@Heavyarms55 - Perhaps I'm mistaken, but isn't Psycho Pass relatively light on fantastical elements? Admittedly I've only seen the first season, but it didn't look too crazy for a sci-fi crime noir.
As for live-action vs animation, my guess is: Animation=Cartoon=Less Realistic=Less Mature/Relatable=Less Appealing. This applies for both kids and adults. Even within animation, 3D is much more appealing apparently than 2D, and the more realistic you can get, the better (notice how the highest grossing animated film currently is the live-action adaptation of The Lion King). It probably doesn't help that barely anyone outside Japan even makes 2D animated films any more.
Also, to be fair, Japan is also guilty of making live-action adaptations if animated properties (AoT, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc.) so it's not like the US is the only one doing it
@AlexSora89 - I don't know how well it'll be executed, but I love the concept of the pokemon camp; It's a step towards a more vibrant, organic game where pokemon are more than just battle machines. "As for technical limitations, well no" Why? The devs literally came out and explained that technical limitations were the reason. They literally said "There are too many pokemon, we couldn't fit them all into the game". Which part of that is too hard to understand? "Hoenn, the very same region that invented lack of retrocompatibility" Ignoring the likely technical problem of trying to transfer something from a Game Boy/Colour game to a GBA game. Given the GBA didn't have a second GB slot like the DS had, or online like the DS onwards did, how exactly were they going to accomplish this? "That, right there, is how "accidental" these "necessary evils" are. Wait as a different region - either new or remade - exploits Galar's absent Pokémon (or, Arceus willing, a complete U-turn) as a selling point. Wait and see." No offence, but I think you're starting to lean towards consipracy theories here. You seem adamant on believing that the 'dexit' situation is being done for malevolent reasons, even though not only is there no evidence to support that, but it makes zero sense from a business perspective (how often are you going to hear someone say "Ooh, "x" pokemon is in, I'm definitely interested in the game now"?). Not only that, but you're effectively saying that GameFreak can't ever deal with the problem later on, or even mitigate it, lest it be labelled as a marketing stunt (even though it makes perfect sense to have more pokemon in future switch games, since there'd be no-where near as much work required).
@AndreaF96 - So basically: 1 - They removed an old gimmick. 2 - They removed an old gimmick. 3 - They removed the national dex. 4 - They removed the national dex. 5 - They removed the national dex.
Also, as I already mentioned before, the reason why not all pokemon are being included, is because the number of pokemon was getting too high. It was already getting bad in Sun/Moon, which is why that game didn't get a proper national dex, and now they've got the same situation, only with more pokemon, and on a new console (so they can't just copy+paste like they probably did in Sun/Moon).
@AlexSora89 - On the Gen III thing, to be fair, if it weren't for Satoru Iwata stepping in, we wouldn't have even gotten Kanto in Gen II, so I'd hazard a guess that including Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn into a single game, without Mr Iwata's involvement, would've been, like the national dex now, a bridge too far. Maybe, but then we wouldn't have ORAS, which would be an absolute shame imo Sure, but if the problem is a technical one that's only going to get worse over time, all the desire in the world won't make much of a difference; Eventually something's gotta give.
@NoxAeturnus - No problem, and I definitely agree, pretending everything's fine and not allowing any criticism at all is a step too far the other way imo. It's completely fine to have problems with something, just keep it in perspective.
@NoxAeturnus - They may have already done so; have you noticed the amount of pokemon spin-offs has decreased quite a bit recently? It used to be, you got quite a few pokemon games, on both console and handheld, but these days, GO, Let's GO!, and Masters seem to be the only ones pushed out, and two of them are mobile games filled with microtransactions. As for Gamefreak not moving to console, that may have been a factor, but it was probably not the deciding one; bigger ones would've included sales, since Nintendo handhelds have always sold more than consoles, and suitability, since pokemon is ultimately a social game, and that's still best done on a portable system. @AlexSora89 - Even if it were deserving of some criticism, is it worth large, constant swarm of negativity that it's been getting? Is it really worth it? That's my biggest problem, not that the game is getting some criticism, but that it's been completely blown out of proportion (same goes for the "it looks like a 3DS game" thing, which puzzles me to no end). Basically what JaxonH just posted in much more detail above xD
As for the marketing thing, yeah, sure, but that's a case of taking an already present situation and using it to help sell the game. Unless it leads to alterations in which pokemon get put into which game, there's little actually wrong with that. (To put it another way, if they were already going to put, say, Psyduck into the next game, advertising that fact wouldn't really be manipulative or deceptive unless the decision to include him was done purely for marketing purposes.)
