl last month from Australia and works perfectly due to it being a PAL system. Seems a bit pointless.

The Wii U still suffers from a identity crisis and some people still think that the 3DS is just "another DS". They need to start a new branding scheme for there next set of consoles otherwise it will become even more confusing.

Monster hunter 3 Ultimate for £20 is a killer deal. Still the most content-packed game you can get on both systems and the value for money is excellent.

Motion controls haven't been relevant for about half a decade, so why release this dated rubbish now? I don't hate LeapFrog (edutainment is cool with me) but I feel like this has popped out of a time machine.

@CaviarMeths All they are really is larger phones that can display more content on the screen. They're much easier to use for extended periods and are more compact than a laptop, and usually have better battery lives; overall still not a good of a experience than a actual laptop, but close enough. My nexus 7 2012 has basically replaced my laptop due to how portable a convenient.

And convenient is the key word here. A tablet is not a essential as a phone and is just a comfier phone.

On the actual topic, I agree with @MysticX that it's mainly due to convenience. Why bother bringing around a game console, mp3 player, camera and phone when you can have all in one. While smartphones don't bring the best experiences for each function, it's easy just to have one device rather than a whole arsenal of them.

Don't see decided gaming consoles surviving for at the most a decade due to how most phones are getting really good at gaming though. They just need to make the game controller support more streamlined and you can have a experience just like, if not better (due to higher clarity screens and more processing power) than a 3DS/Vita.

Keep it and release a version with a pro controller instead for £100 less.

@Technosphile In a way, I agree. Casual pokémon fans would be okay with a ios pokemon game. However it's suicide for their hardcore pokemon fans. Hey, I'm open to a ios pokemon game, plus a remake would make more sense as it wouldn't be a completely new experience. However I don't really like smartphone gaming in general.

Looking forward to these remakes anyway.

@Mahe Honestly, the Wii U is so underpowered compared to the PS4/XBOX1 then there is no point in having it. I can see them releasing a budget version without the gamepad, but cutting off the entire support for the gamepad is stupid. Make it a premium accessory.

Also, the main reason why Nintendo is failing is because of the poor marketing.

This just solves a problem that never even existed in the first place.

@Mahe If so then just replace the Wii U then. Either get rid of nothing or get rid of the entire system with the gamepad imo.

@Pj1 Always wanted nintendo to make some kind of smartphone. Perhaps a collaboration with LG or Fujitsu?

If they get rid of the gamepad, they will lose the only real differentiating feature of the Wii U aside for it's IP's/price.

Also, nintendo isn't going under. That's unrealistic. But people underplaying these losses - the issue with nintendo is apart from games they do nothing else. There's nothing else which they specialise in, which is why that health thing there looking at is so intriguing. Perhaps a nintendo health watch?

Well my 3DS has held up pretty well for a 3 year old console.

Nothing here that really compels me. Just already spent £15 on tetris and trine 2 so am pretty satisfied with those purchases.

@Ninjuggernaut They probably want to remake it as a full price game probably. Then again X/Y has such shameless nostalgia pandering then it might not be necessary.
