We were pretty sure it was Espinas and Mizu variant for the ones in the silhouette. Most suspected the brown Espinas from Frontier, but this is entirely new!
Wonder what the other monsters will be that aren't shown in the silhouette? Hmm...
@OwenGamer22 7% is the biggest increase since Prime 20 years ago. I'd say thats pretty substantial
Keep in mind, this poll is asking hard-core Nintendo fans who frequent a Nintendo fansite. Most of us were already into Metroid. I'd imagine most new players that Dread brought in are gamers who aren't long time Nintendo fans. People outside this little bubble. Clearly it had to given its sold around 3 million copies, and Samus Returns barely cracked half a million. The vast majority of players who bought the older titles decades ago probably aren't gaming anymore. So the series needed to bring in new fans. Seems like it's done that.
I'm partial to Wave Race 64, but it could be that it just impressed me more in that first generation of 3D games, and the water was mind blowing at the time, too. Couldn't believe how real it looked.
Portal 2 is one of the greatest video games of all time.
And it's incredible having these games on a hybrid handheld OLED system. Setting up tabletop and detaching the controllers and playing at work... muah! So good.
Back in the mid 2000s I'd watch my brother play Metroid Prime all day, 10 hrs a day every day, from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. I wasn't a gamer at the time but was thoroughly captivated by his playthrough.
Went out and bought a Platinum GameCube with Metroid Prime 1 and 2 and binged for a month straight. I was actually playing so much I started having dreams of the Ing. No joke.
When the Wii released, I had to buy one- not for Zelda Twilight Princess (I didn't know what Zelda was), but for Metroid Prime 3 Corruption.
That led to playing Zelda TP which I loved to death, and DKC Returns which I loved to death.
@Ralizah Idk how far you are, but Im at the end of chapter 4, at Level 49, and suddenly enemies jumped from 39 to THREE level 43 Unique Bosses you must fight simultaneously, as they block the main story path.
I suspect I'd be struggling with this if I didn't have those levels.
On another note, I beat two of them and then the game crashed with an error. First crash in years I can recall. Thankfully auto save put me right back before the 3 Uniques.
@Ralizah Wow. I used all my bonus XP up until Level 40 when I realized I was starting to get overleveled. At Lv 50 I'm about 10 over, having done essentially all sidequests up to this point. I only skipped Bonus XP for the last 10 levels or so. You must do a lot more battling than I do.
I think skipping most battles will help (and there's usually a mid game difficulty spike that should help even things out). Barring all that, Hard mode is always an option.
@larryisaman Xenoblade thrives on its depth. This is an RPG for those who want something more to sink their teeth into than basic, run of the mill RPGs. For RPG vets, depth is needed to engage the player.
I understand it's a lot to take in if you're new, but once you master it, it's SOOO rewarding. Chain attacks are a crucial staple of series combat and this game does it better than ever.
If you want to get a grasp, this is an excellent tutorial rundown of how chain attacks work.
@FettucciniAlf The game is doing it RIGHT. People complained XC2 wasn't explained well enough and the tutorials needed to be more accessible. They've done that. If you don't want to read them and think you can figure everything out on your own (which I don't recommend, but you do you) you can turn off tutorial tips from the menu.
They literally give you the choice, so there's no reason to complain. Don't wanna see em? Just turn em off. Problem solved. Just don't come complaining later if you're lost, confused and don't know what to do.
The sidequests in this game are a cut above. They're meatier, meaningful and engaging. And there are far fewer, so you don't feel completely overwhelmed. I'm kind of shocked given the tedious fetch Quests of previous entries. They really did step it up in XC3.
@Ralizah I'm about to start Chapter 5, am level 48, and have done all but 2 sidequests in the game, as they are around Lv 57 Quests.
My tip is don't use bonus XP. Just bank it and skip most fights until the level gap shrinks. I'm about 10 levels over atm and thank goodness for it, because some of these bosses I've encountered along the way have tested me to my limits. I have a good 6-7 levels banked though, to use later if needed.