@AlexSora89 - Because as has been mentioned before, it was unavoidable; when you've got a pokedex that keeps growing, eventually, it's going to get too much to handle within the constraints provided, and at that point, you've got to seriously consider an alternative solution. (Heck, Smash Bros had the same problem with the trophies; they ended up downgrading them to spirits to fit them all in) What we've got as a result (iirc) is a rotation model where some will be available at some moments, but swapped out in others, thus technically allowing all pokemon to remain, just not at the same time. It's honestly the best thing you can get outside of having them all in at the same time, and, imo, I've no problem with them going with the next best option if their first isn't available.
@GameOtaku - Except all of the mainline Persona games have been (with the technical exception of Persona 1 being ported to Windows in 99') kept to Playstation platforms, so at the very least, there seems a keen interest from Atlus in keeping Persona off other platforms, even Windows.
@oji - To be fair, Fire Emblem Warriors isn't that unique for a Musou game, especially compared to Hyrule Warriors, so it's no surprise the game hasn't been satisfying. This game though, from what I've seen so far, seems to be a bit more unique within the Musou sub-genre, so it could end up being one of the better musou games in that regard.
@R_Champ - Is it any worse than Cloud getting into Smash 4? At least here he's the main character in a major spin-off/sequel, unlike Cloud who was, at best, a cameo in a GBA game.
Given the Switch version was the one I was interested in getting, this is definitely a disappointment, but I guess if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes.
Going by the comments, this is probably a stupid question, but given Nintendo owns the Switch platform, wouldn't the final decision on whether a game is put on it ultimately be theirs?
As for whether I'd like more SF, given we've already gotten the 30th Anniversary Collection, unless there's a way to get SF V on the platform, I'm fine for now.
Haven't really played the original version of Resi 2, so my vote goes to REmake (which for some reason is grouped with the original Resi 1) and Resi 4.
@retro_player_22 - I think that's short-changing switch owners a bit. I have a switch, and have never played Persona 5, yet I know enough to know that's where Joker came from. I mean, it's not like the game was a niche title with only a small following, this was a game that made multiple best of 2017 lists, so anyone even mildly interested in games should at least be able to recognise him as "that guy from Persona 5".
@Heavyarms55 - It's because he's cute, pink and cuddly, which seems to be popular in Japan. @Sakuraichu - To be fair, I also asked that question, and I'm a Fire Emblem fan, I just haven't gotten round to getting that game yet (still going through the 3DS titles) so I don't know any of the character's names yet.
As far as Nintendo franchises go, I think the only big one I've so far haven't gotten around to playing is Animal Crossing. As for individual Nintendo titles, probably the biggest one would be Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Never got round to getting it when it was available, and now it seems to cost a small fortune to acquire, so unless Nintendo decide to eventually get round to re-releasing their gamecube library, it's probably gonna stay that way.
Like others have pointed out, making the top Wii U title in 2019 isn't that great a feat, especially if the bulk of the orders are protest orders from Westerners. But I guess the point is to keep the comment wars going, so * shrugs* I guess it's good enough for that.
The Rogue Squadron Trilogy would be the titles I'd be most interested in seeing on Switch. Throw in Episode 1: Racer, Shadows of the Empire, and maybe Jedi Starfighter and I'd be set.
@HappyMaskedGuy - "Why not ask where the greatly needed updates and new DLC are for MK8? We PAID for that game. We deserve to be treated as priority. New cups? New characters? An updated multiplayer system?" Err....what?
