Re: Sounds Like Bandai Namco Really Is Working on Metroid Prime 4

G_M

@NEStalgia Dude, grow up. Not everyone likes games that are "Nintendo hard" nowadays. There is a reason why the game flopped commercially, and you attributing that to people being "lazy" is super short-sighted. People crying about the game being good after you get used to the controls aren't much better either.

You liked the game, which is good. But seriously, get over yourself.

Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Eager to See More Mature Games on the Switch

G_M

@shani I didn't even insult him, but okay. Have you ever stopped to consider that his overblown reaction might be insulting to others, whom don't share the same tastes in gaming as him?

Also, since when has it been mandatory to divulge your full personal details on the internet for your opinion to be valid? Does this mean that Anti-Matter's comments are also invalid because HE hides behind a monitor? What about your opinion of us "boogeymen", whom call out Anti-Matter on his childish tantrums?

I have nothing to be ashamed of, so I will kindly decline your offer. As for you, please grow up.

Re: Creator Of Cancelled Metroid Fan Game AM2R Is Looking Forward To Samus Returns

G_M

@ShadJV Look, I won't deny that what he did is, by definition, illegal. I think that more than anything, people are praising him for a good reply to a simple question. He could have been resentful when giving his answer, but he chose not to. Nothing more, nothing less.

Fortunately, you won't need to post a link to prove anything, as I believe you. But my point still stands. We're not talking about young teenage kids here, but an adult part of the fanbase, who I assume would be techsavvy enough to know how to pirate games on a 3DS.

As much as I'd like to agree with you on that last point, I have to slightly disagree with you on that. Sadly enough, we live in an age where most people put graphics above gameplay, so the 3DS remake would win on the merits of its graphics alone.

But I think that more than anything, this is about opinion alone, so to each their own.

Re: Creator Of Cancelled Metroid Fan Game AM2R Is Looking Forward To Samus Returns

G_M

@ShadJV Not really. I don't get the hate you and a lot of other people seem to have for this guy. AM2R is a free experience. Sure, there is no proof that many of the people, whom have played the fan game, will go out and buy the Mercury Steam remake of the game, but similarly, there is no proof that the opposite is true either.

In my personal opinion, both are completely different games. Just looking at the art style (3D vs 2D) alone is enough of a difference to justify the $40 price tag. Plus, the 3DS games has a bunch of features that the fan remake lacked, like the 360 degree aiming, the melee/counter move, the map on the lower screen, etc.

Besides, people who weren't planning on paying for the official remake of the game can just as easily pirate it for their modded 3DS shortly after the game comes out. I'm not saying that I condone that kind of behavior, but it's a possibility, and the fan remake would have absolutely nothing to do with it if people actually went and did that. Pirates are gonna pirate, no matter what.

So I think it's unfair to keep giving this guy flak for creating his fan game. Nintendo issued a cease and desist, and he complied. The game is still out there on the web, but honestly, there are a bunch of other flash games with Nintendo owned property out there, which you can play for free.

Re: Rumour: Artwork for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Posted Online

G_M

@Anti-Matter which is perfectly understandable. I don't really hate the rabbids, but I don't really care for them either.

Just to be clear, I completely respect your opinion. After all, it's obvious that a lot of people hate the design and behavior of the rabbids, so a lot of people are bound to be disappointed by this game's mere existence.

Having said that, I will say that I'm curious about the gameplay.

Re: Rumour: Artwork for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Posted Online

I love how this comment section has devolved into people complaining about the other people complaining about the rabbids, while touting their "open mindedness".

Too bad that none of you is open minded about the fact that most people just do not like the rabbids. Seriously, this whole "holier than thou" shtick is getting rather played out, people.

Re: NieR: Automata Designer is Open to the Idea of a Switch Port

G_M

@PanurgeJr I love how you feel the need to put in that little jab at the "haters" in your comment for no apparent reason. Insecure about your gaming choices much?

But then again, you sound like the kind of person that would purchase and enjoy a game, which only features one screen with Platinum/Nintendo's logo on it, so...

Re: Guide: A Breakdown of Confirmed Nintendo Switch Games and Release Dates

G_M

@MrGawain Correction, you are a fan"boy". And I'm simply saying that because of you feel the need to label every game in the PS4 library as "grey" and "dull". Just like any other fanboy that doesn't actually take the time to check whether they are factually correct.

You just can't stand enjoying games for what they are, and need to tell the world that your console of choice is way better than other people's consoles, just to get some sort of empty sense of accomplishment, which I find baffling.

Want another ignorant statement? Nintendo consoles are primarily made for kids. Fanboys such as yourself would actually battle that statement, since you don't know the meaning of the word "hypocrisy".