Despite the mediocre reception my brother swears by this game. Says it's fantastic (granted, he's a fan of the anime so there's that).
I told him I'd pass unless a Switch version were to release. Lo and behold, here is that Switch version
And frankly, the footage looks excellent. Whatever team ported this game seems to know what they're doing. Bandai Namco has been on a roll lately with Switch ports. DragonBall Z Kakarot was also a very impressive release, against all odds.
And if you think me expressing a different opinion than you constitutes "trolling" (in fact I was never even talking to you) I'm just going to block you now.
I don't have time for these childish arguments. Find someone else to aggravate, kid.
I'm talking about categorization. How you categorize is completely irrelevant to whether the story has been changed. The game is what it is. How you voluntarily choose to label it after the fact it meaningless, pointless semantics.
And frankly, I don't care if some ppl find changes unplayable. Oh well, they can not play it then. Can't make everyone happy.
Who cares how you compartmentalize and label it. The game looks fantastic- that's what matters. All new character assets, backgrounds, music redone, voice work... as far as I'm concerned this is a remake. But if you wanna classify as a really high quality remaster, that works too. Doesn't change what it tangibly is.
I'm so glad this is coming to Switch, too. This game was originally designed as a handheld spinoff to complement the main game. Switch is the perfect platform. The graphics are also in that sweet spot of what Switch can handle.
Been waiting over 5 years for a high quality Final Fantasy on Switch. Which, don't get me wrong. Final Fantasy X is my fave FF game of all time. So getting a version of that which was basically identical to the PS4 version was a massive win (I first played on Vita and loved it, but visually there was a huge disparity). And getting Final Fantasy XII on top of it. Heck yes. But this will be a more modernized release, re-built with new assets and all that. I love it.
Even with dropped sales they're still selling more than PS4 ever did in its best year without shortages.
As long as they keep banging 20+ million a year, the record is only a matter of time. They'll be at 127m sold next March, after 6 years. At which point they'll only need to crawl to hit the last 28m needed. That's an easy 15m for year 7, and 13m for year 8.
The only way Switch doesn't become the best selling console of all time is if Nintendo themselves interrupts its momentum with a new generation prematurely.
Portal 2 is one of my all time favorite video games.
I rented it for 360 over a decade ago in a halfway house with this 17 year old kid who had a 360. His mom drove us to Blockbuster and we rented it, binged on it all weekend.
I've been desperately waiting for a handheld version. Then a week before I got my Steamdeck, it released on Switch. And wow, these games look and play incredible on Switch OLED.
These are games you simply cannot miss. In fact, you're not even really a gamer until you've played the Portal games. Hey, I don't make the rules.
This is incredible. We've never had a system like this before in MH.
Min maxing armor to squeeze out an extra skill or reduce elemental weakness will make anomoly Quests even better to grind out.
I love the difficulty of the anomoly Quests too. The A1 are super easy. But A2 hit pretty hard for being Royal Ludroth and Tetranadon, etc. I'm in my fully upgraded endgame mix set and they can knock my health pretty hard.
I can only imagine how satisfying the higher level anomoly monsters will be, especially the ones coming in title updates? I feel shivers down my spine. It's gonna be a return to Lv 140 Guild Quest Kushala from MH4U. I love it.
Except in this case, I can personally attest to the fact I've watched and followed this account for 2 months now, and have seen their posts in real time with specific info, then watched it come to pass.
So one thing is certain- they're not making guesses and deleting after the fact. That only works once before anyone follows you. This person is legit.
@rjejr Surprised you guys don't all have your own Switch at this point. Local wireless is definitely a thing. Can't tell you how many times me and my brother played Splatoon 2 in local wireless.
@rjejr Always welcome to come join us in Sunbreak. Me and Ralizah and Ulysses just had a ton of great hunts today. Got a Lunagaron Mantle, then a Zinogre Skymerald, then a Bazelgeuse Mantle... been on a roll lately. I love that your palico can pilfer materials now if you use a Gathering type. Half my mantles have been from them pilfering. And I'm convinced they have a hidden feature where feeding the baby owlet before a quest slightly increases you drop rates. Cause as soon as I stopped, I hit a dry spell. Started feeding him again, bam. More mantles.
