Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is out very, very soon — it's nearly October, after all! And in preparation, we've got a brand new trailer that shows off some of the game's gorgeous visuals, but in cutscenes and in gameplay.
Who are "the galaxy's greatest heroes" though? Well, it's Mario, Luigi, Peach, and their Rabbid counterparts, of course! There are a few new Rabbid allies coming along for the ride too, of course, alongside Bowser and — in some DLC — Rayman! It's a big ol' rave amidst the stars. How will Mario and the Rabbids fight against Cursa? What new worlds await the plumber and his Leporidae allies?
The trailer gives us a little peek at what the game's story will be like. Gameplay-wise, we know there are a few changes coming to Mario + Rabbids, including changes to character progression, the removal of multiplayer to focus on the single-player experience, and free movement instead of the first game's grid-based travel.

We lucky lot have managed to spend three hours with the game, where we found out that — gasp — the Rabbids can now speak! But we're mightily impressed by what we've seen and played so far, and we're glad the wait won't be that much longer. Check out our thoughts in our hands-on!
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope releases on 20th October. Are you looking forward to exploring the galaxy and getting stuck into some Mario-based shooting? Rocket on down to the comments!

Question : Are you looking forward to exploring the galaxy and getting stuck into some Mario-based shooting?
Me : Not day one but will pick the game someday as I still busy to build my PS3, PS4 and PS5 games collection.
They finally showed Rosalina!
God the squash and stretch on the characters is so, SO good. If there's one thing Ubisoft does well (and really well at that), its cartoony animation.
I would be excited for this but the first one was a low resolution blurry mess in handheld. With large open environments this absolutely impacts practical enjoyment of the game. Hope they can improve the visuals otherwise I'll hold out in the hopes of playing it on a future system.
Defo getting this as loved 1st......but not paying full price and DLC like last time. Patience is a virtue that will save me money which is what I do now.
It’ll have me yawning, im still not buying it, I want real mario game made by nintendo not ubisoft.
This looks amazing. I buy almost nothing from Ubisoft, but they're doing right by Nintendo with these games.
@Sequel The first game is running at almost full resolution. Not really a whole lot of room for improvement.
The game looks awesome but the main reason why I'm disappointed is because they removed yoshi and rabbid yoshi from the game
Congratulations to Nintendo and Ubisoft. I think they have something special here. Can't wait to play it.
Somehow, I've always remained a fan of the Ubisoft name. There is much talent and ambition and vision in that company, when they are given artistic freedom in making GAMES, not a strict set of rules to make as much profit as possible. As a Nintendo fan, I'm happy actually that we don't get their "money trees" most of the time, it allowed their name to be something somewhat trustworthy despite the horrible things they did on other platforms with franchises I once loved. It was just much easier to stay away from their marketable products, and still get their passion projects (even if I sometimes needed to play them on my Playstations throughout the years).
@Indielink damn, then that is concerning. I find ubi games (even on pc) lackluster technically. Must be aggressive AA or post processing. I'm a sucker for crisp sharp visuals, even with simpler graphics if necessary.
Gotta say, even if I'm still not going to get the game for.. reasons, I do love how the game looks.
I’m already sold on the game since May.
Looking forward to it!
So eager to play this game. I'm really liking the presentation here.
@Sequel It might just be you aren't digging the depth of field effect on the edges of the screen. Because what's front and center in the game is usually pretty sharp.
This, GOWR, and Zelda TOTK are at the top of my wish list.
@Koffyman Me too ...Hoping for something to coincide with the movie early next year.
wait, Rosalina is the villain? this looks better that the original game, also the gameplay looks less repetitive
I'm not sure if it was a good idea to spoil in an official trailer who the main villain is, even if some fans had this theory about Rosalina being the villain months ago. The only thing that we have to see now is, how Rosie got corrupted. Since Rayman is now part of it, I hope it is a Rayman villain such as Mr. Dark.
@Fizza I love your knew icon. And I agree with you, Wile I’m not getting day one, I’m so getting it at soon as I can, aim so hyped!
@Koffyman
Don’t see why you voice such criticism, it’s not like the main Mario team is working on this
So that's the reason Rosalina isn't playable and why there's no restock of the Rosalina amiibo?
This game looks great! It’ll be my first go at the series. Not sure if it’ll be day one but eventually for sure. Also thought about trying the first game but it’s not on sale and it looks much blander than this one.
Yeah, no doubt Rosalina is the villain here.
The question remains, will she be a DLC playable? I sure hope so.