@Silly_G - You seem to have missed the point I made so I'll say it again: Games are not incomplete just because they have DLC. DLC is in most cases an addition to the base game, not part of it. The extra Smash characters are just that, extra characters. You don't need to buy all or any of them to get a "complete experience". If you want to buy a copy of Smash and play it without paying extra for DLC then go for it! There's literally nothing stopping you from doing that.
Well if you're comparing it to the base game, then of course the pricing/content ratio is gonna look a bit wack. That'd be like comparing the content of a TV season to a Film and saying that the film is a rip-off. Really, the only thing that matters regarding DLC pricing is whether or not it's worth paying for that particular piece of content; everything else is honestly irrelevant.
The concept of DLC itself is perfectly fine provided you realise that it's optional and not mandatory; the only problem is when it gets abused, which only really happens with some titles from company's like EA, and even then, as I said, it's optional. Even Fire Emblem, whose DLC does tend more towards the pricey range, usually just provides fan-service content for those who are into that kind of thing.
Except that only works in cases where DLC costs money; in cases such as Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Odyssey, and Kirby Star Allies, all the content is patched into the game, so what would be the point of releasing a "complete edition" when you're not really missing out on the content in the first place?
@Silly_G - Except DLC is usually not only cheaper than a sequel, but also adds on to the previous game rather than replaces it. Why take this extra content and release it as a 'sequel' when you can just add it to the previous game and not only keep the original content, but also get the newer stuff cheaper?
Also, I should point out that a lot of DLC (especially for Nintendo games) are no where near as bad as you make them seem. In a lot of cases, the games ARE complete, the DLC's just function as optional additional content for those who want more of the same.
@Mountain_Man - Only if it were a replacement, which it isn't. It's just there to provide more options, particularly to those who only want a gameboy-esque handheld device and would much prefer a Switch Lite to a Switch.
Another reminder that I really ought to play Paper Mario: TYD and Eternal Darkness at some point. Unfortunately, unless Nintendo start re-releasing their gamecube library and/or whoever owns the rights to Eternal Darkness release a remaster/port of the latter, I'll probably never get the chance.
On another note, is Skies of Arcadia really that good?
Looking at the results, mine seem to be Metroid Prime/2, F-Zero GX, Zelda: Wind Waker, and Resident Evil, which sounds about right. Might add Eternal Darkness and Paper Mario: TTYD to that list if I ever get to play them.
@Woomy_NNYes - Pretty sure they're all sequels; Mario Party games had a tendency to be released yearly, which is how the N64 got 3 games and the Gamecube 4. It wasn't until after Mario Party 8 that Nintendo decided to slow the rate of releases.
@RedderRugfish - Unlikely; that would require creating a single-player component for Overwatch, something Blizzard doesn't seem interested in doing atm.
So far I think the worst I've experienced is the L button on my DS Lite not quite working properly (in sharp contrast, my Xbox 360 got the RRoD twice and was basically unplayable after a while); outside that, all the Nintendo consoles/handhelds I've had have worked fine.
Probably would've given it a 7/10 myself; 6/10 seems a bit low for a game that sounds fairly solid outside the multiplayer, especially since the first Turok also didn't have MP, and it was given a 7/10.
@Fandabidozi - You might be waiting a while; I don't think Nintendo is interested in the Minis at the moment, what with the Switch selling well and the previous minis being described as a one-time novelty.
@Haywired - There are quite a few reasons for why the Wii U was a commercial disaster, but I don't think the gamepad was one of them (unless it was a point about how underutilised it was, but it probably wasn't in this case).
On the topic, personally, I've yet to be that disappointed with a piece of Nintendo hardware (though I've yet to try Labo, so that may change) so I can't say I'm fussed with these comments from Miyamoto. If it leads to something interesting, then why not? It's not like they won't release a more traditional controller alongside it anyway, so it's not like anyone loses out.