@rjejr I hopped into Splatoon 2 a couple months ago, since I'd accidentally lost my save file when migrating to the OLED and wanted to start a new save, and ended up sinking over 100 hrs in a hard-core binge. Only thing to watch out for is Splatfests.
FFX definitely holds up. I replayed it when the Switch version dropped. I love that game. The perfect turn based JRPG. Remember playing on Vita. It was my first ever JRPG- I'd bounced off it at release having not understood the appeal of the genre, but after Fire Emblem Awakening converted me on turn based, gave it another shot and loved every minute. Being new to the genre though, that Yunalesca fight felt insanely hard. In a way that felt insanely satisfying to overcome. When I replayed, after years of JRPGs, it wasn't anywhere close to as hard as I remembered it being. Best skill tree of any RPG btw
I get the appeal of Fortnite, it's just not my thing. Kinda surprised it's yours, though.
@Shredderlovespizza That's cool. Technology keeps marching forward. So one day you'll have your wish. But at the current moment, I don't think it's a matter of "better" so much as "preference" and "chosen direction". Portable systems with a starting price of $199 that are this small and lightweight and have 5+ hours battery life for AAA games, just aren't capable of outputting what you want. But it'll get there eventually. If not the next generation then definitely the one after that.
@RushDawg You're baiting me now, refusing to go about your business.
I respect your opinion, but it's not fact. The problem is you're not respecting others opinions. You don't seem me going to the Elden Ring comment section to boast about how much better Switch games are. That's the key difference.
So yes, your opinion is irrelevant. Congrats, you like Elden Ring more. Good for you. Many here don't. So your opinion is irrelevant. It doesn't change how ppl feel. They're not flaunting their opinion over yours in the Elden Ring thread, so why are you coming here flaunting yours?
That said, I'm done. I've been done, but you keep responding. So I'll just block you. Reply all you want, but I won't be able to read it.
@RushDawg I told you I'm done, I'm not sure why you're responding to me still
And for the record, Nintendo is absolutely blowing everyone else away. And not just by a little bit. You don't have to agree, but enough ppl feel the same that your opinion on the matter is, frankly, irrelevant. If you're truly not console warring, that shouldn't bother you.
@RushDawg Ok it's clear to me now this is indeed childish console warring. It has nothing to do with multiplat, everything to do with coming into a Bayonetta article to declare how great Elden Ring is and how Nintendo can't compete.
And no, there is no game objectively better or worse. Just mass agreement. Most would have the opinion Shaq Fu is worse, but that doesn't make it objective, no matter how many agree.
Bottom line is, this article isn't about Elden Ring. Going off topic to lord the game over Nintendo Switch gamers, declaring it "objectively better" is something I expect from 10 year olds on Twitter.
I don't have time for it. I was under the impression you'd be receptive to a civil, reasonable response but, clearly I was wrong.
@Shredderlovespizza I mean that's fine, everyone has their preferences. But then I have to wonder why you're here on a Switch fansite when it's a low cost portable system that isn't going to provide what you're looking for. All you're gonna do is complain about everything not being what you want and irritate members.
I play games at 4k 60 and have absolutely zero issues playing a lower res and lower framerate game afterward. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
@rjejr It's so hard. I got really sucked into Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, but had to backlog it when Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak dropped. And then Portal Companion Collection released- my dream games on Switch. Been wanting them handheld for 10 yrs! But couldn't play because Monster Hunter.
This may be the first Xenoblade Chronicles game I don't play day 1. I'll buy it day 1. Already got the CE. But I won't be able to play it. Not gonna be finished with Monster Hunter. And by the time I am finished (accounting for first title update next month) it'll be Splatoon 3 time. That may also be the first Splatoon game I don't play day one.
And then Persona 5 Royal, Nier Automata, Bayonetta 3, Mario Rabbids and Harvestella all in 30 days? Man... it's like every game I've been dying to get on Switch is all hitting at once.
