Inappropriate and unacceptable, but this obsession with calling for people to be fired over every offense needs to stop. People make mistakes, they learn, they grow, they improve. Let’s move on — isn’t there so much more in the world to worry about?

Hideki Kamiya thinks he’s hilarious but he’s the biggest PR liability for that company. Sometimes, the less said, the better.

I’m very happy to see Arms coming to Smash. I hope this gets some people to pick up Arms — one of the best underperforming games of this generation.

And Xenoblade just looks amazing.

I’m all for animal rights, but PETA is the absolute worst. Needlessly divisive and no point is too low for them to stoop to if it means getting media coverage.

Not surprised. Kickstarter has increasingly become nothing more than a platform for free advertising for large company. There are still a few small businesses who truly need the money to do a project, but that’s increasingly scarce.

And also not surprised to see Platinum doing it. They seem to be willing to do anything it if means getting free press.

Honestly, I don’t know why Nintendo hasn’t bought them and staffed up so they can work on multiple projects. Shovel Knight 2 would sell like hot cakes.

@Andymad Try the TCGPlayer app. It’ll scan your cards in and automatically detect them in most cases. You can sell them through the app too, but even if not you at least have a ballpark sense of their value

Unfortunately, eBay is a cesspool of fake cards. I wouldn’t be surprised if more than half of those were fake.

@ShadJV Great point! Yeah I can see them going instead to a system of 1-2 major blowout directs per year plus a smaller one prior to new releases.

I’m so far behind I’m in no rush for more games. Will be fun and exciting to see what the blockbuster games of 2020 will be. I’m hoping for Odyssey 2, but that’s just me being greedy.

Who cares if someone cheats in AC? It’s not like a racing game where everyone else does worse because a cheater is doing better. If they want to ruin the game for themselves, why does everyone else have to be punished to stop it?

I wouldn’t expect 4K until the Switch 2, which is still a few years away at least.

Doing 4K on the Switch Pro would be silly and create tons of fragmentation in their product line, resulting in a lot of consumer confusion.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a secret VR project somewhere in their offices.

@rjejr I disagree with the assertion that a Gamepad only mode = Switch compatible; that doesn't click for me given the factors like docked mode on Switch, stylus with the Gamepad, etc.

But anyway, no need to split hairs. I think we'll all be happy with some Pikmin — any Pikmin — on Switch. Hopefully it happens!

@rjejr I didn't say anything about Pikmin 1 & 2, but I think those would be great to remaster and bring to the Switch!

Pikmin 3 was most certainly not Gamepad only (I actually preferred playing it with a Wii controller and Nunchuck). I'm sure others disagree with good reason, but my point is that they'd need to rethink the control scheme and/or shoehorn the Joycons into a new role — why both? Why not remaster 1 & 2 or just release 4?

As I recall, ZombiU was not well received on PS4 or XB. Splatoon kind of makes my point that they're better off making a new game than adapting an old one — they didn't rerelease the same game on Switch.

Either way, Nintendo is gonna do their own thing, as always. Will be fun to see regardless — I'll just be happy to see any Pikmin activity on Switch

Honestly I just don’t think Pikmin 3 would work well given that it was designed with the Wii U control scheme in mind.

Maybe one day they’ll learn to walk and chew gum at the same time and can actually work on two projects at once.

It’s all well and good to say you’re going to self-publish, but they rely on Nintendo and others because their games don’t always do well enough for them to survive self publishing.

As an aside, I really wanted to like Bayonetta 2, but it just feels like a bunch of QTEs and memorizing when to smash which buttons. I’d love insights on how I could enjoy it more.

I think these delayed ports are good for consumers like me, where my only gaming platform is Switch. I don’t have enough time to play all my Switch games, so investing in a PS or Xbone would be silly. I don’t care if they’re a couple years old; still new to me. And paying a few dollars more is fine too; I’d rather have everything on one system. I’ll gladly give games like Witcher 3 a try.

Would be fun if this was the tip of the spear for a “Switch Plus” with extra performance. Offering games like this one would surely attract many to upgrade, especially if it can run passably well.

I tried Animal Crossing New Leaf but just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if it’s just not my cup of tea or if I was “doing it wrong.” I’m hesitant to try another AC game after that.

They want to create games with Nintendo characters. I want Natalie Portman to show up at my house in a free Ferrari.

Something I have in common with Tencent: neither of the things we want will ever happen.

I’ve only gotten into Pokémon very recently (which is crazy considering I had an original Gameboy I carried around back in the day). That said, it seems painfully clear that GF isn’t on the cutting edge when it comes to tech — TCGO is lacking so many things we think of as basic (smartphone compatibility?!), not to mention that this is their very first HD game.

With that in mind, I feel like fans have to either embrace that GF will always be a step behind in technology or find another addiction. It’s not ideal but it’s the reality.

Still a good option for people only planning to use it in docked mode. I seldom take my original model out of the house and have never gone below 50% battery.

I’d pick one up if they have a more streamlined handoff of cloud saves. I want to be able to save & pause my game on my docked Switch, then walk out the door and seamlessly pick up where I left off on my Lite.

Sounds like that is still very far away (particularly with some games excluded from cloud saves completely).

Need to work my way through my backlog, but I’ll definitely pick up LM3 and Pokémon at some point. Pokémon is going to sell a crazy number of copies.

Here’s a bold idea: who cares if people cheat through cloud saves? They’re primarily ruining the game for themselves, which is their loss.

Nintendo is punishing the 99.9% in order to stop the .1% from doing something that, at the end of the day, mainly hurts themselves. Silly policy.

@w00dm4n Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. The video games have sold like bonkers, to say nothing of the merchandise and card game.

Why on earth would someone do that? There are many good, inexpensive cases that aren’t bulky and protect it while being transported. As a bonus, some have cases for cartridges so you can bring some games on the go.

Can’t wait! I work from home — running and going to the gym are fine, but having some additional way to combine entertainment and movement into my day is most welcome.

I would love Love LOVE if Nintendo would use a smartphone app to tie your activity into a larger profile such as iOS Health or MyFitnessPal.

Nintendo is only doing thing because they think it’s what the public wants. Let’s prove them wrong by leaving poor reviews and, most importantly, not buying this garbage.

Instead, support some of the great Switch games out there or download Super Mario Run if you haven’t already, which is a bargain.

Trine 4 and Ring Fit Adventure are top priorities. I’m sure I’ll get Luigi at some point but my backlog is pretty thick so I’m not in any rush on that one (Trine will be for the great co-op play)

I guess I’m one of the few in the middle. It’s fine. It kills a few minutes while waiting for the wife to try on a pair of shoes.

I’ll never spend a dime on it, and although the loot box randomness is annoying, I can live with it. It’s a free-to-play game so you can’t have it all.

Sure, I’d rather have a Super Mario Run-style game where you pay all at once and unlock everything, but sadly I’m in the minority — I can’t expect Nintendo to cater to a minority and therefore leave money on the table.

Quite possibly the greatest game of all time. The sheer joy and number of surprises and puzzles packed into this game are countless.

Would LOVE to see a reboot of the Mario 2D franchise that brings this kind of innovation back to the genre.

I hope this doesn’t come at an expense of their other genres... Rayman, in particular, comes to mind, which pretty much comes as close as it can get to the best platformer out there. Would love a sequel.

One of the more innovative games of all time. I still remember renting this at a Blockbuster and taking turns playing F Zero with my sister. Great Times — Brilliant game!
