With a 3rd party game of this caliber getting the best reviews and praise of any game since released - ADVERTISING - PRIME TIME ADVERTISING - use this to your advantage and sell more consoles.
I've yet to see one advert on UK prime time TV even when MarioKart was released. Let's not waist an opportunity.
This Demo is absolutely awesome, jaw dropping visuals and heart pounding action.
On my 42" flatscreen HDTV with surround sound on full, it was as though I was playing a Sega cabinet arcade game. Never played the Bayonetta games previously but this transported me to the feelings I got playing those big Sega arcade releases.
I'm glad I have this on pre-order from day one.
This will be my game of the year I think. (Sorry Mario)
'Five themes are pre-installed' more like one theme of five different colours. 😞 Would have been nice to have had a few different themes pre installed.
What I'd like to see is the ability for users to create their own themes and upload them for others to download and rate. Like what you could do on the old DS with a mod card installed. There are a lot of talented artists out there. However I know this would most definitely not happen as I'm sure Nintendo will want full control & censorship over what themes are available.
My mouse is hovering over the cancel pre order button. But I hesitate as this is all just rumour as nothing official has been announced yet about the WiiU specific features, gamepad utilisation and DLC unless you class these Twitter messages as official Ubisoft notifications. Surely UbiSoft has a press officer that nintendolife can contact for official comment? In the meantime I'm holding off the cancellation until I know something more solid. Let's face it I can cancel anytime up to the release date, which I will do if nothing is made clearer prior to that date.
Not likely to see this or any other Nintendo add on UK TV. I think some already mentioned that it may appear once on Cartoon Network in the middle of the day when the kids are at school. Don't think I've ever witnessed since the 80's and 90's prime time, prime channel Nintendo advertising.
@Action51 Thought as much. That it was a fake. Can't imagine Ubi ever working on a Wii version. Was amazed the WiiU version made it to the release. Trouble is we don't need this fakery when we don't even have Real WiiU footage. I suppose it was funny for the person who made it to ridicule us Nintendo users.
Check out this YouTube video it purports to show leaked footage of the Wii version , yes I said Wii version not the WiiU of Watchdogs. It also shows you the disks of both WiiU and Wii versions.
Personally I think it's made up and I'd hate to think the footage shown is really the WiiU.
What do others think?
This announcement appears to be a knee jerk reaction to the Mexico leak, and as such is very bland in its information. Everyone is damming this game due to it only having off TV play and a map on the pad to show for the five month delay. Yes i too would be standing beside you all with my plackard if that was confirmed as 100% from the horses mouth. However the reviewer states 'cited so far' and I can't find anywhere an official press release from Ubi detailing the WiiU specifics of this version. I'm hoping Ubi will now drip feed gameplay footage of the WiiU version including the pad specifics in the coming months and release review copies prior to release date so I can make an informed choice as to cancel my pre order or not. Here's hoping.
I hope they provide review copies prior to release dates. I have had it on pre order since day 1. As if it's a shoddy port with no specific WiiU exclusives on game pad that would excuse the delay then I will cancel prior to it being released. However I have a sneak feeling that they will do what Activision did with Ghosts on WiiU in terms of it was released weeks ahead of any review so all those who pre ordered it will get it without knowing if it's good or not. The least they should do now is release WiiU specific gameplay videos, graphics etc and start the WiiU promotion again.
Why oh why did I waist my money on two circle pad pro's. One for my original 3DS then another when I upgraded to the XL. It's only ever been used for Resi Evil.
"Holy no DLC Batman"! "Yes Robin my scarlet and green sidekick, it's another dastidely attempt by those master criminals the Warner Brothers to upset those good citizens of the WiiU persuasion" "To the Batmobile" Dina dina dina Batman! Tune in next month to see if the caped crusader and his sidekick can defeat the evil crime syndicate known as the 'Third party developers'!
I've had and still have this on pre-order since day of announcement. On my iPhone Game app it list all my pre-orders with a timer count down to release in days. For watchdogs it states 116 days until release which translates to 31/12/14. This is probably because it's the last day of 2014 and the App won't go into 2015 but who knows! I will without a shadow if a doubt cancel the preorder if the previews (if and when we get some) or reviews are mediocre or negative. As to wait this long beyond the mainstream release I expect nothing less than full on WiiU specific integration and optimisation and basically the best game Ubisoft have ever released on WiiU. Don't want much do I!
Let's hope retailers or Nintendo offer an upgrade / trade in scheme like they did when the 3DSxl was released. If they do then I'm a day one purchaser.
Me too. I had completed this on the 3DS. So I don't feel the need to purchase it for the WiiU if it's the same bar HD visuals. Great game though and recommend it if you haven't played it.
This was expected from the day of announcement that this game exist.
What bothers me is the comment by Activision spokesperson which I interpret is that they are saying 'Nintendo is for children and casual gamers'.
I'm neither and I have always been a Nintendo user buying my consoles on launch day along with a gaming laptop for MMO's. However if this trend continues I can't ignore it and I'm now doubting that I will purchase the next Nintendo Console on day of launch and wait six months to a year having observed the games/developer commitment and if it's looking like the trend is inherited then I will look elsewhere or call time on my life of consoles.
"Not coming to WiiU". Get used to those words as it appears this is going to be the norm for any game not made by Nintendo, Nintendo affiliate or eShop indies. The latest being today's COD announcement.
I don't expect to see any advertising for this or any other WiiU title in the UK. I have this on pre order only through the coverage on this site and Nintendo Direct.
Good to see Watch Dogs is still being mentioned as coming to the WiiU. Just shame no further info such as a Date!!! Or some video or WiiU details on the game.
I bought both Assasins Creed titles and I only have and ever had Nintendo systems. I also bought ZombiU. I understand though that I'm in the minority as most intense/hardcore gamers either don't own a Ninty console or owns one of the other brands for their mature gaming requirements. I however refuse to do this. I do think though that's a rather sweeping stereotyping statement to be made.
I have this on indefinite preorder along with watchdogs. I fully expect it to be cancelled as I do with Watchdogs, however I live in hope. I believe there are no WiiU screenshots or official WiiU footage (not the YouTube WiiU simulation on a PC footage) as the WiiU version hasn't even got off the ground. What I don't understand is that why doesn't a representative if NintendoLife or any other Nintendo magazine/website make an official approach to the developer to get a response to the issue. Slightly Mad studios could easily quash the doubters by going on record and releasing something exclusive to the WiiU. I suppose the same goes for Watchdogs.
'Crazy 8'! I've had this game since launch day and I've never had one of these. Didn't even know it existed. Well I've learnt something from this video.