I could legitimately not buy a single game in 2023, and be good all year long just catching up on backlog from 2022.
@rjejr It does look good, doesn't it? Nice and crisp, too. They definitely squeezed more out of Switch with this than they did the Wii U with Bayonetta 2.
You always did like Bayonetta. That's good. I do too. Between this and Nier Automata that's two Platinum games on the hybrid handheld OLED in the same month! With Persona 5 Royal too (which I tried to get you into for so long, I've given up on that now). And Mario Rabbids. And No Man's Sky and Harvestella. All within 30 days. Absolutely insane lineup
BTW if you haven't played Portal 1/2 I highly recommend it. Only $20 for the pair, full 1080p 60 fps with gyro aiming. 2 of the greatest games ever made.
@Shredderlovespizza So happy it's on Nintendo's amazing hardware. God knows I can't stand 4k when it means being tethered to a single screen. And even Steamdeck isn't a better option thanks to poor battery life and no OLED screen.
@RushDawg Putting our personal opinions aside though, I think any reasonable person would agree that Elden Ring is the front runner for Game of the Year 2022 and that Kirby (as great as it is) is not a serious contender.
While I agree Elden Ring is a lock and nothing from Nintendo this year will challenge it, I also find such discussion utterly pointless. Games are entertainment. Just because one game hits it off more with popularity doesn't mean it's "objectively better". It's all opinion at the end of the day. Elden Ring is a good game, and I admit I liked it more than Dark Souls because it didn't force you to fight certain bosses that were frustrating. But it still lost my interest after a few hours. No matter how good the graphics are, its essentially just another Souls game to me, which are dime a dozen these days. I've never liked Souls games much. Too frustrating. So while I acknowledge it's a finely crafted game and certainly popular, touting it's GotY award lock just seems like silly console warring to me.
As far as I'm concerned, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is one of the greatest video games of all time, and easily in my top 5 shortlist. I also suspect Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be one of the best JRPGs Ive ever played, as the first and X is. And I suspect Splatoon 3 will be even better than 2, and Splatoon 2 is in my top 20 of all time. Portal 1/2 are in my top 5 best games of all time and those just dropped also. Persona 5 Royal and Nier Automata also top 20, both dropping this Oct. Bayonetta 2 is my fave action game of all time. I expect Bayo 3 to surpass it (hopefully). Mario Rabbids is one of my favorite Strategy games, and the new one looks even better. Triangle Strategy is arguably my favorite grid based strategy title ever, tied with Fire Emblem Awakening and Three Houses. Speaking of which, even Fire Emblem Warriors Three Houses was way more fun to me than Elden Ring.
Thats not to knock Elden Ring. I understand it's appeal, and frankly I think it deserves GotY just because of how many ppl like it. But that's still not objective fact. And for many Switch gamers, there are at least a dozen games this year that rank well above Elden Ring. Because different ppl like different things.
I just don't get what you're trying to accomplish by insisting others acknowledge Elden Ring is "better". It's not. Many ppl prefer it, but on the flip side many don't. It's a great game and if it's your thing I'm happy for you. Enjoy. But believe me, I'm happier with the Switch lineup this year than any game console I've ever owned, and I've owned them all (and do own them all- I have PS5, XSX, PC, Steamdeck and Switch OLED).
@Gamer83
It has been an exceptionally great year for Switch, hasn't it?
Triangle Strategy was a banger. I wasn't expecting that after Bravely Default 2 and Octopath (I like those games, but they're not masterpiece caliber).
Switch Sports was also a must have I've been begging for these past 5 years. Can't wait for golf to release.
Mario Strikers had some issues with lacking content, but it's still a fun game.
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes is incredible. WAY better than I was expecting. Like, just as good as Three Houses. I'm impressed.
Portal Companion Collection is a dream come true. Been my holy grail for 10 years now ever since I bought Vita on launch day.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is... let's just say it's in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Maybe my #1 but I'm not ready to declare that just yet.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 previews are hype. It sounds like it's going to be a classic.
