@ViewtifulJotun Yes I bought it and started it same week as Fire Emblem. It's great. The dungeon gameplay is somewhat of a turn off for me, I'm finding the battles to be what I'm interested in. So the focus is on the GBA game right now.
@San_D Agreed. Three Houses is great, but the original GBA game feels better. Less cluttered. This is also what I now find least interesting in Three Houses, the whole outside of battle gameplay. It was what eased me into the game though, so it's not something I retrospectively dislike.
Fire Emblem for GBA. I became a fan only after Three Houses. Been putting off trying the originals due to all the descriptions of them being 'hard'. Finally did so in anticipation of the new DLC. Turns out I had confused the terms hard and frustrating. Finding the permanent death mechanism to be a good motivation to redo battles and to do them right.
I wouldn't be playing any game if it required me having to sit down on a chair in that certain room at home with the console in it. It doesn't matter that I do in fact play some games 90% on the TV. Not having portability is out of the question.
Super Metroid and Yoshi's Island on the SNES app are in heavy rotation with Super Mario Odyssey. Doing Gameboy mods these days, so testing countless of the old classics there as well.
I'm loving this update. Never tried Kirby Superstar before, nor Starfox 2 despite having it on my SNES Classic. Kirby is captivating and Starfox 2 has some great graphics. Super Punch Out!! was what caught my interest initially, but now I'm trying 'new' SNES games
Various Gameboy games and a couple of small puzzlers for Switch. The Art of Balance from Shin'en being one. Seemed like the thing to do after finishing The Touryst.
@tseliot I noticed at the end sequences that the game gave me a rating ("C") which would indicate that at least this is liable to change on the next try. But I don't know about alternate endings... Besides the Super Metroid one, I've never been motivated by that The only thing keeping me from going back in and collecting all gems (Luigi's just a plain old jewel-thief!) immediately is that I'd need to fight King Boo again to check the rating. I do like finishing games like this to completion just for the fun of exploration
Saved Luigi's Mansion 3 final stage for today and just finished. Rekt, Touryst, Astral Chain are now my choices for Switch. I'll be modding a DMG-01 today, so I may also play some Batman or Super Mario Land, to, you know, test
@SepticLemon Yeah, I figured as much. I'm interested in this device because of its precision and potential for accurate portrayal of the games themselves. Devices like the Game Genie are inherently finicky, also on the original Gameboy. Especially now after 25 years or more and some wear and tear. But they are great fun in experiencing nostalgia. Perhaps the unreliable nature of the device is even part of that.
I wanted to try this but then Fire Emblem Three Houses happened. The new demo couldn't even keep my attention for more than a minute after starting the game. I hope I can pull myself away for Zelda next week
This is cool. If Super Punch Out comes following I'll have all the SNES games I could imagine needing, and I guess I'll just have to repurpose my SNES themed 3DS to, well, play 3DS games 😁
I've pre-ordered it but the supplier is experiencing delays. Next week it arrives. Just as well, gives me time to round off Fire Emblem Three Houses for now 😀
I've just changed my pre-order from Lite to the updated version of the classic Switch. Having realized that what I really wanted was additional battery, I feel like this is the best option. And my old Switch will remain as the living room stationary console, as planned.
I have pre-ordered the turquoise one. My Switch classic will remain docked and become my secondary console with regards to my eshop accounts. This way I'll be able to play downloaded games on both devices.
@Sim1 I find all of the Piczle games similar to and a lot more interesting than Picross. Silly as it sounds, the story, the themes, the music especially all helps keep me coming back. And the general feel and esthetic is just more interesting than other puzzles in general, I find👌
@Mamabear Oh, it's great, I like it for the same reasons I like the Piczle Lines games. But I was tiring trying to 100% them, and found Colors more manageable. Now, having finished it, I'm back to it. Colors is a bit different but it's great. Play it if you want a break from Lines yet want to play the same kind of game 😉
I will get this because 1) Zelda 2) collection 3) questionable impulse control 4) fanboi. I don't even know much about the game itself. So I wonder... Will I be missing out on any context or content by getting just this game or will I need to get the first Crypt as well? This is of course not a question I demand a serious and well thought out answer to. But it's funny it should arise around the time of month when my next paycheck is due.
Oh, cool, I could consider this. I haven't much experience with Crash Bandicoot games besides the original for PSX, but Team Sonic Racing has definitely revived my interest in the kart racing game genre 😁
This is just great. So far this game is a 8.5/10 for me. Being a huge fan of the previous 2 Sonic kart racers, I'm not tempted to compare this to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In fact, I played the first Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing so much that it took me a long time to really get into MK8DX. Anyway. I really like the controls, the stages, the music, graphics. All very satisfying. To me this is at least as good as MK8DX
Tetris 99 (gotta have me that Gameboy theme!), Redout, Celeste (finally on sale!), Steamworld Quest (just finished this in fact, maybe some other Steamworld title?!)
It was indeed surprisingly hard. But I wanted one, I needed it at the time, and so I got it. Now I don't even play on the TV anymore. But it's good to have.
Super Mario Odyssey was the single reason I bought the console. I wanted it so badly that I didn't care if I'd ever get interested in any other game, figuring the price of the console and the game would be worth it. And it was. But once I got it, I immediately got BoTW and Puyo Puyo Tetris as well. The impression had playing these games reawakened my 20 year dormant Nintendo interest. I shaved off the neckbeard, ditched my PC, and rejoined the enthusiastic gamer crowd 😁
I may be interested. What can I expect when pre-ordering from the UK store? Does anyone here have experiences with ordering from there for delivery outside of the UK? I'm in Denmark and normally use a store which reliably ships pre-orders for delivery on release day, something which I'm thrilled about being possible with physical copies. But these sorts of bonuses may make me accept a longer wait. I want that pad!
Still trying to get into Trials Rising the same way I got into Urban Trial Playground. But if I don't get hooked, I won't force it and will just go back to my NSMBU DX, Piczle Colors and SSBU routine. Oh, and Puzzle Bobble 2!
The word shocking in the subtitle of the headline. A long article with speculation. Leading questions at the end, creating doubt based on the narrative just presented. Is this site run by a British tabloid? 😉
PS: IMO graphics are fine from what I experienced in the free demo. I didn't expect much more than Urban Trial Playground with regards to that. The controls will take some getting used to. I'm keeping my pre-order open 😊

Luigi's Mansion 3 has got almost my full attention. Though it was refreshing with a quick sauna break in Fire Emblem Three Houses
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion 3 - Gooigi Takes Ghost Busting To The Next Level
This game is so enjoyable. It gives me the same type of warm fuzzy feeling that Super Mario Odyssey did.