As I moved through all my Nintendo consoles from the SNES to present day I expected that evolution to be repeated through its games. Unfortunately I haven't seen that with the WiiU yet. I say yet as I am looking forward to bayanetta, project X, splatoon etc however these are not made by indie eShop developers and I'm yet to see them really take a risk with the WiiU. Why oh why are developers churning out retro games that could be run on an Amiga. Surely this is bad news for the WiiU as it is being typecast as a machine that's only good enough for games that 1990's hardware could run. I'm all for FPS games but do they have to be retro. Can't an indie make a realistic / modern FPS that isn't COD. Does it really need a Hollywood style budget?? Why not update a 90's FPS to actually use the power of the WiiU. @JaxonH I you look at their website and forum you'll see the information that this project was not crowd funded, it was funded by groups of businesses or something like that. It's been a while since I read the stuff. I read it when they announced the delayed the WiiU version as people were shouting that WiiU owners had paid for the development via crowd funding and how dare they delay the WiiU so they put and explanation on their site disputing the game was crowd funded. It was an interesting read.
I'm still not going to re-purchase it. I sold it due to lack of DLC and to purchase Ghosts. I don't understand why they are now supporting this yet still ignoring Ghosts.
Ha Ha Ha Ha! Two years too bloody late. I sold my Black Ops 2 and now have Ghosts (although that's collecting dust on the shelf due to boredom with waiting for any of the DLC that other consoles have). Surely releasing some more for their current COD on WiiU would have been sensible?
@Mooj738 I did the same and like you I won't be buying any future CoD titles on WiiU as I am fed up of the lack of support for DLC on these games when DLC is such a major part of what this game is. The only thing that would change my mind would be advance confirmation that full DLC will be available. However I'm a realist and know this will never happen so my money will be staying in my pocket.
They have a new video on the website home page, which introduces you to all the team and they introduce themselves and their role within the team & game. (Including the script writer of Stalker series). It also takes you inside their studio. Make of it what you will.
Love the two player fusion kart, an evolution from the GameCube version of MK. That would have worked well on WiiU as one player would use the TV whilst the other the game pad when fused.
Just last week, I got several posts putting me down when I made comment about this game and the fact that no official game footage has been released and that the WiiU footage on YouTube was simulated WiiU PC footage. Well I hate to say it but "I Told You So".
However Game.co.uk still have my pre-order as November 2014 and checking the official website I couldn't find any reference to the game release being put back on WiiU, however to be fair other than the WiiU logo at the bottom of the page and the reference that the game is coming to WiiU, there is absolutely no information about this game for the WiiU. Give a couple of months and it will be cancelled, Shame as it was a pre-order must buy for me.
This looks like an alternative to the COD series. Will I buy it? Yes as soon as I see it listed on Game i'll be pre-ordering it. Will it sell more WiiU systems, well this all comes down to the advertising and pre-release hype and exposer behind the game. If this is promoted like watchdog was prior to its release and shouted out loud that its a WiiU exclusive (as some people I have mentioned this to still believe its coming to Xbox), then maybe this will attract a few more console sales.
I'm wondering if with this version is more likely to be patched / updated via automatic downloads by Ninty to improve the faults with Boxing. I've noticed games like pikmin, wonderful 101 have all received automatic updates to rectify issues.
@ScorpionMG Can't understand your over reaction to a factual post with a rightly held opinion. The link was not WiiU gameplay - fact. The other YouTube videos online that claim WiiU gameplay state they are simulated using WiiU settings on pc - fact. I even said they looked great but not as good as the E3 official video, which is to be expected as that video was from another higher spec platform. There are no official WiiU released footage or details of what the WiiU version of this game has - fact. I wasn't disputing the WiiU version wouldn't be amazing the game is on my preorder list for the WiiU I never cast dispersions on the game nor said I'm not going to buy it nor did my last post attempt to discourage others to buy it. I expressed a personal opinion that I will not get too excited about the hype until I've seen official WiiU details and gameplay footage running on a WiiU. So your childish outburst about 'I'm one of the reasons 3rd part devs don't make games on WiiU' has no founding and I'd question which if our posts was full of crap!
@epicdude12302 Don't believe all that you see on YouTube. That link I'd be 90% certain is not WiiU gameplay, due to the publish date and the fact that other more recent ie 2014 YouTube videos only show WiiU simulation gameplay. ie the game running on a PC with the settings changed to simulate the WiiU and these videos don't look anywhere near as classy as the link you posted. (They look good, but no where near the graphical level of the E3 videos)
Until I see an officially released WiiU gameplay video with details of what the game has on the WiiU I'm not going to get too excited about all the hype.
This will be a definite purchase, as long as there is some skill involved in it and not just a one button masher like the LOTR gamess on the cube. Oh and it gets a good review.