Splatoon 3 is also hype. Splatoon is one of my absolute favorite games. I recently started a new save file in Splatoon 2 on my OLED, and "just start a quick save file" turned into 100 hr binge in no time.
Live A Live is a nice little score. Not as good as Triangle Strategy from what I played, but still good, and many are excited for it.
Bayonetta 3 is now slated for October, and with 2 being my fave action game I'm more than ready
Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope is also October. First game was fire. I expect nothing less here.
Persona 5 Royal, Nier Automata and No Man's Sky are all coming to Switch in October as well. How long have we been asking for these games on Switch? It still feels surreal.
Harvestella looks like the Rune Factory 5 we should have gotten. I'm actually kind of blown away by how good this game looks.
Dragon Quest Treasures is releasing this year too. I love DQ spinoffs! Looks very similar to DQ Monsters.
Pokemon Scarlet + Violet actually look like a true step forward for the series. The graphics comparisons between the same mon in Sword + Shield is night and day. After Arceus, I'm actually excited for this. Here's to hoping you can still throw Pokeballs with gyro aiming.
And there's so much more on the way. Diofield Chronicles looks great. Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core looks great. We've got new title updates for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak on the way.
Ppl keep saying this year has been lame, and I'm like.... not if you're a Switch owner! This year is off the rails!
The impressive part isn't that the games run it's how well they run
Portal and Portal 2 only did 720p 30fps on Xbox 360 with imperfect frame pacing. And yet here on Switch, they pull a full native 1080p docked at 60fps, with excellent frame pacing.
It's essentially the exact same experience you'd get on the Deck, except with a far superior OLED screen and more battery life on a lighter, more portable system that can also easily dock and play in tabletop mode.
It's the definitive version of two of the greatest video games of all time.
@parkinho Oh I know the feeling. But imo, this isn't a game to skip on. Neither is Portal Companion Collection. Games like this only come a few times every generation.
@PerishSong Ya. But you do fight Daimyo Hermitaur right away, and then Orange Bishaten for MR1 to MR2 urgent. I'm actually glad they kept as many as possible back loaded. The fewer wasted slots in early tier the better. But it was good they had a couple at least.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is easily my new favorite Monster Hunter game, and Rise was already on par with World as one of my favorite games of all time.
Not to mention Portal Companion Collection- 2 other GOATs I've been trying to get on handheld for 10 years now. It feels like I just got hammered with multiple games that fall in my Top 10 Ever list.
I'm savoring every moment of Sunbreak. Every last juicy quest. Not rushing through it. Too good for that. I'm doing every quest in the game, one by one. Just beat the mid-MR2 Urgent Quest and a couple more after. Currently sporting the Blood Orange Bishaten armor set + Switch Axe.
Though I did commit to use a new weapon this game- Great Sword. I was using the Daimyo Hermitaur armor + Greatsword but there wasn't an Orangaten GS to craft. I'll switch back to GS on the next armor set I craft.
Instant classic. Will surely be a timeless masterpiece talked about for years to come when Switch is long gone as a legacy platform.
1) Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak 2) Portal Companion Collection 3) Triangle Strategy 4) Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes 5) Neon White
The first two are miles beyond everything else. Like, the two greatest video game purchases I've made in my entire life, over 30 years of actual gaming.
The next three are still well beyond anything else I've played this year. Just... not on the same level as the two GOATs
If THIS game can't get a 10, then nothing deserves to. We're talking about 2 of the most critically acclaimed video games of all time. OF ALL TIME.
I've played these games at least 3 times. In fact the Christmas before last I sat down and played Portal 2 again from start to finish with my brother watching and helping.
This is the easiest day 1 I've ever seen in my life. The games look INSANELY good on the OLED screen, the HD rumble, the gyro aiming, the native res at 60fps...
Its so good on Switch. I literally bought a Vita 10 yrs ago hoping to get Portal on handheld. I ordered a Steamdeck but Switch OLED has a better screen, way longer battery life, smaller and lighter, easily docks and has tabletop with detachable controllers. I was prepared to play on Steamdeck if I had no better option, but now I do.
