Re: Best Nintendo Switch Card Games, Board Games And Deck Builders

@Brumblescope
Glad you’re enjoying it too. Yeah, it feels like every run on the lowest level is beatable, which is a huge change from Slay the Spire or most roguelikes in general.
I am one win away from having beaten every single combination of clans including the 6th clan that is DLC. I have only beaten Covenant Level 1 so far, but it is a notable increase in difficultly even just going up to that level.
My next focus will be on beating all covenant levels.
After that I will try to beat the full DLC with the extra boss after Seraph.
It will occupy me for well over 100 hours. Money well spent to me.

@P3nguinpris0N
That’s where I played it first too. Once I beat it for the first time it was announced it was coming to switch, so I purposely waited to play it again until it came to switch.
If you like Slay the Spire you will like it a lot. It’s faster paced and takes some time to learn the buffing systems, but it’s pretty amazing. I can’t stop playing it.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Baldo Review?

@SwitchVogel
That’s pretty surprising. I’m not sure if the titular train runs on steam, but I do hope can get a review sometime. It is charting well on the eShop (digital only) as well, so I’m kind of surprised at the perceived lack of interest or momentum.
Thanks for letting me know though. I guess I’ll stop hoping for it. 😜

Re: Soapbox: Life Is Strange On Nintendo Switch Signals Better LGBTQ+ Rep To Come

I think one problem I have with the way a game like Stardew Valley handles this sort is issue is this.
When you choose who you want to court (regardless of gender), they will be happy to oblige regardless of whatever their own personal preference may be. It’s as if everyone is bisexual and simply waiting for you to give them guidance as to which direction to tip the scales. In reality, if another man approached me with romantic interest, I would politely inform him that I am heterosexual.
I know it’s just a game, but the fluidity of sexual preference in that game in particular struck me as odd.

Re: It's Been Three Years Since We First Embarked On A Super Mario Odyssey

This game was such a huge disappointment. Playing through the Mario 3D All-Stars Collection helped me realize why.
Getting a star used to feel like a real accomplishment, and it was the fruit of determination through very challenging tasks. In SMO, there were so many moons that required zero effort (pounding the ground when the controller rumbles for instance) that it cheapened the entire experience for me.
Also, the music was so incredible in former Mario games, and it all fit so well. Mario Galaxy’s soundtrack is a masterpiece. I found that I had to play SMO muted because the music grated on me.
I know there are mercilessly hard moons to collect, but SMO was the most disappointing game I can remember in my gaming life.

Re: Rumour: This Year's 'Budget' Switch Could Take The 2DS Route And Ditch A Killer Feature

As someone who bought a second switch for my kids this Christmas, I would say the biggest issue is the inability to share digital purchases between the two switches.
I can re-download games I bought on the second switch, but they can only be played if the game is launched with my profile.
The second issue is that some games don’t support cloud saves, so I had to start a second Splatoon 2 account on the second switch to play with my kids.
If they adopt the iOS model of purchase sharing, this could be HUGE. Right now having 2 switches is a big hassle.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want From A Switch Mini?

KevinLo9

I just want Nintendo to allow game sharing across your family plan.
It caused a lot of problems when I incorporated two Switches into our home at Christmas that could have been avoided completely if they simply let me play games I purchased on my primary switch on my secondary.
Technically “I” can, but my kids would have to re-purchase games like Minecraft if they don’t want to be forced to play on my profile.
It’s just unnecessarily complicated. Allow for game sharing within your family plan, make the mini version sans dock and it will sell like the DS.
I know it’s selling well now, but I feel like most sales thus far have been purchased as “household consoles” rather than “personal consoles”. This would make that incredibly tempting.

Re: New Mario + Rabbids Donkey Kong DLC Trailer Introduces Rabbid Cranky And New Ways To Play

This is one of my favorite games for the Switch and I will definitely be getting into this new chapter. I hope it is designed for the high levels that your characters have reached at this point. If they don't, I'll just have to start a new file and play it on the new one I guess.
I really was hoping they would put the PvP battles online, and I'm not sure why they haven't really...
