@Alpha-2002 Tencent is bad and I probably won't support this game because of their involvement. Which is unfortunate because holy crap there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL in a Pokemon Moba. Like it's all just right there screaming in our faces about how good it could possibly be.
@TeslaChippie 2 is built completely different from the first game. The first game uses almost all handpainted art but the second one uses 3D models for everything. To make it look like the first game would mean rebuilding the whole game.
@Daniel36 But there are also people who WANT translations to adhere as closely as possible to the original Japanese meaning. Hard to please everyone when it comes to figuring out the language gap.
@Kalmaro While I think the game could have been structured better (although it would have been at the expense of the midgame twist) the story itself is well told. The only real flaw I could find in the story was how a certain WLF medic managed to cross the city on her own.
@meeto_1 Little Devil Inside might still be a possibility on Switch. Back when it was still on Kickstarter, the WiiU was actually the first platform goal even with it's poor install base. Devs likely have some fondness for Nintendo. We just gotta wait for that one year exclusivity period to be done with.
@the_beaver Do you have a source for that? Just curious cause everything I have seen since the announcement says that Crytek is self publishing this and EA has nothing to do with it.
@sanderev Yeah it had a shorter dev time than BoTW but three years is by no means a short period of time. That's the same schedule that the last Assassin's Creed game and many other big AAA sequels get.
Gamefreak didn't need to model 800 Mons for SWSH. They upgraded all of those when SuMo came out so the only new creature models were 82 new ones.
Saying other games don't feature battling seems silly. And given the piss poor state multiplayer for SWSH launched in it's pretty easy to come to the conclusion that we can't blame multiplayer for the game being ugly.
@AndreaF96 Witcher 3 really COULDN'T have been done better and it's definitely not a half assed port. It was designed based around high end PCs. The result we got was literally as good as it could have been.
@ObsidianEleven I totally feel that. I don't mind throwing out a little extra for things I like as well. The only problem becomes how to sell it, because they can't just print off half a million 90$ copies they aren't sure won't sell. And clearly given the meltdown some people around here have over Limited Run Games, an open preorder period might be frowned down on, especially from a major AAA publisher.
@ObsidianEleven I don't mind partial downloads most of the time. The reality of the situation is that Switch carts are friggin expensive. Consensus seems to be that 8GB Switch carts are roughly equivalent in cost to a 50GB PS4 disc. To use a large format card could very easily lead to a point where devs are only making pennies on a game sale. They gotta keep the lights on if we want games.
NOW THAT THAT HAS BEEN SAID, devs who release full price retail games without a cart are scum.
@Razer You might not think it's worth full price but the effort has been made to add in additional content to justify that price. The new 20 hour side story is literally bigger than some modern AAA games. It is a pretty substantial upgrade from the original release. Burnout Remastered is a barebones port that EA has the audacity to charge Switch owners an extra ten bucks over PS4 and X1 solely because it's coming to Switch. There is NO justification for that price increase. It's the same thing Capcom has done with their most recent Resident Evil and DMC games: upcharge only for the Switch despite receiving the same content as other platforms.
Savings are dope, and I'm glad you managed to snag Witcher 3 for a discount at launch. But that does not change the fact that it launched at full retail price. Feel free to check the weekly games release update on this very site. It's the one dated October 17th.
Again, if you cannot see the differences in XBDE and Burnout Remastered I don't know what to tell you.
@Razer EA is upcharging the Switch port of Burnout compared to other consoles and is just getting a basic increase in resolution.
XBDE got huge swathes of the game redone visually, all new lighting, a revamped UI, and a new sidestory with some 20 hours of gameplay. The less than stellar resolution might be disappointing but it does not take away from the fact that a lot of work was still done on the game.
Also, Witcher 3 was a full price release and does NOT run better than Xenoblade.
You can argue that Xenoblade shouldn't be full retail price right now, which is a totally fair take, but to try to say it's the same situation as Burnout is so misinformed it borders on willful ignorance.
@Link41x That same gap exists between PS4/Xbox owners and people who play on PC. Even with the gap, crossplay is good. It expands lobbies, reduces wait times to get into games, and it extends the overall lifetime of a game. It's also just a generally pro consumer thing to do.
Fortnite is a mess because Epic hasn't gone back and optimized anything on Switch in the last two years. At launch the game ran decently enough that gyro helped bridge the gap a bit. Rocket League, Paladins, and Killer Queen all do a great job at offering fairly equal experiences.
@Agramonte The number of previews that say the game looks quite nice (Eurogamer in particular mentions that it is far cleaner than XC2) I think bodes well for the existence of decent post processing. EG quote below:
"Technically this feels like a big step up from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and while it's not blemish-free it certainly doesn't have the same fuzzy aesthetic that the 2017 game had - the draw distance is more generous, the textures more defined."
@Joekun For real, the Switch version will continue to drop in price. It's only been out a couple months and it's getting consistent 25% off at most US retailers. I get a good laugh when I see people on the SwitchDeals Reddit page moaning about Witcher 3.
@gcunit @Spoony_Tech If you don't like it, don't force yourself to play to the end but I would say give it another shot. Each level does introduce new gimmicks and mechanics to the point that some areas do become closer to puzzles than anything else. I think it's a much better game than something like VVVVV, Super Meat Boy, or even The Messenger.
Next to BoTW and Transistor this is probably my favorite game on Switch. I regularly will just pop it on to play a few levels.
@Kalmaro Pokemon being shown in the anime that aren't available in game has been a thing since the first ever episode of Pokemon. It's really not a big deal.
@GoblinKing86 "We who play the right way cannot revert back to the dark ages..."
Weird flex but okay. The option to invert controls should be there I agree but given that it's not happening just sell the game on eBay for 45 bucks instead of complaining about your 60$ paper weight.
@Trajan "...and then what?" Is a complaint that can be lobbied at any game, not just AC. But you can continue decorating as Nintendo updates the game and adds new stuff, finish the Critterpedia, collect fossils, or just search for the villagers from old games you like. Their words don't have to have an exceptional depth, they can continue just being funny and goofy as they are. And they have a lot more variety in what they say than any NPC, including the Nopon.
@Trajan It's not just a grind for gear, it's a sandbox. You literally get to be the God of this little town which is super appealing for many people. It's gratifying to build up the island from nothing to your own little utopia. Villagers have a lot more personality than generic RPG townspeople. They have actual likes and dislikes, they'll comment on things going on and the people or other animals who come visit.
I can't think of an RPG that lets you tinker with your town the way AC does.

Re: Poll: Did The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partners Showcase Meet Your Expectations?
Not sure what I expected but I came out of it with two SMT games and more Zelda content. You better believe I'm a happy camper.
Re: Devolver Digital Brings Reverse Horror Game Carrion To Switch On 23rd July
@OorWullie I would be stupidly impressed if SW3 worked in some form on Switch.
Doom Eternal is the closest comparison we have so once we actually get Switch footage of that we might have a decent idea of how feasible SW might be.

Obviously take it with a grain of salt until confirmed but he's been right in the past.

Re: Ori Dev Thinks It Would Be "Extremely Difficult" To Get The Sequel Running At 60fps On Switch
@jobvd Where do you see the devs complaining? They were asked a question and gave an honest answer.
@TeslaChippie They are absolutely essential for the games look and feel though.

@koekiemonster That is a fair assessment. Nintendo really screwed the pooch on that one as well.
Re: Review: Burnout Paradise Remastered - Thrilling Open-World Racing Tempered By Blurry Visuals And A High Price
@koekiemonster Witcher 3 had the same launch price on Switch as it did on other platforms. Burnout costs ten dollars more for no discernable reason.
