Re: Poll: Do You Actually Want Switch Ports Of Wind Waker And Twilight Princess?

Nameless_Shame

OoT3D and MM3D are still tied to the 3DS, it would be so simple to port those games as a duo compilation minus the 3D effects.

The Oracle games are still tied to the 3DS eshop (save GBC carts) which will be closing soon, and those could easily reuse the assets from LAHD as a duo compilation.

The original two Zelda games haven’t properly been reimagined in any meaningful way. They are borderline unplayable today (at least Zelda II) and could easily benefit from a PSX-era sprite overhaul (think Legend of Mana) and QoL changes to iron out the esoteric broken English translation and add in a proper storytelling device to these classics. All of this in a duo compilation.

Every one of these I would take over a lazy port of two Wii U ports of Gamecube games.

Will I buy them if they are released? Yeah, probably. The only non-CD-I Zelda games I don’t own are the GBA ports of the original and II.

Do I believe the rumors? I haven’t for the past five years they’ve been swirling, and nothing is going to make me believe it without hard evidence.

Do I think they need to be ported? Not really. Wind Waker can’t get better than with the game pad anyway, and it kind of makes it a mandatory game to pick up for people who get into Wii U collecting in the future, given it’s one of the few “exclusives” left on the console.

Re: Video: The Unsolved amiibo Dilemma - Boxed Or Unboxed?

Nameless_Shame

Been collecting since release day back in late 2014. I have 180 different amiibo all boxed. They’re all currently housed in about five 27-gallon storage boxes, but I used to have them all lined across where the wall meets the ceiling in a previous home; but that was five years and at least fifty amiibo ago.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Special Edition Pre-Orders Delayed Until After Launch (UK + EU)

@Grawbad which is even more hilarious to me considering after the game drops, none of the scalped CEs on eBay are going to go down in price even though it’s minus the actual game. These dip-sucks will be asking for $200 for what essentially amounts to $30 worth of retail.

When your CE consists of 1/3 the value of retail and gets poached for nearly a 700% increase because you rushed a comparable game out because Zelda’s still not ready, you might be Nintendo.

Cue the FFS, SMH…

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition Pre-Orders Have Gone Live, Did You Get One? (US)

@Tyranexx Oh, for sure, anymore most recent amiibo are pretty easy to find in the wild, unless it’s a low run current Smash Bros. one, and even then, they oftentimes get restocks a year or so later.

I should have specified “2015-2018 era amiibo preordering” as those days were absolute hell, and I’ll never forgive the collector in me during my time without steady income in 2017 and missing out on literally some of the most expensive amiibo there are today within literally just a few months’ timeframe.

The shared pain in this thread is palpable.

Had to come back here and share my experiences from yesterday, but literally everything that happened to me has been stated multiple times by you fine folk.

I was going to give the benefit of the doubt to MyNintendo because while I waited in the queue all day, I was at work and wasn’t able to keep my eyes fixed on my phone the whole time, and thought, “ah, dang, I missed my chance, *****, this is my own fault…”

Nope. Eff this flustercuck aday. Terrible, Nintendo. Why are you so adamant on being anti-consumer?

Re: Random: Requests For Zelda Ports Increase Following BOTW 2 Switch Delay

It’s funny to me that 19 years ago, we got a compilation of literally half the available proper Zelda games at the time from 17, 16, 5, and 3 years prior, respectively, on one sexy little disc that no one was expecting and yet we all loved.

If we were to expect, say, a collection of remasters/HD ports, from 11 years ago (OoT3D), 9 years ago (TWWHD), 7 years ago (MM3D), and 6 years ago (TPHD) on one cartridge, we’d be considered greedy, delusional, and ungrateful.

Re: Looks Like Some People In The West Are Playing The Mario Kart 8 DLC Early

Nameless_Shame

@vio @Crumpet123 I’m seeing a lot of speculation on Reddit that presumes “Tour” is literally just for courses based on actually worldly locations, which I think is dumb, and/or that Ninja Hideaway and the entirety of the booster pack courses were meant to be released way earlier but Covid messed everything up and so it got ported to Tour first.

If it doesn’t get “corrected” soon, all we have to do to find out what Nintendo thinks of its origins for its courses, is to see if they release Merry Mountain in a future DLC pack and e see if it had “Tour” listed in the track. If it doesn’t, then Nintendo simply doesn’t count non-real world locations as MKT courses, even if they originated there.

If I’ve learned about S-E over the past few years, it’s that if it’s Final Fantasy related, I’m probably gonna be pissed off about some stupid *****; if it’s Dragon Quest related, I’m probably gonna be really pleased by the overall quality and care put into it.

If it’s anything else in between that I care about (Mana, Saga, pop-up style SNES inspired games) it depends on if it’s console (good) or mobile (already lost me).
