Re: Uh Oh, It Looks Like The Mario Movie Blu-ray Steelbook Release Date Leaked

@Member_the_game I only buy steelbooks of certain franchises I enjoy - but I think streaming services removing content from their platforms without notice makes people wary - i'll be for sure picking up the steelbook of this as part of my collection of Nintendo memorabilia, but i'd never purchase the standard blu-ray. It does still shock me that DVDs are still in print but they're still one of the most common disc media that people still buy even though its content is 480p

I agree with a few points, Sky-High Sundae to me was also a bit naff after being excited, the blind jump just isn't really that fun and its a bit too short and basic for my liking, the tracks as a whole do look better and I like that they updated the cars to move in Coconut Mall - some good tracks here, very minor visual issues aside from the 2D crowd on Sydney Sprint - still another 8 tracks to cause chaos on - love more MK content!

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch Sports - Familiar Fun With Friends, But Little More

Gumbo1995

@WiltonRoots You'd think with a game so simple they'd at least put the effort in to add more modes/games, even still it has less control and functionality from a game from 2006, and that was pretty bare bones - they're assuming the general consumers are dumber than those of 2006 - its a bad trend and a bit of a joke to think people will just stand around swinging at quick time events for fun

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch Sports - Familiar Fun With Friends, But Little More

Incredibly disappointing, they had SO much to build from the Wii Sport Resort game and they go backwards, Locking costumes behind NSO, less sports, 3 sports that play almost identical, the 3 sports that are almost identical feel WORSE than the 2006 base game, no freedom to move your racket about, just swing and hit, no training modes, no extra modes... why on earth do we need to wait til fall for GOLF a staple of both games, and its not like its very exciting waiting for golf when the latest first party sports game that dropped, was (which was another LACKLUSTER game) Mario Golf Super Rush... Rumours of basketball and dodge-ball, but given how little support Mario Party Superstars and Super Mario Party got...i don't expect an iota of effort from big N.

Lastly, its been nearly 20 years, why on earth don't we have the freedom to walk around the court in tennis and all the other sports - what a pathetic attempt of a game and shameful of Nintendo to try and ride off the popularity of a once great iconic series...and that's not even to mention the lack of focus on Miis

Honestly, don't waste your hard earned cash on this product, Nintendo don't deserve to profit from this

Re: Video: Comparing The OLED, Switch, And Switch Lite Screens

Gumbo1995

For the people that maybe haven't clocked this yet or experienced this in real life...OLED screens are pretty much only noticeable in person - you certainly aren't going to notice it on a tiny smart phone or a LCD monitor lol - just go to your local TV store and compare OLED tv's to the LCD ones, if you can't notice the obvious differences, then this console isn't for you

Re: Feature: Our Verdict On Mario Golf: Super Rush's 3.0 Update, Including New Characters And Courses

Gumbo1995

I've really enjoyed the game for what it is - I prefer the normal boring golf mode over speed golf - plus given speed golf is limited to 2 players per switch its not something I can really play as when friends come over its always 2 - 3 people.

The new characters are pretty good and their special moves are pretty great for screwing over pals and traversing the course, tend to find that most of the time you miss obstacles with their specials except if you slap bang hit a tree!

The new courses are super tough, the high trees on both new courses really seem to affect you more so here than the "tall" trees of the launch courses as most of the time you could just clear them regardless, now you have a solid chance of hitting the tops of the trees and falling to a complete halt which helps with the difficulty.

Another thing noticed is how the big catus, bushes and plants seems to affect your ball way more than it did on the original vanilla courses, again adding to the difficulty

The greens for both new courses are pretty difficult in their own right, i'm fairly certain the ice stage has more ball slow down physics than the others, meaning it feels the same as if it was to be raining on other courses but the green itself tends to be fairly flat, the dessert course has a much more hilly terrain across the fairway and on the greens making it harder to get them long bombs.

Another thing noticed was the 2 new courses have their own music much like new donk city, but since it isn't just jump up superstar playing these new beats are very fitting and I dig the ice courses music!

All in all, a much better and substantial update over the first, welcome addition of the CPU difficulty - now if only we could get some mini games thrown in as an update and the ability to turn on and off rain and other course obstacles...and give us Birdo!
