I indeed already uploaded my first level
It's code is B8G-KLP-TWF for those interested. /shameless plug
I saw that while I had it pre-loaded
It’s like stability, only more pleasant?
online laggy as hell at times!
I hope to get this game when it comes down in price a bit. I didn't get on with the original, but there seems tl be enough new stuff to hook me. Before you say "Nintendo games don't come down in price", there's a few smaller online stores that usually have it a few pounds cheaper than elsewhere!
I got physical, should arrive today. It's 07:28 am in the UK
Just booted it up this morning and going through the story mode. Think I'll finish that and get all the new inspiration I can before starting to create. Spent a good few hundred hours creating on WiiU, so I wonder if I'll actually bother creating much this time :/ Right now I only feel like playing, but maybe the inspiration will come... I got that nice stylus in the mail today, so got to try it out at least
Got my pre-order in the mail box on my way to work. Didn't mind the daily commute much today
I do love a pleasant gaming experience.
Ah more pleasantness is what we need in this world.
Supposedly my physical is going to be delivered today, hopefully before lunch so can play all through lunch hour. (But there is fog this morning so the mail plane was delayed)
Edit: Just got delivered to work, WOW first time I've actually got something on time from Nintendo UK Store, yes can play it at lunch!!
I pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk for £35 a few months ago when they had a £5 off anything promotion.
Seems more....STABLE
Picking up my copy from Game on the way home tonight. Physical wherever possible!
@JohnnyC I've just picked mine up, the pre-order bonus stuff is lovely.
Maybe the update will make people actually attempt my levels...
@Alpha008 it makes the gaming experience more pleasant, not individual levels. Boom! Seriously though give the code and I'll try it out. I'll already give @sanderev level a go when I get it tonight.
Been playing since yesterday, the update was live then. Have made 3 courses already, 2 are uploaded and the 3rd i've had to adjust a little as i can't get to the finish line due to the sheer volume of squids.
Got the game. It's good. Story mode is weird: Will there be a 3d editor at some point, because the 3d hub works very nicely.
Hear that everybody? Nintendo released an unpleasant trash pile. But now it's more pleasant.
@sanderev Played your level, and beat it, on the first try. I'll work on one soon. Just been playing the Story Mode first. 26% done, currently. Decided to take a quick break. Gonna get back to it shortly. Again, will try to make a level soon.
3 more hours from now and I'll get my physical copy!
Walking around Walmart, like, 5 minutes away from a physical copy for $10 less.
@Lawnachaun I haven't seen that you beat it yet on the Switch, strangely..
I do however see people failing at the seesaw part of the level.
I posted an ingame hint but here is the solution:
Ground pound at the left side of the seesaw and then grab the P-switch (don't jump on it)
The level is quite easy. Simply I wanted to test the new mechanics a bit. My next level is going to be harder.
"a more pleasant gaming experience"
Princess Peach boob slider. 👑🍑
@sanderev When I played it, it said that nobody had played it yet. I even got the award for being the first to complete it when I beat it. I went a little slow, on purpose, since I wasn't sure what to expect. But I can definitely get a better time. Tho, I set the "record" when I beat it. But it didn't last long. Somebody beat it just a couple of mins after I did.
I'm in the middle of making my level. I have the beginning, and ending completed. Just working on the middle section.
@Lawnachaun tough getting plays on levels at the moment for creators hopefully over time they pop up in endless mario more often
maybe it fixed the bug they carried over from the first game
We call that a Day 1 patch when any one else does it.
@sanderev Ok. Just uploaded my first Super Mario Maker 2 level. It's slightly tricky in parts, but not hard. Especially the ending, which isn't too hard. Just timing. Tho, there is a way to make it much easier. But I won't spoil it. Feel free to try it, if you'd like. It's a full fledged level. Tho, kind of basic, for the most part. Should be easy enough to get you into the flow of the game. Good luck.

@quinnyboy58 Yeah. Same when the first came out. Give it time. Also, it helps to "advertise" your levels, to help get them out there for people to try. Speaking of which, you can try my first level, if you'd like. Not too hard. And there's a way to make it much easier, as I said in the previous post. Feel free to try, if you'd like. I'll make more later. Gonna work on Story Mode more soon.

