Is it weird that this is what I'm most excited for? And the GameCube controller. I was not expecting paddles. I haven't used them yet on modem controllers, so I'm not sure if I'll even like them, but I guess we'll find out. Anyone else liking paddles on other controllers?
@LimitedPower I'm a late adopter, basically one generation behind. I waited 8 years to get a PS4. And I waited until Tears of the Kingdom to get a Switch. Which I didn't even buy; my friend gave me his launch model. I'm a big proponent of waiting. For hardware, launch kinks get worked out. Software gets patched. And the library fills with enough titles to play.
@naxuu I think many many people are going to come to the same conclusion. I think Switch 2 is going to massively underperform. And I also don't trust it to run many of these games well. I have no confidence Cyberpunk and Elden Ring will run at an acceptable performance level. And if that's the case, then there is little argument for the console at all.
@Kimyonaakuma really? I think $450 is . . . too damn high! At least $50 too high. As I said in another thread, I would rather and will put less than that towards a playdate first.
@Megz3 agreed. I think the hardware argument is weak. I see basically nobody using the mouse or chat feature. The chat is obviously pretty laggy too because Nintendo has never done networking well, and still doesn't apparently. I was astounded by some of the features announced, in that I didn't know they aren't already available on Switch. Like local play with multiple systems. How is that not already a feature? The DS had it 20 years ago.
I'm working through Super Mario RPG and Phantasy Star IV. And I'm finishing Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Then I'll be onto FFIX for the first time. Or I'll start Suikoden. Haven't decided yet. As you can see, I'm catching up on JRPGs I missed. Which are many.
Why do I feel like I'm in the minority preferring parallel analog sticks? I remember listening to some gaming podcast years ago where one of the hosts said they despised playing on PlayStation because the analog sticks weren't offset.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Switch Online's Updated Tiers Including Switch 2 Exclusives
Have they said anywhere if an Expansion Pack subscription will be required to buy a GameCube controller?
Re: Opinion: No One Is Talking About The Switch 2's Best Feature
What happened with controllers? My GameCube, Xbox, PS3. and PS4 controllers have never drifted.

Damn that was my guess too!
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Direct April 2025 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer
@WolfyTn I'm going to get a playdate for my next console. No question. Far better value proposition for a poor bloke with no free time like me.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Direct April 2025 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer
I'll wait for the Switch 2 Lite myself
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Direct April 2025 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer
I will be getting that GameCube controller. I won't be subscribing to the expansion pack, but I'll be getting the controller nonetheless.
Re: The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - All New Features Revealed
@imgrowinglegs mine does not drift
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 'GameShare' Brings A New Way To Play Locally On Multiple Systems
Please clarify something for me. Can I use a Switch lite as a controller for local multiplayer?
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 'GameShare' Brings A New Way To Play Locally On Multiple Systems
Can you really not do this with the current Switch? DS had this 20 years ago
Re: Check Out Donkey Kong Bananza's Beautiful Switch 2 Box Art
Oh wait. Why does the art look like it was misprinted too small? What's with the edges?
Re: Check Out Donkey Kong Bananza's Beautiful Switch 2 Box Art
That's a dang nice box
Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Is Getting A Free Performance Upgrade On Switch 2
@swoose I haven't played Pokemon in a while. Do gym battles normally scale? Is that good or bad?
Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Is Getting A Free Performance Upgrade On Switch 2
Wohoho! Free! Don't get carried away, Nintendo!
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
@nuke13 I laughed too from the absurdity
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
Well Nintendo is going to be sorely disappointed
Re: Gallery: Here's A Closer Look At The Switch 2 Console And Accessories
Dope steering wheel. Have any of you played MK8 with it? Do you like playing that way?
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
@Erigen the original Switch reveal movie is one of the best game/console trailers ever

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
@RenanKJ that's not how I see it. I see it as Nintendo edging out physical with shrewd marketing tactics.
Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 'Game-Key Cards' Somehow Manage To Make Codes-In-A-Box Worse
@Burning_Spear I couldn't believe that either
Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 'Game-Key Cards' Somehow Manage To Make Codes-In-A-Box Worse
I've never seen so many anti-consumer decisions at once
Re: Sakurai's 'Kirby Air Riders' Is Speeding Onto Switch 2
@Theghostofkeithmoon agreed, it's an odd choice highlighting two racing games. Not sure why they didn't wait for the Kirby announcement.
Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
@Neither_scene competition is the best argument for capitalism, when it exists. I'm hoping the Xbox handheld is pretty good, and affordable.
Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
@Hank_Scorpio really? Did prices come down for the next generation?

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
@Joeynator3000 I've been expecting $70 for first party titles. Wasn't Tears of the Kingdom $70. But $80 is madness.

@8bit4Life is that true? Those amounts at that time?
Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
That is absolute madness. And the mark up for physical is offensive.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Priced At $449.99 For The Base Console
No thanks. Would rather invest half of that into a PlayDate.
Re: Sakurai's 'Kirby Air Riders' Is Speeding Onto Switch 2
@Theghostofkeithmoon look up Kirby Air Ride for GameCube
Re: Sakurai's 'Kirby Air Riders' Is Speeding Onto Switch 2
Actually, I've been meaning to own it forever. So I jumped onto eBay real quick and just laid down $55 while it is still semi-affordable.
Re: Sakurai's 'Kirby Air Riders' Is Speeding Onto Switch 2
Damn I should have bought the original before now. Now we're going to a premium.
Edit: bought it.
Re: Donkey Kong: Bananza, A New 3D DK Adventure, Is Confirmed For Switch 2
F*ing game of the show. So awesome looking. This and Kirby Air Riders are the only games that I'm considering getting one for.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Launches On 5th June 2025
I predicted mid May, so I was a little early

Re: Random: Sega Surprises Sonic The Hedgehog Fans With Official Timeline
I forgot about 4. How is it?
Re: Star Wars: Hunters Servers To Close Later This Year
I'm a little surprised by this one because the game was actually pretty fun and seemed to be balanced well for noobs and veterans.
Re: Capcom Provides Update On Game Changes In 'Fighting Collection 2'
I'm getting this for the Power Stones, and I can't wait
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th March)

@Ryu_Niiyama what is it you dislike about the symmetrical layout? Is it safe to assume you haven't played PlayStation much?

Re: Poll: Which Starter Pokémon Will You Choose In Legends: Z-A?
Wow, I didn't know Totodile is so popular
Re: Final Minecraft Movie Trailer Still Hasn't Convinced Us On The Big-Screen Adaptation
There's not a chance in the seven realms this is going to be even ok. We're looking at somewhere between bad and atrocious.
Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Looks Cool, But It's Lacking Arceus' Unique Style
@kalosn are you saying that the engine for Z-A is different than what they used for Arceus?