@Heavyarms55 - To be fair, from what I understand, One Piece is better as a manga than as an anime, so maybe you'll have better luck there?
@CapricornDavid - As someone who's played both PW3 and HW, I can definitely say I much prefer HW overall, and not just because of the roster. Not that I didn't like PW3, but it didn't seem to do much with the One Piece licence outside the characters and setting imo, whereas HW was able to include Zelda elements into the game mechanics to make for a more unique playing experience.
As for the game, it's obviously too early to tell, but it seems the game is going to focus on the Big Mom arc that finished last year which, for me, wouldn't be much of a problem if the game were coming out later this year, but for a 2020 release, I'd have thought they'd include at least some of the current Wano arc.
Welp, at least there's one change from the original: Team Rocket are no longer pretending to be vikings, but instead appear to be pretending to be sailors instead.
As for the film as a whole, I'm still of the belief that the art style looks fine on the pokemon themselves, but for the human characters it doesn't really work that well.
@superpotion - Except for the last 5 minutes, they made sure to cut that out.
@kenyowa - Isn't this comment a direct response to fan complaints? Fans expressed their viewpoint on the decision to not have all pokemon in Sword/Shield and Masuda responded with a direct explanation why their decision was made. What else do you expect them to do?
@graysoncharles - To be fair, if the only people buying the game are those who would only buy it on principle, then it's probably not gonna sell well regardless. It's unlikely to live or die depending on whether a few hundred Nintendo console owners decide to splash out or not. Also, as I've said before, I was open to buying the game, but the price was just a bit too much for something that wasn't on my 'must-buy' list (not that my buying it would've helped much in any event, but still).
@kobashi100 - From what I've seen it did really well in it's first month, but has slowed down significantly since (only selling another half a million at most between August and January). I'm guessing that's why SE decided to then port the game to other systems.
While I'm disappointed the Switch loses another high profile 3rd party exclusive, if the reason is due to the game underperforming on Switch, then unless there's some legal/contractual problem (which doesn't seem to be an issue in this case), it's probably fair game for them to release it elsewhere. That said, I'm not too sure how many sales they were expecting with that price point. $45 seemed a bit much for what it was, and I can't imagine many getting it unless they were already sold, but I could be wrong.
@Grumblevolcano - From what I understand, the main problem with losing exclusives, besides losing a selling point for the console, is that it reflects poorly on the success of the console to other 3rd party developers. If games like TSA and even Octopath can't make it on Switch, that sends a message to other developers that the Switch isn't really much of a money maker for them, and they might be better off taking their games elsewhere.
@Heavyarms55 - To be fair, the MMO The Old Republic is still running, and a couple of old games (original Star Wars Battlefront and Episode 1: Racer) were recently added to GoG and Steam, so clearly there's at least some interest in selling "Legends" material, just not as much as stuff from the current canon (which is probably fair enough).
Personally, I'd be fine with a remastered collection of the trilogy for Switch, but even that's prob unlikely, given EA controls the video game side of Star Wars.
Never really got the 'this game looks like an upres 3DS game' comments, but in any case, like others have said, this seems more as a reassurance to traditional fans that the upcoming games will be more traditional than the Let's Go! ones were.
@MoonKnight7 - Which elements are you referring to? Outside of not being able to battle wild pokemon, I didn't think there was much removed that was actually integral to the experience.
@Rhaoulos - I dunno if they were that big. Sure Goldeneye was a bit hit, but it wasn't as if Nintendo didn't have their own titles that were as big or bigger.
Regarding more minis, I'd be fine with more, though I'd also like if they did something more akin to the VC or NES Online for the Switch, if only so I could play these old games without having to sit in front of a TV.
@StuTwo - While not month-after-month, to be fair, in 2014 we got DKC: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U, along with indie games like Shovel Knight. I think that's what he means when he refers to the 'mid period of the Wii U'.
Hearing SNES style RPG nowadays makes me feel a bit wary, but watching the trailer it doesn't look too bad (though the mechas seem a bit out of place) and the limited edition case looks nice. Be interesting to see how it turns out.