@SwitchVogel That's subject to personal interpretation.
People said Rise was "shorter than World" yet I have 600 hrs in Rise vs 120 in base world. The official credits roll sooner, that is true. But getting to official credits isn't the end of the game. It's the end of the tutorial and beginning of the real game. I imagine similar rationales might be used for Sunbreak.
Having said that, Iceborne was massive and the Guiding Lands leveling up meant insane hours if you wanted it. Sunbreak doesn't have a system like that, but it does have more Quests than the entire base game of Rise. And if I got 600 hrs from that, I'm quite sure I'll get at least 600 from Sunbreak.
Not to mention Sunbreak has true endgame that doesn't even start until MR100 when the final monster is unlocked, and afflicted monster end game grind is in full swing.
Ultimately, is it bigger or shorter than Iceborne? I don't know. But I don't think it really matters. It's massive... Insanely massive. Massive enough that I don't think anyone is going to feel it "doesn't have enough content". Especially with 3 confirmed title updates adding around 4 monsters each, new arena, new Quests, and even more title updates in 2023.
@CANOEberry Ah, you're referring to the main article.
I was responding to another individual who made the claim that they were "tired of all the whining for this game on Switch".
In my response, in order to build rapport, I conceded that could indeed be aggravating, but then went on to point out why people had been wanting these games so badly.
So I never really brought it up, I only made a passing comment about it in response to someone else accusing ppl of "whining"
That being said, I do think gamers have a tendency to whine about things. What constitutes "whining" imo? I'd say repeatedly making complaints over and over again at any given opportunity. Saying something once should suffice. Repeating it ad nauseum does constitute whining imo.
However, I don't think it's fair to accuse most of this with regard to Persona. People just really wanted it, and you're supposed to voice your demand for things if you want it. So all the people nagging Atlus on Twitter about it, I say good for them. That's exactly what they should be doing. A closed mouth doesn't get fed. If ppl don't like hearing it, they can block those users and that's the end of it.
Most of the actual, legitimate whining I've observed, is in forums and fan site comment sections, where people complain about something even when it's off topic, and they repeat those complaints at every opportunity. Like with $60 games. I'd see people make the same comment 7 different times on 7 different articles about a game leading up to its release. Once is fine, but by the 7th article it's like dude... respectfully, shut it already. We're sick of hearing it. If the game isn't worth $60 to you, then don't buy it. Or wait for a sale. That is a clear cut case of whining in my view.
Voicing demand to a developer/publisher, on the other hand, is necessary. Many use derogatory terms such as "port begging" to dissuade people from doing it, but the motive behind it is usually, in my experience, console warring fanboys who secretly fear its going to work, and they want their special game to stay exclusive so they can continue lording it over others to boost their fragile egos.
@ShadowofTwilight22 Whining is always aggravating. But for Persona it was warranted I think. ATLUS was being idiots putting Joker in Smash, even releasing Persona 5 Strikers, but not giving Switch gamers the main series.
People asked them for years to bring these games over. And a lot of ppl took pleasure in lording the games over us, telling us how it'll never happen, it's too important to Sony, it can't run, yada yada.
Then when they were announced for Xbox, Steam and PS but not Switch, it almost felt targeted. Like ATLUS was purposely trying to piss off Switch owners. Especially after Soul Hackers 2 coming to everything but Switch.
The poor preorder numbers of Soul Hackers 2 compare to SMTV though, I think that's showing ATLUS their mistake. And the multiplatform release of Persona brings with it a new era, without all these games locked down on PS. Seeing Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core announced multiplat, and FFVIIR finally coming to Steam, gives me hope. We're trending in the right direction.

Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch (Again)
Oh it's definitely coming. Bethesda won't miss a chance to squeeze another release of this game on Switch.
But I'm all for it. There were some legitimately good additions in this version. So ya, I'm down.

Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?
@OwenGamer22
7% is the biggest increase since Prime 20 years ago.