Ironically, people like you are the real problem when it comes to gaming, not the other way around. These "grey" and "dull" games actually sell on platforms like the PS4, PC and Xbox for a reason. Seeing ignorant people like you dismiss sales numbers is just so, sooo sad.

But hey! Who am I tell you how to act? You obviously enjoy playing on a machine which has little to no significant games. Enjoy yet another generation of game droughts, with your twisted sense of pride!

Re: Talking Point: The Leaps and Falls of Super Mario Run's Launch

G_M

Gotta love all the crybabies in the Nintendolife comments section. Always getting sore when their favorite, behind-the- times developer gets flak for making dumb decisions. That's Nintendrones from the Nintendo Defense Force for ya!

Speaking of the NDF, Nintendo could probably make a game out of that, where you play as a dumb, aimless, Nintendo cry baby, who has to do damage control every single time Nintendo mucks up. Oh wait. They'd probably mess that up too.

Oh, Nintendo. Never change!

Re: Editorial: As Games Jump to Nintendo Switch, We See How Quickly the Industry Moves On

G_M

@Syrek24

I didn't care for those things either (the voice chat and the console's power compared to the competition, that is), but I think that your comment sounds a tad arrogant.

Putting the words "Nintendo" and "fan" between quotation marks to suggest that dismayed or less than pleased fans aren't true fans just makes you look like a jerk.

I mean, it's GOOD that YOU and a few others had a good time with the console, but superimposing your opinion over that of other people, who have a problem with how Nintendo handled the Wii-U, and chalking it up to "fan toxicity" instead of legit reasons seems super ignorant, and highly uncalled for.

Almost all the games you listed there will more than likely get an enhanced version on the Switch, which makes my (along with many other people's) purchase of those same games redundant.

Ironically enough, the game that finally made me purchase my Wii-U was Mario Kart 8. I saw that as proof that Nintendo would do everything in their power to develop more interesting games from their core franchises for the console. Now it turns out that the same game will come out on the Switch with more content. To a lot of people, that's infuriating.

In the end, the Wii-U didn't even get an exclusive Zelda game. ZELDA, out of all their franchises. All we got were slightly altered HD versions of pre-existing Zelda games. That says a lot about why a lot of people feel ripped off by Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo Isn't The Only Company Impacted By The Failure Of The Wii U

G_M

@subpopz I think that the name only added to the confusion when Nintendo initially revealed the Wii-U at E3. Remember, they put a lot of focus on the pad, and at some point, even showed the pad resting on the Wii zapper peripheral. Calling their new system the Wii-U didn't really help them in that regard.

What really did them in with the Wii-U, though, are the long dry spells in-between high profile releases AND the fact that they released without many important launch titles.

Re: Nintendo Isn't The Only Company Impacted By The Failure Of The Wii U

G_M

@TechJunkie69

Deus Ex Human Revolution (re-release)
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD (remaster)
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD (remaster)
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (dual release)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (re-release)
Rayman Legends (re-release)
Shovel Knight (re-release)

Most of these are re-releases on a different console, so you don't need a Wii-U to play them. And arguing that the Wii-U is the best system to play these games on is highly subjective.

2 of those Zelda games already existed on prior Nintendo consoles, and could be played on the Wii, so those aren't really reasons to buy a Wii-U.

As for Breath of the Wild, it was a game that Nintendo promised to release on the Wii-U a loooooong time ago, but eventually delayed, just for a simultaneous release on both systems, which is a really bizarre reason if you ask me.

The fact that it played Wii games was a plus, I will admit, but you might as well stick with a Wii, if you're looking for a new console to play your old Wii games on.

Re: Editorial: Rediscovering the Gems of the Wii U Library

G_M

I love how a lot of the commenters here can't mention their love for the console without bashing Playstation and Microsoft in some pathetic attempt to validate their choice of console.

While the Wii-U is a great system in my opinion, I won't go as far as to state that PS4 and Xbone have little to no games to play. There is a reason why those systems are selling more than the Wii-U (which is a fact, before some Nintendrone decides to attack me for my "opinion").

Love and play whichever console you want to play, but please refrain from being a mindless drone under the control of a company, that probably isn't even aware of your existence...

Re: Video: Check Out Some Intriguing Metroid Prime: Federation Force Footage

G_M

@Olmectro None of those games are new. You just said it yourself, they're COMPILATIONS of retro classics, so your counter argument doesn't really make any sense.

As for Shovel Knight, it's actually meant to look retro. That was a stylistic choice, just like how they've gone with chibi characters in fed force, so both your arguments are invalid.

There is nothing wrong with with thinking that this game is good regardless of other people's opinions, but man, both your counter arguments started crumbling right out of the gate.
