After struggling with the original 3DS BD demo, I passed on it and the following BD games. However, I did try the BD2 demo on Switch, really enjoyed it, and was looking forward to the game. However, like several posters here, I'm not thrilled with an M rating. To each their own, but I'm usually not interested in subjecting myself to content that warrants an M rating. Will check the reviews when the time comes.
I generally like metroidvanias, so put it on my wish list. May pick it up on sale due to the relatively short length and potentially frustrating (for me) difficulty. Searching around I found that it is rated Mature. @Olliemar28 based on your experience playing the game, what about it warrants a mature rating? Also, it could be helpful for NL to list ratings in the Game Profile section of reviews.
After 60 hours, still enjoying Atelier Ryza. My first Atelier game, and now that I have a better grasp of the synthesis system (a journey, not a destination), it's a little addicting. The combat system is deep and fun as well IMO. The plot and dialog ... err ... did I mention the synthesis and combat?
Looks great to me, but concerned about performance on Switch (the only current gen console I own). It may inspire me to buy another console if the reviews are good enough and the Switch version struggles. I'm guessing the James Brown inspired trailer music won't be the actual in game music.
I also hope that they are available separately in the not to distant future, since Sunshine is the only one that I am interested in. Still have Galaxy on Wii. Enjoyed 64 back in the day, but too many other games to play.
Was interested until a review on another site, as well as this one. The other site mentions survival mode vs storyteller mode, and says that the game mechanics are more interesting in survival mode, other than that 'lose all your progress' aspect. If the devs hear that repeatedly, maybe they will patch to make storyteller mode more varied. Not holding my breath. May try it on sale at some point.
After just reading this article title, my initial reaction was similar to @Agriculture . But watching the video piqued my interest. If it is reasonably priced and not 'punishingly difficult', I might give it a go.
@JimmySpades I didn't say anything about different tastes, which can be a lot of things (graphics, genre, etc.), just punishing difficulty. We'll never know, but I'm sure the people who need to make money on this game's sales hope that you are right.
Never understood the reasoning of making a game 'punishingly difficult'. I don't mind some challenge occasionally (3000th Duel my limit), but I play games for enjoyment, not stress. Apparently the developers and publishers of these overly difficult games aren't concerned about lost sales. I'm sure some gamers like the difficulty, but have to think that it is a small percentage.
I generally like RPGs, but the idea behind CC games has never appealed to me. Maybe that's why this sounds complicated and like a lot of work. Would probably try it if they release a demo.
Although I never owned a Wii U, I did play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Wii, and like several people here, would like to see the HD versions ported to Switch. Although I really enjoyed BotW overall, I was disappointed in how 'samey' the dungeons/divine beasts were. It's been a while, but I remember the dungeons of WW and TP being much more varied.
They would NOT recommend we pick this up, but still give it a 6? I only read the Conclusion and Pros/Cons, but the score doesn't seem to fit with their non-recommendation.
If it underperforms saleswise, maybe Nintendo will take it down the same path as Mario + Rabbids, 75% off on a regular basis. I'd probably try it then, or if they release a demo. Even though it has it's fans, the overall conversation about the battle system puts me off.
Between this site review calling the battles a slog, and another prominent game site review stating that the boss battles can be extremely frustrating, I'll pass. Sounds too much like my experience with Trials of Mana. The regular battles in ToM, and even some of the boss battles, were doable, but some of the boss battles were ridiculously frustrating for me. I was able to slog through several by just letting my AI party members die, but finally succumbed to 'what's the point'.
I vaguely remember trying the original Bravely Default demo on 3DS, and it was kicking my a** right out of the chute, so I passed. Probably would have passed on BD 2 without a demo, but really enjoyed and finished the demo (except for 'extra' boss at end), and look forward to it's release.
For anyone enjoying Trials of Mana demo, be warned that some of the later boss battles in full game get tough and frustrating trying to keep AI party members alive, depending on the makeup of your party. I was playing on third highest difficulty ('normal' I think) and didn't want to turn it down just to compensate for sketchy AI (IMO).
Maybe not officially hidden gems, but probably not that well known, I enjoyed and recommend 3000th Duel (challenging) and Chasm, a couple of Metroidvanias. I also agree with @Chimaj that Yoku's Island Express was a lot of fun. Pinball-vania? Who'd a thunk it.
Per Northwind's comment, not sure how soon I will be downloading any new games given the eShop credit card service remains broken after almost a week, at least in the US. I don't envy the network admins, etc. that are trying to fix this. I'm surprised that NintendoLife hasn't addressed this in a news article, at least that I have seen.

Re: Sonic Creators Bring Their New Game Balan Wonderworld To The Nintendo Switch Next March
Game looks pretty generic as 3D platformers go, but maybe top hats with eye holes will become a thing.
Re: Random: Yesterday Was National Ash Ketchum Day, Apparently
I've never played a Pokemon game, but I enjoyed Ash Ketchum vs Charles Darwin on Epic Rap Battles of History.
Re: Cuphead Gets His Own Fast Food Toy Line At Arby's Restaurants
At least their made out of paper, which should delay the coming plastic apocalypse by a few seconds.
Re: Legal Documents Suggest Monster Energy Is To Blame For Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters Name Change
I would actually consider boycotting Monster drinks if it wasn't for the fact that I have never had one and never planned to try them anyway.
