Today has seen many excitable people get their sweaty palms on Apple's new fondleslab, the iPhone X. The big deal this year is that the handset possesses an almost bezel-less display and uses newfangled Face ID technology to unlock the phone using nothing but your face.
If you're one of the many people lucky enough to get this new device then you'll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has already updated Super Mario Run so it can take advantage of that lovely 5.8-inch OLED screen.
Let us know if you've played Super Mario Run on your iPhone X by posting a comment below.

Well at least nobody buying the $1,100 phone should be complaining about the $10 SMR price.
"Play on the wide screen" seems like peculiar wording from Nintendo considering the game is locked to portrait mode.
Lol iPhone X
It looks really good on the iPhone X. Not that I play Super Mario Run that much lately but still, very nice.
crApple products. lol
$1,100 for an IPhone X ?!
Man, i can buy 3 Nintendo Switch and share the Two Switches to my friends.
@Anti-Matter and people won’t complain about the $80+ a month contract, but (maybe)$25 for switch online is too much.
I still have an iPhoneSE with a $30month deal and see no reason to pay more.
You know, remembering I have a linked Mario Run on my iPad... if I want to play with a bigger screen... we’ll its just easier to do that
Please update for the Note 8 . Would look so good to have it fit on the whole screen haha. Maybe In a couple years we will get the update, like how we got Mario Run a few months later
@tadek900 I had the xioami MI5 and while it is a good phone Xiaomi OS sucks. Too many bugs constantly.
Now have the Samsung S8 which is amazing
I got one and it only added $30 to my phone bill. I'm not footing $1200 upfront. They've made a very manageable for anyone to get it whether you want to add a small fraction to your bill or pay the whole thing upfront but it is a gorgeous phone and I for one can't wait to play Super Mario Run on it just because
@Banjos_Backpack
How do you judge one's intelligence with a product they own?
Mario Run looks really good on the iPhone X screen, Nintendo have done a great job updating it. I managed to get a perfect run on Remix 10 for the first time ever, I think my old iPhone 6 Plus was really struggling to run the game, it would often drop frames and struggle to run smoothly.
@Donutman im with you on that one. Phone pricing and plan pricing is so outrageous now. Stick to what’s reasonable or you’ll be paying through the nose in the long run.
@PtM I don’t realise you could! Mario Run ran perfectly on my 6 Plus when it launched but in the last 10 months or so performance on that phone went through the floor. I don’t think it was Mario Run’s fault, I think there was either some app running a background task that was using up all the RAM or the later iOS updates just weren’t very well optimised (or both!)
Was this not updated for android phones when they first got the 18:9 screens and isn't this game also portrait only? So extra sky box or something?
Wow. Why are people so angry about the iPhone X? I just got mine today and played a few rounds of Mario Run after rewarding this article. Looks great on the OLED screen but beyond that it’s nothing new. Probably won’t play again for a while.
I'll stick with my 250 dollar phone and my 300 switch and just play Mario Odyssey on the go.
@Banjos_Backpack calling someone an “idiot” because they like/buy a certain type of phone seems really childish & outright ridiculous.
What about the extra screen real estate for the Galaxy S8??
@Banjos_Backpack well, reading your comments, actually leaves very clear who’s the real idiot here. Nothing personal though.
Some people prefer iOS over Android because it’s just the superior OS. It’s not about the hardware but about the software.
It’s all about preferences, and calling people idiots just because they don’t share your preferences actually makes you the idiot.
@Banjos_Backpack
"So you're an idiot if you buy one because there's really no USP other than it being a piece of over priced fashion."
I smell second-degree butthurt. Better get that checked, buddy.
@Banjos_Backpack
It's up to him to buy IPhone X with more than $1000. He bought with his money. Don't call him idiot just because he can buy very expensive thing like that. That's his decision, not your decision.
Although I must agree that Apple has become a fashion statement in recent times. Coming from an Apple user, their products are too expensive for each's resources used during manufacturing, the only thing Cook has innovated is the Apple Watch, which was not the first of its kind, and all the geniuses that used to reside there are gone. Timmy fired them all. And who the HELL in God's name decided it was a good idea to move the sleep/wake button to the SIDE of the damn phone?! Stupid!