Re: Poll: So, Wave Race 64 Or Blue Storm - Which Is Best?
I'm partial to Wave Race 64, but it could be that it just impressed me more in that first generation of 3D games, and the water was mind blowing at the time, too. Couldn't believe how real it looked.
Re: Backlog Club: Portal's A Triumph - I'm Making A Note Here: HUGE SUCCESS
Portal 2 is one of the greatest video games of all time.
And it's incredible having these games on a hybrid handheld OLED system. Setting up tabletop and detaching the controllers and playing at work... muah! So good.

Been waiting on this. Got True Colors digitally and the full cart JP physical release with English.
Fully intend on doing the same here.

Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?
Thus, a gamer was born.
Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests
@Ralizah
Idk how far you are, but Im at the end of chapter 4, at Level 49, and suddenly enemies jumped from 39 to THREE level 43 Unique Bosses you must fight simultaneously, as they block the main story path.
I suspect I'd be struggling with this if I didn't have those levels.
On another note, I beat two of them and then the game crashed with an error. First crash in years I can recall. Thankfully auto save put me right back before the 3 Uniques.
Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests
@Ralizah
Wow.
Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests
@larryisaman
Xenoblade thrives on its depth.

Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests
@FettucciniAlf
The game is doing it RIGHT.
Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests
The sidequests in this game are a cut above. They're meatier, meaningful and engaging. And there are far fewer, so you don't feel completely overwhelmed. I'm kind of shocked given the tedious fetch Quests of previous entries. They really did step it up in XC3.
@Ralizah
I'm about to start Chapter 5, am level 48, and have done all but 2 sidequests in the game, as they are around Lv 57 Quests.
Re: It's Official, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Is Getting A Switch Port
I'll pick it up. Why not.
Re: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Is Apparently Much More Than A Remaster, But Not A "Complete Remake"
@ChipBoundary
It doesn't matter.
And if you think me expressing a different opinion than you constitutes "trolling" (in fact I was never even talking to you) I'm just going to block you now.
I don't have time for these childish arguments. Find someone else to aggravate, kid.
Re: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Is Apparently Much More Than A Remaster, But Not A "Complete Remake"
@ChipBoundary
You're misunderstanding.
Re: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Is Apparently Much More Than A Remaster, But Not A "Complete Remake"
Pointless terminology, imo.
I love it.
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Broadcast Coming Next Week
Bring on Lucent Nargacuga! The return of the king!
Seething Bazel, Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos and Qurios Crafting will help sweeten the pot too, though.
@Sonos
@WallyWest I tend to hold a grudge for a very long time. I have never put Exxon gas in my car, not once, since the Valdez spill
Lol lol I almost spit my drink out reading this 😅
Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 111 Million
Only 44 million away from the all time record.
Re: Backlog Club: Have You Seriously Not Played Portal Yet?
Portal 2 is one of my all time favorite video games.
I rented it for 360 over a decade ago in a halfway house with this 17 year old kid who had a 360. His mom drove us to Blockbuster and we rented it, binged on it all weekend.
I've been desperately waiting for a handheld version. Then a week before I got my Steamdeck, it released on Switch. And wow, these games look and play incredible on Switch OLED.
These are games you simply cannot miss. In fact, you're not even really a gamer until you've played the Portal games. Hey, I don't make the rules.
Re: Review: Portal: Companion Collection - A Nintendo Debut For Two All-Time Greats
@Cia
I said 2 OF THE MOST critically acclaimed of all time.
So tired of ppl picking arguments for no reason. I'm just gonna block you.
Re: Capcom Shares Sneak Peek At Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak's First Title Update
I love it.

I would normally agree.
Except in this case, I can personally attest to the fact I've watched and followed this account for 2 months now, and have seen their posts in real time with specific info, then watched it come to pass.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@rjejr
Surprised you guys don't all have your own Switch at this point. Local wireless is definitely a thing. Can't tell you how many times me and my brother played Splatoon 2 in local wireless.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@rjejr
Always welcome to come join us in Sunbreak.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@rjejr
I hopped into Splatoon 2 a couple months ago, since I'd accidentally lost my save file when migrating to the OLED and wanted to start a new save, and ended up sinking over 100 hrs in a hard-core binge.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@Shredderlovespizza
That's cool.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@RushDawg
You're baiting me now, refusing to go about your business.
