@GreenNinja500 While most of this is accurate, we have seen too many far better looking and running open world games on Switch to blame the hardware for the poor technical performance of Scarlet/Violet.

@Serpenterror Do you have any actual sources for this or are you just saying things?

@DeadWadepool There are games that do voice chat just fine. Fortnite for example you just plug in a headset and you're good to go.

I agree that Nintendo needs a more system wide method of chat but developers can still implement it into their own games and COD for Switch would likely do just that.

@locky-mavo My wife and I are heading to Japan next month for our honeymoon. This is very high on the list. Can I ask how the lines were?

@Vyacheslav333 Mario Odyssey is a janky reconstructed 720p in handheld. And Nier Automata runs at 30fps with frame drops.

Regardless of 600 vs 720, Metroid Prime is one of the best looking games on Switch.

@theModestMouse Gyro is listed as a positive.

This one didn't stick with me as well as the others did, but I'd still give it a big recommend.

@HeadPirate I used your definition. "Not worthy of attention or interest." I'm not angry or upset, I simply asked you how a very well made game isn't generally worthy of interest.

@HeadPirate Since when are great games not worthy of attention? They stand out by being expertly crafted, even if the gameplay isn't wholly original.

@HeadPirate Not sure what's lacklustre about the series. They're fun and polished to a sheen with a neat aesthetic. Even if they aren't groundbreaking, they're really good and that's all they need to be.

@johnedwin I don't think anyone was expecting this to be higher than Three Houses. There has been backlash since the reveal over the art style and the apparent story beats. Looking at the review summaries it's quite clear that most reviewers really enjoyed the gameplay but are very torn on the much thinner story. So the fact that it's still in the same ballpark as Three Houses means the gameplay is just that good.

@Vyacheslav333 The steam version is currently on sale but normally they are the same price.

@ohithere I don't think you need to be an edgelord to enjoy this. It's a very good game that happens to include a little bit of foul language every now and again. It's sparse and mostly used to very good effect.

@dr-gorgo I feel the same way. Was ready to wait for physical until I saw who had publishing rights. Grabbed it day one digital instead and not regretting.

@Rika_Yoshitake Except he makes very valid notes that the resolution should absolutely be higher than it is considering P5 was originally a PS3 game.

It's fine to be happy with what we got, but it's very reasonable to wish a better job had been done.

@Shambo It means that the port will exceed the consumers expectations. They are saying it will be a better port than we normally see of current gen games to Switch.

Whether that is actually true remains to be seen.

@johnedwin It's almost like different people can have different opinions on things. Multiple other reviews scored it an 8 and there are even one or two scores of 7. Are those also wrong or untrustworthy for not matching the average?

And yes, XC3 was an utterly phenomenal game and in my top three for the year.

@GoshJosh Even if some things aren't as pretty as the first Rabbids game it's still a much larger and visually more dense world with a lot of effects happening. Going for a more open world with a free camera is ambitious and pushing the Switch.

Alan Wake shouldn't be pushing the Switch at all and for some reason it looks and runs worse than the original release on much older hardware.

@sixrings Probably something to do with the fact that the two games you mentioned are significantly more modern and ambitious. It's not surprising that Rabbids and No Man's Sky are pushing the Switch. Alan Wake is gonna be 13 years old in February and there is literally no reason for it to look the way it does. Like for real, this is an embarrassing showing for the developers of this port.

@Koffyman So just...don't get the Collectors Edition and walk into a store and buy the regular one that will be getting a full retail release?

Also getting upset about how long it took for the physical to be released is silly given that they had the best possible reason for it.

@Phostachio XC3 can get very pixel-y in battles with more than nine or ten participants on screen but even at its most blurry it's still a heck of a lot more impressive than anything happening in Pokemon.

@Phostachio @Slinkoy1 Not a single person here is asking for photorealistic visuals. But look at what Breath of The Wild did in 2017. And then look at Xenoblade 3 just a few months ago. The Switch is far more capable than what was on display in this trailer.

I'm wicked excited to play an actual open world Pokemon. But the visuals here are serviceable at best and that's disappointing.

@mereel Noooooot really an RPG. It's much more in the vein of an open world Bayonetta.

@Sequel It might just be you aren't digging the depth of field effect on the edges of the screen. Because what's front and center in the game is usually pretty sharp.

@Sequel The first game is running at almost full resolution. Not really a whole lot of room for improvement.

Are y'all planning to review No Place For Bravery? I want to snag it from Play-Asia while they're still doing free shipping+their sale on English games but confirmation of quality would be dope.

But for real though, this is basically the ideal Kickstarter. He's a kid trying to solo develop and publish his first real game. He's got a ton of work to show already and is just trying to get to the finish line.

@Friendly There are more numbers. But, again, do you want to read a review about crappy shovelware platformer #37958 that will get a 3 star review. No. It's a waste of everyone's time.

And for what it's worth. NL does throw out a LOT of 4/5/6 star reviews.

@Friendly Reviewing shovelware 1 or 2 star games though takes time away from more interesting games that people actually want to read about though. There are only so many reviewers and so many hours in the day. So they have to pick and choose what to review.

@Serpenterror And that's totally cool! I have more than a handful of games that I truly love that sit at a five or six on Metacritic. And there are plenty of ten out of ten games I think are as dull as watching paint dry.

I just don't see how the other dude read this review and came to the conclusion that it's a disaster when overall the text was very positive.

@Sequel Is a 7/10 a disaster?

@Olliemar28 The previous trailer showed some more otherworldly locations that looked wayyyyy more colourful. I think it's an intentional design choice that the more natural world is dull to set up a big contrast there. The only gameplay we've seen is the Tokyo section which isn't admittedly isn't doing the visuals any favours.

@BloodyMurder The only thing 3 has been lacking in my 70 hours has been the more fantastical environments that popped up in the first two.

@NinjaNicky It's not so much more expensive. The game is the same price on Steam and PSN.

@Nintendo4Sonic I mean, we know they've had the game for at least three weeks given that PJ wrote a very long preview for the game that was published on the 7th of this month. So no, I don't think anyone is claiming to have beaten the game in just a few days.

This looks like it'll scratch the same itch that Neon White did. I'm into it.

If they're holding off like this for EU maybe that means NA fans will get another shot?????? Cause I'm still livid about the trainwreck that the NA preorder was.

@Zorox88 I think they're just going for something else. Nothing to do with it having been done 20+ years ago.
