@AtlanteanMan Fusing arrows shouldn't require more than a single click. The game saves your most recently used material so you shouldn't be scrolling at all if you're just spamming a single arrow type.
Also you can sort by most used which ought to bring all your elemental stuff right to the front of the list. Similarly you can sort by highest attack power for weapon materials to minimize time in the quick menu for weapon fusing. Thankfully fused weapons are way more durable though so fusing mid combat hasnt been an issue.
@Smug43 Plenty of games back in the '90s were $70 or more. And wages as a whole were a lot lower. It's honestly more shocking that games aren't already $100 a copy.
That was a higher score than I was expecting but it sounds like you guys REALLYYYYYYYY wanted it to be good? Maybe one to pick up on the bigger consoles.
@Cashews Cons don't equal -1 each. Maybe the game would have been a 9 without issues. And, aside from the technical issues, it does seem to be rather well liked as opposed to something bland and churned out so an 8 can still be a reasonable score.
@Tourtus I had to try to explain this to a coworker a couple years back when she saw the warning (for the first time ever apparently) on a TV she was looking at while doing some online shopping at work.
She did not understand and spent the rest of our 8 hour overnight shift freaking out about finding a TV that wouldn't give her mother cancer.
From the opening paragraph I was expecting this to be a bit of a mess. Glad to see it's just a case of weird controls that are already being worked on.
@GreenNinja500 While most of this is accurate, we have seen too many far better looking and running open world games on Switch to blame the hardware for the poor technical performance of Scarlet/Violet.
@DeadWadepool There are games that do voice chat just fine. Fortnite for example you just plug in a headset and you're good to go.
I agree that Nintendo needs a more system wide method of chat but developers can still implement it into their own games and COD for Switch would likely do just that.
@HeadPirate I used your definition. "Not worthy of attention or interest." I'm not angry or upset, I simply asked you how a very well made game isn't generally worthy of interest.
@HeadPirate Not sure what's lacklustre about the series. They're fun and polished to a sheen with a neat aesthetic. Even if they aren't groundbreaking, they're really good and that's all they need to be.
@johnedwin I don't think anyone was expecting this to be higher than Three Houses. There has been backlash since the reveal over the art style and the apparent story beats. Looking at the review summaries it's quite clear that most reviewers really enjoyed the gameplay but are very torn on the much thinner story. So the fact that it's still in the same ballpark as Three Houses means the gameplay is just that good.
@ohithere I don't think you need to be an edgelord to enjoy this. It's a very good game that happens to include a little bit of foul language every now and again. It's sparse and mostly used to very good effect.
@dr-gorgo I feel the same way. Was ready to wait for physical until I saw who had publishing rights. Grabbed it day one digital instead and not regretting.
@Shambo It means that the port will exceed the consumers expectations. They are saying it will be a better port than we normally see of current gen games to Switch.
@johnedwin It's almost like different people can have different opinions on things. Multiple other reviews scored it an 8 and there are even one or two scores of 7. Are those also wrong or untrustworthy for not matching the average?
And yes, XC3 was an utterly phenomenal game and in my top three for the year.
@GoshJosh Even if some things aren't as pretty as the first Rabbids game it's still a much larger and visually more dense world with a lot of effects happening. Going for a more open world with a free camera is ambitious and pushing the Switch.
Alan Wake shouldn't be pushing the Switch at all and for some reason it looks and runs worse than the original release on much older hardware.
@sixrings Probably something to do with the fact that the two games you mentioned are significantly more modern and ambitious. It's not surprising that Rabbids and No Man's Sky are pushing the Switch. Alan Wake is gonna be 13 years old in February and there is literally no reason for it to look the way it does. Like for real, this is an embarrassing showing for the developers of this port.
@Phostachio XC3 can get very pixel-y in battles with more than nine or ten participants on screen but even at its most blurry it's still a heck of a lot more impressive than anything happening in Pokemon.
@Phostachio @Slinkoy1 Not a single person here is asking for photorealistic visuals. But look at what Breath of The Wild did in 2017. And then look at Xenoblade 3 just a few months ago. The Switch is far more capable than what was on display in this trailer.
I'm wicked excited to play an actual open world Pokemon. But the visuals here are serviceable at best and that's disappointing.
@Sequel It might just be you aren't digging the depth of field effect on the edges of the screen. Because what's front and center in the game is usually pretty sharp.
Are y'all planning to review No Place For Bravery? I want to snag it from Play-Asia while they're still doing free shipping+their sale on English games but confirmation of quality would be dope.

Re: Bloober Team's 'The Medium' Is Out Now On Switch... As A Cloud Version
@Serpenterror Nintendo has nothing to do with the pricing structure of these cloud releases.
Re: Hands On: Oxenfree II Is Shaping Up To Be A Huge Improvement On The Original
@ComfyAko It's different but still manages to carry the same feel, to the point I had to pull up the trailer for the first game to check.
Re: Nintendo And Critical Role Combine Zelda: TOTK With Tabletop RPG In New 'One-Shot' Special
@rjejr No but it does say that they're combining Tears with tabletop RPGs.
Although at this point we're just arguing semantics.
Re: Nintendo And Critical Role Combine Zelda: TOTK With Tabletop RPG In New 'One-Shot' Special
@rjejr I'd imagine that rather than it being, "a fake pretend board game," they're just using the rules from D&D in a Hyrule setting.

Re: Review: The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story - An Enthralling Hack-And-Slash Spin-Off
@Cashews Or the technical issues have been noted and called out but didn't ruin the what was otherwise an excellent experience?
Re: Feature: Which Zelda Game Has The Best Ganondorf? Every Design Ranked By You
@Tyranexx The build up for Ganon in Twilight Princess is really poor. He only shows up at the last second to steal the scene from Zant.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Metroid Prime Remastered
@Vyacheslav333 Mario Odyssey is a janky reconstructed 720p in handheld. And Nier Automata runs at 30fps with frame drops.
Regardless of 600 vs 720, Metroid Prime is one of the best looking games on Switch.

Re: Video: We've Played SteamWorld Build - Is It Any Good?
@HeadPirate Since when are great games not worthy of attention? They stand out by being expertly crafted, even if the gameplay isn't wholly original.
Re: Video: We've Played SteamWorld Build - Is It Any Good?
@HeadPirate Not sure what's lacklustre about the series. They're fun and polished to a sheen with a neat aesthetic. Even if they aren't groundbreaking, they're really good and that's all they need to be.

Re: Feature: Every Pokémon Starter Evolution Trio, Ranked From Worst To Best
The level of Samurott disrespect here....his only flaw is that he should be bipedal.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Persona 5 Royal On Switch
@Rika_Yoshitake Except he makes very valid notes that the resolution should absolutely be higher than it is considering P5 was originally a PS3 game.
It's fine to be happy with what we got, but it's very reasonable to wish a better job had been done.
Re: Feature: It Takes Two Devs "Confident" The Switch Port Will Exceed Expectations

@Koffyman So just...don't get the Collectors Edition and walk into a store and buy the regular one that will be getting a full retail release?
Also getting upset about how long it took for the physical to be released is silly given that they had the best possible reason for it.
Re: Lengthy Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Trailer Unloads Heaps Of New Information
@Phostachio XC3 can get very pixel-y in battles with more than nine or ten participants on screen but even at its most blurry it's still a heck of a lot more impressive than anything happening in Pokemon.
