@Gorfvic20 Wasn't Mercury Meltdown really slow? Like this oozing liquid and more of a puzzler than a reaction/balance game? I always wished for something faster, I think I liked Monkey Ball more.
@Jellyscare Aha, so it was you! Yeah I remember it to be very hardware hungry, and I agree on the first game being much more fun. But why didn't you supply youtube footage of more powerful systems running it? Like this for example: https://youtu.be/6nY8nNNNBfE?t=1m20s
@adh56 I do think so, yes. It does the same thing as the regular dock. The dock is just really a plastic holder, the tech inside is minimal. The dock definitely looks nicer than just a cable, but if you want to travel with your switch (and hook it up to a TV elsewhere), it's nice to have a lighter alternative.
once again all screenshots are promo pictures, without UI or actual gameplay. I know there's a video too, but come on NintendoLife - take proper pictures.
Where are the proper screenshots? First Moto GP, now All star Fruit Racing, both being reviewed while only showing smooth promo pictures. You write about the weapon fruit gauges, I would have loved to see them! :/
@gatorboi352 there's plenty of games with a tate mode... it makes most sense to get this if you are into Retro Shmups though, otherwise I admit the game selection is limited.
Pixel look meets Ikaruga gameplay...? I'm not sold, but let's wait for the review. Once thing I don't like is how they use the screen - I can just barely live with these huge borders for old games that were made for vertical screens, but in a new product?? That's the wrong kind of retro for me.
"warlock of firetop mountain"... wait, is that "Der Hexenmeister vom flammenden Berg"?? I loved those as a child! If only they hadn't been so difficult, don't think I ever beat one without cheating.
@link3710 I agree, me too. I was disappointed with 1945 II as there was sooooo much unused screenspace, but then I discovered the joy of rotating the screen.
"does not match the quality of certain other recent releases"... which other good releases in top-down racers were there? I remember Mantis Burn Racing and this one Neo Geo Arcade title. Am I missing something?
@jariw Hey, I'd be very interested in the source. I looked up the google link for the top selling indie titles, are you saying this list is wrong? https://tinyurl.com/yb6zg2ug
I like the cars and the courses, and the racing/drifting looks solid. I am at odds with the character design though, am I the only one to think they look weird?
this "game" is terrible. Yes it is ugly, but I could live with that - it is also badly designed, I ran around the "mine" section without knowing what to do, died three times in a row for no reason and then deleted it after 15 Minutes, which is 25% of the game (designer sets it at one hour playtime). Everything is so incredibly barebones and cheap, it feels like a students first unity project. Don't spend money on this!
@Deadlyblack I agree that comparisons like that are wonky - but doesn't it raise some eyebrows that a system with a far smaller install base scores that much higher on preorders?
@RetroGamerAndrew Hey, what was so bad about it? Difficulty, Gameplay, graphics? I thought about getting it after having a lot of Multiplayer fun with Neurovoider, and thought this might be similar.

Re: Switch Port Of ABZÛ Created Many "Technical Challenges" For The Dev Team At Room 8
I have to admit, for now I don't want it anymore. I try to avoid non-native resolutions in handheld mode, so the 540p is an issue for me.
Maybe in a sale, as it does generally seem to be my kind of game.
Someone remember innerspace? That ran on 720p I believe, but on a bad framerate. Maybe the Abzu devs made the right choice... let's see.
Re: 3D Arcade Brawler Varion Will Be Blasting Onto Switch On 8th November
will it have a slow motion mode for beginners? I'm serious, I'll have trouble finding any friends to play this with me if it's that fast. :/
Re: Treadnauts Is A Tank Brawler Due Out On Switch Next Month
It's out now - when do we get our review?
Re: Review: State of Mind (Switch)
I got it today! Just stumbled upon the retail version in my small town electronics store. Looks good so far!

Re: Team17 Celebrates Its 100th Game Release With A Look Back At Its Greatest Hits
CTRL+F for "ATR" or "All Terrain Racing"... 0 results.
Sad! Such a fun & pretty racing game!

Haha, did you spot Alien Breed 3D II? It was in the top row at the end, running in a very... appropriate frame rate.

Re: This Switch Dongle Can Replace Your Dock And Includes An Ethernet Port
@adh56 I am not sure you understand what the dock does. There is no additional computing unit in there!
Re: This Switch Dongle Can Replace Your Dock And Includes An Ethernet Port
@GoldenGamer88 it is unnecessarily large, if you have to fit it in a hand luggage suitcase. I would prefer a simple cable solution like this one.
Re: Review: State of Mind (Switch)
Mh, I still want this - story driven SF stealth? Sign me up, even if its 6/10.
Re: Nintendo Has Sold 19.67 Million Switch Consoles To Date
@EightBitMan Switch has already sold more than Gamecube everywhere in the world, with the exception of the US.
Re: Review: Element (Switch eShop)
an RTS game with multiplayer sounds like an odd decision indeed.

Re: Vertical Strike Endless Challenge Soars On To Switch This Summer
@SmaggTheSmug I even tried Sky Rogue and found it barebones too - so this one would disappoint me even more! :/

@link3710 I agree, me too. I was disappointed with 1945 II as there was sooooo much unused screenspace, but then I discovered the joy of rotating the screen.
Re: Zerodiv Will Be Bringing The 2D Scrolling Action Of Gunbird 2 To Switch
Mh I don't know, for me Gunbird 2 already felt a bit old fashioned on the Dreamcast. I think I'll skip this.

A Gamecube (2003) classic?
Isn't that rather the 3rd release after Arcade (2001) and Dreamcast (2002)?

1) Fast RMX
2) Golf Story
3) Kamiko
4) NBA Playground
5) Overcooked Special Edition

@masterLEON ah yes, now it works! I didn't know how about the dynamic screenshots, I thought the author sets the images manually.

can we maybe see some gameplay screenshots, not just the intro?

I LOVE the name, but it looks really ugly... also if the controls/gameplay isn't tight, count me out.
Re: Review: Neonwall (Switch eShop)
the dual wielding colour guns sound cool, but I really need to see it in motion - I have no clue what is happening on these screenshots.
Re: Bullet Hell Shooters Vasara And Vasara 2 Are Coming To Switch Next Year
A shooter set in ancient japan? Wow, now that's a change in setting! I wonder how they styled their enemi...enter GIANT ARMORED TRAIN - nevermind. -_-
It still looks like a nice game though!