@RevampedSpider No, but I can't justify £40 for something I might not get £40 of enjoyment out of.
@Lawnachaun You really should've added a checkpoint. And the spot with the two red pipes and all those monty moles. There is no way not to get hit there. You can't jump high enough and the red pipes release too many moles too quickly.
Also add some tier 2 upgrades (fire flowers).
@sanderev played your level, it was a but simple but for a first upload trying out new mechanics it was good. I played another level after and found it too frustrating so yours was at least pleasant. I had my family design my first course and I just edited it to make it gel ya know. But that's why it's quite simple and sticks to just the SMB1 theme with nothing too fancy. I don't have my switch to hand but if you have a look at people who like your course I should be there. 'LavaMike'.
@sanderev There are two mushrooms between the red pipes to help get through it, and another mushroom afterwards. So getting hit isn't a problem. Plenty of time to get a mushroom and get out, even if getting hit. And a Fire Flower would of made it too easy. Tho, a check point towards the end might work.
@sanderev Oh. And there's still a way to make it all much much easier too, that I'm sure you missed. I'll give you a hint, if you'd like.
@Lawnachaun Sure I'd like a hint, since I still fail at finishing it. I get to the bowser-duo. But then I always die.
I'm also working on my second level. Which will be a bit longer and harder than my first level. And also to test stuff like the scroll stop, clear pipes, and 3D World style in general
@sanderev Yeah. I spaced out the Monty Moles pipes a little further out, and added more mushroom spots there, to make it easier. I also added a checkpoint between the Monty Mole pipes and the the Bowser Duo, just before the flame pipes. I thought about putting another before the Monty Moles pipes, but now that they are spaced, with more mushroom, it feels like the two checkpoints would be too close to each other for that spot. And it (should) be really easy to get the Monty Mole spot. I'm not able to edit the uploaded level tho, I don't think. Will have to delete that one and re-upload a new one, I think. Will do that shortly.
In the meantime, the hint is towards the beginning of the level. There's a secret there that makes the level far far easier. I can give you another hint if you need one. But for now, check around the beginning area of the level.
@sanderev Here, try this level instead.. 30V-G9K-LTF
Same design style, only it should be easier, with more Power-Ups (including Fire Flowers, Invincibility Stars, and a Big Mushroom), a check point, no 'boss' at the end, and some secrets along the way. I was going to add a 2nd check point, but it said I reached my limit after 1. So I adjusted where the single Check-Point went, made things easier, and even had other people test it out a few times before I uploaded it, to get some design critiques and suggestions, and adjusted accordingly.
Good luck with that one. Shouldn't be too hard. I plan on making other style games, with more 'advanced' tools/techniques. But, just getting back into the flow of things. Been a while since I played the first game.
@Lawnachaun Got the first clear on that one. Was a nice level.
@sanderev Ok got the course ID, it's 9R2 YWP 80G - no one has played it yet which is quite upsetting when others get 1000s of plays. Weird. Maybe the title 'Family Idea Time' isn't commercially viable...
They've got to patch the ultra choppy and laggy online multiplayer. I can't know when to jump when the game is hitching and stopping, then allowing movement again 1/2 a second later. It ruins the online coop and competition. Aside from that SMM2 is absolutely incredible and I love it to death!
@sanderev Thanks. I put more time into that one, to make sure it was fair and playable. Still has the same trick as the first level, to help beat it really easily. If you've figured it out, great. If not, it'll definitely help in both levels. It's towards the beginning of each level.
I've got Super Mario Maker 2 but as usual want to finish my current game I'm playing first. Perhaps I should leave Nintendo to iron out a few issues first.
@sanderev Just uploaded my 3rd level, if you want to try. Tried to make it more fun, with more power ups and variety. Should be pretty easy.

Also, anybody else is free to try it as well. The more the merrier.
I’ve been at it since Friday morning. Liking the Pro Controller more than I expected. I kind not having to keep picking up and putting down a stylus each time I play test. And navigating around is pretty well thought out. Keep with it if it throws you at first, because you get used to the new methods.
Quick question, and it applies to SMM1 as well. Can anyone confirm if it’s designed that you never see your own levels in the Course World lists? I’ve never once seen one of mine pop up. I’m either really low rated or the game is designed not to show a user their own levels.
And I’ve already seen inappropriate content. Someone’s preview image was blocks making up a, well, let’s just say a symbol a lot of people aren’t too crazy about. I’d imagine it will get taken down soon enough. Why bother with that kind of thing? You know they’ll delete it and they may even have a way of banning you over it.
And I’m still not fully sold on the comments appearing all over the screen. It gets a little distracting and it also opens up the chances of more bad behavior, since you can still scribble pictures of butts or other such maturity to dress up someone’s work. I like the community feeling of it, but it gets to be like running through Times Square with all the billboards.
Still, fine upgrade. Looking forward to whatever may get added in down the line, but the new elements already bring a lot of new flexibility to it.
Hi
I have checked the game in the YouTube I did not find the option for the music. I like to play the game without the background music. I'm not a music guy I like to experience the game with the effect sounds only so please let's have an update with this option. If I see this option then I will buy the game. Thanks