Not only that, but the Mac mini hasn't gotten an update for 4 years now, the new MacBook Pro sucks, the Mac Pro hasn't been looked at for 5 years, iTunes is fegging confusing, and the regular MacBook exists when the MacBook Air was already around. But oh boy, I'm not even finished! iOS and OS X look like something from Fisher-Price, they killed iWeb, and you don't even see any iMacs anymore when you look at a macOS advertisement. As the icing on the cake, Apple prematurely turns their past computers obsolete when they can handle new versions just fine.
Screw this. As soon as 18.04 drops, I'm moving to Ubuntu. Open source, here I come!
@Banjos_Backpack
To be fair, I wasn't actually buying anything. I just wanted to hear your stance on why exactly you worded people to be idiots when they buy phones you can't afford.
@Banjos_Backpack
It's the superior operating system because Google is nowhere to be found.
@Banjos_Backpack I'm a web developer so I work with mobile devices everyday. I find working with iOS is much easier and problem free. In my opinion (always, in my opinion, since no one holds the absolute truth) iOS is faster, more stable and infinitely more secure.
There are A LOT of people who like Apple just because right now is like a brand fashion. There are plenty of things I don't like much about Apple, to be honest (like its focus on the iPhone instead of the Mac), but in software Apple with its iOS is bounds and leaps ahead of Android.
@Banjos_Backpack
We just debunked your claim to it being inferior.
@Banjos_Backpack And that's OK. I'm not trying to convince you. Just don't call people idiots just because they don't share your opinions, that's all.
@Banjos_Backpack the iPhone X is waaaay too expensive for what it is, I won't disagree there. And, honestly, a good number of people who want to get it, is just because of the "perceived" prestige that comes with it (a really poor reason to choose a phone, in my opinion), but depending on carrier and/or country you can get that overpriced phone with very reasonable plans. For example, I can get an iPhone X in Japan paying just around $10 each month (monthly plan not included, of course), so almost anyone can afford it, not just wealthy people.
For me, I'd rather go with the iPhone 8 Plus, since I don't like bezels free screens and that black bar in the middle of the screen is just plain ugly.
@Donutman are you guys honestly comparing smart phones to game console right now?
@Banjos_Backpack
I mean Google is evil and must die. They spy on you and control what you see. A far cry from Linux's philosophies, which Android runs on.
Alphabet Inc. is one of the worst companies around.
@maruse I also find iOS much better and easier to develop on, particularly in terms of consistency across devices. Xcode with Swift produces much cleaner and concise code than Android Studio does with Java.
I recently had to develop an Android app to play images and videos in car dealerships and it was nothing but trouble trying to find tablet devices that weren’t discontinued within 6 months or not getting updates. Not to mention the fact that Android still has no kiosk mode requiring all sorts of ludicrous hacks to keep people from leaving the app.
You could always play Super Mario Run in wide-screen on another Tablet...
it's called the Wii U.
@AlternateButtons It's the choice word of pretentious douchebags.
@Banjos_Backpack Truly, the only idiot I see is you. No, seriously, just stop commenting. If you're too poor to afford an iPhone, just say so.
@Banjos_Backpack
Proof? Apple has fought the Federal Bureau of Investigation for protecting user information. Google gladly hands it out. Please don't tell me you are naive enough to think Apple is the bad one here.
@Banjos_Backpack
Likewise.
The iPhone X is $1,000! And it’s kind of [removed] in my opinion. Yeah nope, I’ll spend 1,000 on videogames instead.
@Zelda_Geek Mind your language - Octane
"The Switch is too expensive!" Buys 1,100 dollar phone
My old Galaxy S5 does basically anything the iPhone X does that I would ever want it to do - and still has a headphone jack. Not that I have anything against Apple. But the newest Galaxy phones still have headphone jacks too as far as I know. And are almost as overpriced.