Re: Goodbye Galaxy Games Reveals First Teaser Image of Wii U FPS

@ricklongo
The point I was trying to make was the WiiU in my opinion is quickly being typecast as a console that only has retro style games being developed by indies, when this console is capable of much more. I doubt it even breaks a sweat running these games.
As someone in his mid forties, I've lived through & played and enjoyed the 8bit then 16bit then 32bit etc eras and there was a reason those bit numbers increased over the years, progress.
So why now are we regressing?
Don't get me wrong I have some if my all time favourite games from those eras and I still have them in my game shelf, but I bought a WiiU as an evolution from the Wii as I purchased the Wii as an evolution from the cube and so forth.
It's just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone.
Re: Goodbye Galaxy Games Reveals First Teaser Image of Wii U FPS
Why oh why are developers churning out retro games that could be run on an Amiga. Surely this is bad news for the WiiU as it is being typecast as a machine that's only good enough for games that 1990's hardware could run.
I'm all for FPS games but do they have to be retro. Can't an indie make a realistic / modern FPS that isn't COD. Does it really need a Hollywood style budget??
Why not update a 90's FPS to actually use the power of the WiiU. I'd like to see Alien Breed 3D (Team17) updated to utilise the WiiU, or a new Conduit 3!, or the latest Quake or Wolfstien.
I know it's easier and quicker to stick to 8/16bit graphic style, but why have a next gen machine only to have games, even if they are new ideas, looking like games i played on my Comodore 20+ years ago.

Re: James Pond: Robocod Reboot No Longer Coming To Wii U
@Nintenjoe64 Would be great to see a reboot of Alien Breed from Team 17, however like System 3 I don't think they would support WiiU.
I think System 3 don't view WiiU as a current format with a future and that's why they won't support WiiU.
I preferred this game on the old Amiga.

There are no official WiiU released footage or details of what the WiiU version of this game has - fact.
I wasn't disputing the WiiU version wouldn't be amazing the game is on my preorder list for the WiiU
I never cast dispersions on the game nor said I'm not going to buy it nor did my last post attempt to discourage others to buy it.
Re: Bandai Namco Picks up Project CARS for Worldwide Distribution
Re: Here's Another Huge Batch of Hyrule Warriors Screens to Enjoy
This will be a definite purchase, as long as there is some skill involved in it and not just a one button masher like the LOTR gamess on the cube. Oh and it gets a good review.
Re: E3 2014: Devil's Third Confirmed As Wii U Exclusive
Yes this is now on my pre-order list.
