Re: Hands On: The More We Play Streets Of Rage 4, The More We Like It

@impurekind I'm not saying that the visuals do not matter, I still want some semblance of recognisability but it has to play correctly to be a SoR game. To me, it looks great as it is but no one will convince you of that fact because that is your opinion. Your opinion is truth to you but not for everyone.

Let us all just wait for the game to be released now as no amount of complaining will ever change the art style.

Unless it is a Sonic the Hedgehog movie

Re: Hands On: The More We Play Streets Of Rage 4, The More We Like It

While everyone can talk about the look and whether they like the new look or prefer the old the ONLY thing I care about is if it FEELS like a SoR game. Walk up to a bad guy (or gal), grab them, couple of quick knees, vault over their head and then suplex them into the concrete all set to the beat of a techno soundtrack.

Re: Poll: Have You Ever Had Problems With Nintendo Hardware?

Mqblank

I had an issue with a shoulder button on my 3DS but other than that it has been Jon-Con drift issues and every Switch owner I know has experienced it.

The annoying thing is that Nintendo must surely know that there is a problem. I think it will be brought more to light when the Switch Lite gets released and people have to send the entire system back and not just the faulty joy-con. And, of course, people will not be able to try and fix it on their own.

Re: Poll: Tell Us Who You're Siding With In Splatoon 2's Final Splatfest

Mqblank

For those of you that wanted the limited edition Finalfest posters using your Platinum My Nintendo points, they have unfortunately all sold out. Great job Nintendo Europe publicising them being available.

You can still, at the time of writing, order one of the t-shirts but are quite expensive at £25 each and then £6 postage to UK. You do receive exclusive in-game gear though (if that helps)

Re: The DLC Packs For Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Won't Be Sold Individually

Mqblank

@Cyberbotv2 My favourite boycott recently had been the Captain Marvel one (if you can have a favourite boycott). Because people hated the actress Brie Larson, who made some comment about putting women before the 'white bearded men of the internet' people who had watched all 20 of the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe film were boycotting this film. Some even stated that her being in the Avengers Endgame film was enough for them to not watch that film. I film that was the culmination of 10 years of movies. I call bullshit on that one.

I will be buying this DLC as I would have bought all three anyway and I spent about that amount each time I went to cinema to watch an MCU in IMAX. If the DLC gives me 3-4 hours of enjoyment, I will be happy.

Re: Random: Astral Chain Is Filled With Hidden Toilets And "Lots Of Cats"

Mqblank

@N8tiveT3ch No, dogs would then follow you around all game and get in the way and you would end up hurting one of them and that would push the age rating of the game up. Cats are much more secret-collectible friendly as they find some real crazy places to hide in so that they can relax and plot overthrowing humans for control of the world (in between naps of course)

Re: Yuji Naka Thanks Sonic Fans For Encouraging Movie Director To Change Controversial Design

Mqblank

For once, I am going to go all conspiracy theory. It is very late in the game to completely redesign a CGI character for a film. What if they never intended the film to be released with this version of Sonic. They designed a horrible character that they knew would be dreadful and the fans would hate for the trailer. The fans would then backlash and the director would then decide to redesign the character. They would then bring out the design that they had intended to release that was more appealing to the fans and they get tons of publicity and it seems like the fans had won the day.

This theory does lose a bit of credibility as they are not going to recast Jim Carrey and his face pulling style of comedy.

Re: Guide: How To Fix A Drifting Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Analogue Stick

Mqblank

Just sent both of mine back. I got an email back a week later saying it would cost £29 to fix my left joy-con and the problem was due to Operating system problem. Then the next day I got another email about the right joy-con. Same problem, same £29! £58! I rang Nintendo UK up to say what exactly is wrong as operating system does not sound like something I have done. They said in actuality it was the analogue stick needed replacing and something like the circuit board was damaged.

I said that I could buy a new set for this price but they said it was the price of repair or we can send it back. I said send them back unprepared. I will now try your cleaning/repair methods. If I totally break them I can just buy some new ones and not be out of pocket.

Re: Hori USA Drops The Price Of Its D-Pad Joy-Con Controller

Mqblank

Excellent little joycon. Perfect for portable fighting games.
@Regpuppy Still not sure I get your reasoning, Joycons 80 making a single joycon 40. This joycon is 20 making it half the price of a normal joycon but it has half the features. If you add in the fact that the d-pad is at least twice as good as the normal one for fighting games, retro games etc this makes it excellent value for money imho. I actually use this more than the standard one when in portable mode.

Of course, it is down to personal preference but I could never say I haven't got my money's worth out of it.

Re: Sony And Microsoft's Gaming Bosses React To Reggie's Retirement

Mqblank

Nintendo is losing all of its on-screen camera personalities. Satoru Iwata, Damon Baker and now Reggie. Shuntaro Furukawa has not taken up the Direct role yet instead leaving it to Yoshiaki Koizumi. NoE president Satoru Shibata doesn't have the same on-screen charisma so I am hoping Mr Bowser knows that he has big shoes to fill and really ups his game. E3 will be a good test.

Re: Review: Smite - A Godly MOBA That Gives League Of Legends A Run For Its Money

Mqblank

@Painkiller_Mike on one hand think this is because there are tons of great games being put on the Switch right now but I am slightly concerned that Alex did a video on this game that was sponsored by the games creators. I do trust NL enough that everything has been done impartially but the timing on the video preview and review could have been handled better.

Re: Sonic Movie Writer Tells Everyone To "Relax" After Poster Backlash

Mqblank

So, people everywhere hated the creepy Sonic game where there was a slight love story between the human woman and Sonic. Got it.

People now hate a poster before any trailer has been released because his legs are too muscular... but, if you are going to make a fictional videogame hedgehog into a live action movie you have to make the character more realistic (look at Rocket Raccoon from the Marvel series of films). It would make sense he has muscular legs so he can run fast.

It is more than likely that everyone will hate the film anyway but at least wait until a trailer is really to see him in motion.

Who is doing his voice anyway?

Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition

Mqblank

if your console is connected to your 'main' TV and someone else is using it, if you have a PS4/XB1, you are pretty much stuffed but if you have a Switch you can just undock. Now with Nintendo having smartphone games, this is two areas where they are winning your time.

One of Nintendo's biggest competitors is on their own system, Fortnite. Since my nephew has started playing that money vacuum, he has not bought a single game from the eShop or on cartridge. He spends his money on v-bucks. For skins. Or emotes. He may as well just throw his money in the bin.

Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many?

Mqblank

Having never owned a PS3/4 or Xbox One, I recently took the plunge on buying a PS4 for Spider-Man and said to myself that I was not buying anymore games until I finished that. In the space of a week though I had bought Tomb Raider (£11), Watch Dogs (£8) and Life is Strange (£2.79) [This game would be perfect for Switch btw]. I was going to buy all of these games eventually and I could use the 'They were in a sale' excuse but the truth is I broke my own rule after just a week.

Re: Top Pokémon GO Player Has Account Suspended For Violating Terms Of Service

Mqblank

It's not nice to laugh at someone's misfortune but HA Ha ha. Some of these Youtubers/bloggers whatever you want to call them (I have a few choice words) believe they are better than the games they play and need bringing down a peg or two. Even his tweet seemed like a threat that himself and his followers would not come back to the game. I'm sure Niantic are quaking in their boots.

@justin233 You said that he should "Get a life", I believe the people who pay him real world money for rare characters should also be included in that statement.
