@Williamfuchs420 Agreed, Xbox has been making a play on Game Pass for awhile now, completely aware they will not win in console sales against Nintendo and Sony.
@wuntyme8 Thanks, I thought you might appreciate that! Hopefully using your pun doesn't make too many other people cringe; I'd hate to embarrass myself to a bunch of anonymous strangers on the NL site!
@GuyProsciutto you name yourself after some ham and accuse someone of being cringey? were the other options GuySalami or GuyPepperoni? the irony... besides @wuntyme8 ain't hurting no wun!
I was turned off by the graphics too, but Cotton Rock n' Roll (the Japanese version of this), is a really fun game. In motion, the game actually looks really good and plays smoothly with a good selection of characters that have their own different playstyles. Worth checking out if you like shmups and especially if you liked Cotton Reboot!
Sup with the joyless haters on here. Have none of you ever tried to dig a hole on the beach for no practical reason except it was fun for you and your friends? Like any other type of gaming is somehow a more productive use of your time. Don't worry, when you tell someone you 100 percented some other game, some jerk out there will think you completely wasted your time too.
@Hck what are you talking about? Play-asia prices are the same as Amazon.co.jp. their shipping prices now are actually better than Amazon Japan. Source: me, who has bought from both multiple times.
Nice, now if only Hamster provided a release schedule. At best, you may find out a day or two in advance what will come out that week, but keeps every week interesting I guess.
This wasn't really on my radar, but now a day one after my kid and I couldn't stop playing the demo. Loved how the demo gives you a sense of progression by leaking out a couple of the new characters to keep you playing.
I love the genre and buy a lot of shmup releases full price at day one to support such a niche genre, but I have to admit $60 for this collection of games is too much. It would help if Space Invaders Extreme 2 and Infinity Gene were included.
Found this on a blog if this helps anyone digest the $12,000,000 amount.
"Apparently copyright infringement involving images that are registered with the U.S. Copyright Office allows for statutory damages of up to $30,000, or $150,000 if it can be demonstrated it was a willful act."
If you do the math for 80 images you'll get your $12,000,000 number. (If curious, the article's about how a company lost $4000 over not licensing a $10 image https://blog.webcopyplus.com/2011/02/14/legal-lesson-learned-copywriter-pays-4000-for-10-photo/)
The load times after dying are a serious detriment to this kind of game where you want to just jump right back into the action. Emphasized more so where the challenge is packed into short levels, so it's possible to die frequently in a short time span or even right after you respawn. I was considering canceling my pre-order when I noticed this in the demo, but I assumed this would be fixed in the final build, super disappointed to find out it did not.
Is there a date on when the western version is coming out? Debating on whether to wait or just get the Asia region version with English from Play-Asia.
As much as I love Ghouls n' Ghosts playing this while I play Nioh 2 on PC might lead to one frustrated, frazzled gamer who ended up smashing his Switch, his PC, or both.
+1 for Mars Matrix. Surprised it's not a part of the initial Capcom Arcade Stadium lineup but hopefully that will do well enough so they release more packs; such as one with Giga Wing 2! On the shmup tip, Raizing's games would be great, I've always wished for a port of Dimahoo with its kickass bosses.
The 194X series, Forgotten Worlds, Giga Wing, and Progear have me super excited. Plus, from this features video it looks like on top of global leaderboards for every game there'll be a weekly challenge; hoping that those will give these arcade experiences some legs. Capcom often makes terrible decisions, but have to give them props for these more niche old school releases right before their big Monster Hunter drops in March. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZ_A7ElEdXg
"Cave Story is one of the most important games every made and I will 100% recommend you do not buy it. Download the freeware original, then buy Kero Blaster to support the actual developer of the game, instead of these ugly shenanigans."
Ugly is the key word here. So sad to see this happen to one of the earlier indie success stories and such a fun innocent game. So innocent that it was released for free. I've always felt many Cave Story purchasers did so to support the developer. This ***** taking advantage of that good will is just flat out gross.
Been playing this on novice since I enjoy bullet hells but am not the best at them. Close to a 1cc but it's been good practice to work up the original mode. The new arrange modes are really fun too, bummer you can't play as the 4th ship in those but maybe they thought it'd be too OP.

When is that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition pre-order going live on My Nintendo so I can completely miss it when it sells out in 2 seconds?
