Is P3 like... a reasonable game? Like not 90 hours and a million lines of dialogue that are effectively hours long cutscenes? I tried the demo for 4 or 5 and basically I hated it. I just wanted to try the combat, so I fast forwarded the dialogue and just mashed A, and after like half an hour I STILL didn't get to combat and quit.

Silver Surfer! The best comics character. If you haven't read comics much, I recommend reading the Silver Surfer debut. Start with Fantastic Four #48-50. Then the original Silver Surfer run of 18 issues by Stan Lee and John Buscema.

MK8 is immortal

I pre-ordered one of these and am excited to install it when it's ready. I feel bad he is in the red though. Also, frankly, I didn't know that the technology was not complete and working. Had I known that he was still protyping at the time, I would have not bought one because I would have trusted that it would eventually work. No regrets though.

Why does Nintendo allow 3-lap races at all, then? Why not have random just select from only the three intermission courses offered when selecting?

How the heck did Donkey Konga sell well enough for them to greenlight a sequel?

I guess I'm confused about the disdain for key cards versus digital. I'm opposed to the concept too. But when the option is key card or digital, why not choose key card? At least you can lend it out and sell it that way. It's closer to ownership than digital. Am I missing something?

Funny, because I learned about this this morning listening to the Hard Fork podcast from the NY Times, and they were decidedly more optimistic in their coverage. I find that non-games journalism almost always gets gaming stories wrong. That said, it's only a matter of time before AI can destroy any Pokemon game. It's funny now, but it won't be soon.

@Wool_Sheep I think they've fully remade the game since then. That's why it keeps getting delayed. It's basically a new game, I'd bet.

@Lizuka agreed. A full remake is not going to do all that well. Certainly not enough to justify it financially, even if it does earn a profit.

Wow I had no idea they are up to 50. I'm playing Phantasy Star IV and Beyond Oasis on my Classics Collection right now. PSIV is excellent, and Beyond Oasis is a lot of fun too

@sixrings Disney+ has gotten insane with advertising. I have the cheapest tier, but a 40 minute episode of Skeleton Crew has three minutes of ads every five minutes. And I've been trying to figure out when the breaking point is for me. I don't know.

@molkom I didn't learn until recently that it doesn't have a camera built in because it seemed so obvious. 3DS had two cameras.

@bleeflooflah right. The actual problem is that wages have not kept pace with costs or rent. So we all have less money than we did 20 years ago.

GameCube was my first personal console purchase. Had played all of the others via my siblings before. But a couple of my brothers and I split the Sunshine bundle. For GBA, I've only ever owned the Micro, which I believe I bought used at a game store. It broke pretty quickly, but I still have it of course and intend to get it repaired some day. I think I inherited the first DS. I bought a DS Lite eventually, which I still this might be the best handheld ever. Close tie with the Micro for me. I'm so happy Reggie lost the argument bringing it to the states, but I wish they'd produced way more. I bought a 2DS used, which I like very much, but my SD card stopped working so I've got to get that in order eventually. I wish they'd made more 2DS's also. Magically underrated model. 've never actually owned Wii technically, but I have my brother's now that I can basically keep. I bought Wii U used on Craigslist, I believe, for Mario Kart. One of my favorite consoles; played Battalion Wars II yesterday. I finally got a Switch to play Tears of the Kingdom, but I didn't want to buy one lol so I asked my friend to give me his launch model, which he kindly did. Turns out I didn't like TotK anyway haha, but I've played a ton of Switch since, mostly on my Lite though, which I also bought used. Otherwise, I bought a PS4 new, and I think that's all. I'll get a PS5 eventually to play Ghost of Yotei. I'm also planning on getting a Playdate soon.

@Ulysses I was so excited for Kunitsu-Gami when it came out for PS4, but I played the demo and was really disappointed. I think there are lots of people who like it though

@Chlocean thank you for sharing. That's great news. I want the Switch 2 to be powerful and to run games well, even if not for me because I'm not likely to get one soon. I think people should be able to play games how they want on what they want. I normally don't worry about the technical performance and comparison videos that I think digital foundry does(?). But this time I'm excited for some detailed videos. I'm also looking forward to hardware breakdowns so people who know what they're talking about can explain what's actually inside.

@WoomyNNYes the infinite bombs in Breathe of the Wild was brilliant. Perfectly complemented the philosophy of freedom.

This was a fun exercise. Turns out I'm interested in MK, DK, and Kirby, and that's about it. I don't trust that the Switch 2 will run any of the more intensive games, like Cyberpunk and Harry Potter, sufficiently. I don't own a current gen console, but I can't imagine choosing to play these on Switch 2. I'll just wait until I get a PS5.

Have they said anywhere if an Expansion Pack subscription will be required to buy a GameCube controller?

What happened with controllers? My GameCube, Xbox, PS3. and PS4 controllers have never drifted.