Good day.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@RushDawg
I told you I'm done, I'm not sure why you're responding to me still
And for the record, Nintendo is absolutely blowing everyone else away. And not just by a little bit. You don't have to agree, but enough ppl feel the same that your opinion on the matter is, frankly, irrelevant. If you're truly not console warring, that shouldn't bother you.
Again, good day.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@RushDawg
Ok it's clear to me now this is indeed childish console warring.
So I won't waste any more of my time. Good day.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@Shredderlovespizza
I mean that's fine, everyone has their preferences.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@Shredderlovespizza
[Shrugs]
Looks fine to me.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@rjejr
It's so hard.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@rjejr
It does look good, doesn't it?
@Shredderlovespizza
So happy it's on Nintendo's amazing hardware. God knows I can't stand 4k when it means being tethered to a single screen. And even Steamdeck isn't a better option thanks to poor battery life and no OLED screen.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@RushDawg
Putting our personal opinions aside though, I think any reasonable person would agree that Elden Ring is the front runner for Game of the Year 2022 and that Kirby (as great as it is) is not a serious contender.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Trailer Confirms Launch For This October
@Gamer83
Re: Review: Rabbids: Party Of Legends - A Polished Party Game Journeys To The West
It actually looks kinda fun.
Not $40 fun, but maybe $20 fun
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Portal: Companion Collection
The impressive part isn't that the games run it's how well they run
Portal and Portal 2 only did 720p 30fps on Xbox 360 with imperfect frame pacing. And yet here on Switch, they pull a full native 1080p docked at 60fps, with excellent frame pacing.
It's essentially the exact same experience you'd get on the Deck, except with a far superior OLED screen and more battery life on a lighter, more portable system that can also easily dock and play in tabletop mode.
It's the definitive version of two of the greatest video games of all time.
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Surpasses 2 Million Units Shipped
Definitely deserved.
Game is fire. It's good to see it doing well.
Re: Review: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - A Deliciously Difficult, Must-Have Expansion
@parkinho
Oh I know the feeling. But imo, this isn't a game to skip on. Neither is Portal Companion Collection. Games like this only come a few times every generation.
@PerishSong
Ya. But you do fight Daimyo Hermitaur right away, and then Orange Bishaten for MR1 to MR2 urgent. I'm actually glad they kept as many as possible back loaded. The fewer wasted slots in early tier the better. But it was good they had a couple at least.
Re: Review: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - A Deliciously Difficult, Must-Have Expansion
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year 2022 So Far?
1) Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
2) Portal Companion Collection
3) Triangle Strategy
4) Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes
5) Neon White
The first two are miles beyond everything else. Like, the two greatest video game purchases I've made in my entire life, over 30 years of actual gaming.
The next three are still well beyond anything else I've played this year. Just... not on the same level as the two GOATs
Re: Review: Portal: Companion Collection - A Nintendo Debut For Two All-Time Greats
Re: Where To Buy Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Collector's Edition, Pro Controller And amiibo
The amiibo can be purchased from Amazon Japan.
I got all 3 for around $82 USD shipped.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
@SwitchVogel
That's subject to personal interpretation.
Re: Video: Persona 5 Royal Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch, Xbox, PS4)
Absolutely pristine
Muah!
Re: Where To Pre-Order Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope On Switch - Best Deals And Special Editions
Wish they'd do a Collector Edition. Ah well. I'll grab it physically to accompany the Gold Digital Edition I preordered.
This game looks super dope. And I'll be supporting it 100% day one.
Re: Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, And Persona 5 Royal Are Coming To Switch
@CANOEberry
Ah, you're referring to the main article.
Re: Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, And Persona 5 Royal Are Coming To Switch
@ShadowofTwilight22
Whining is always aggravating.