@SIX - Technically, can you call any of the Resi games 'survival horror'? Also, Resi 5 isn't that similar to 4; while they do share some elements, 4 at least tried to combine action with suspense (even though the island section, outside the regenerators, didn't really succeed in that aspect). Resi 5 on the other hand, just goes all in on the action-side of things, with maybe a couple of sections that could be considered suspenseful/scary.
This seems like a good place to ask, but what's up with the demand for physical releases for just about every Switch game these days?
Personally, I think if the game went for an art style more like the animated intro, I would've loved it, but as it is, I'm probably gonna end up leaving this one and sticking with the original for the foreseeable future.
@NEStalgia - Well, I don't know about anyone else, but speaking personally, while I can't really call it a bad direct, there were a lot of titles I wasn't really interested in. There were some I did like, such as Mario Maker 2, Dragon Quest XI, Hellblade, and Astral Chain, but others like BoxBoy, Tsum Tsum, Dead by Daylight, Rune Factory, Unravel Two, Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 just didn't get me all that excited. And I'm not sure what to make of Tetris 99, Fire Emblem, or Zelda: Link's Awakening at the moment, despite the fact the latter two were probably supposed to be big announcements (Link's Awakening in particular I think was supposed to be their 'one final thing' reveal, but, to me at least, it just looked like a 3DS remake ala Link Between Worlds ported over to the Switch).
So far I've been playing through Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and the Sega Mega Drive Classics on Switch, along with some Overwatch on PC. Will prob continue to play those tomorrow, along with maybe some Hyrule Warriors: DE, and/or Bayonetta 1/2.
Given the astronomical sales figures for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, and Spider-Man, I can only guess that Sony has a much larger presence outside Japan then within it, which is strange, as I always assumed only Microsoft had troubles in Japan, but I guess I was mistaken (either that, or the games in question are simply not interesting to Japanese audiences in general). I'm also a bit surprised to see Octopath isn't on the list, but I guess it just didn't do all that well there.
Still, a good showing by Nintendo, despite it's 2018 lineup not quite hitting it out of the park as much as it's 2017 one.
@Rhaoulos Well, with Free-to-Play games I can understand not requiring the Online Service, but given that some games require online for functions outside Multiplayer (Revelations 1&2 for example require it to connect to ResiEvil.net) it does seem a bit weird, though not at all unwelcome, that Dragon's Dogma is exempt.

Re: Uncensored Version Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Becomes Best-Selling Wii U Game On Amazon Japan
Like others have pointed out, making the top Wii U title in 2019 isn't that great a feat, especially if the bulk of the orders are protest orders from Westerners. But I guess the point is to keep the comment wars going, so * shrugs* I guess it's good enough for that.
Re: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Publisher Has More Announcements On The Way
The Rogue Squadron Trilogy would be the titles I'd be most interested in seeing on Switch. Throw in Episode 1: Racer, Shadows of the Empire, and maybe Jedi Starfighter and I'd be set.
Re: Mario Kart Tour's Second New York Tour Adds New Cups, Challenges And More
@HappyMaskedGuy - "Why not ask where the greatly needed updates and new DLC are for MK8? We PAID for that game. We deserve to be treated as priority. New cups? New characters? An updated multiplayer system?"
Err....what?
Re: Switch Is Getting An Officially-Licensed Mario Kart Racing Wheel
@KingBowser86 - Was actually wondering why people still like MK64, so thanks for that.
Re: Dataminers Uncover Evidence Of Unreleased Super Mario Party DLC
Re: Dataminers Uncover Evidence Of Unreleased Super Mario Party DLC
@Silly_G - Except DLC is usually not only cheaper than a sequel, but also adds on to the previous game rather than replaces it. Why take this extra content and release it as a 'sequel' when you can just add it to the previous game and not only keep the original content, but also get the newer stuff cheaper?
Also, I should point out that a lot of DLC (especially for Nintendo games) are no where near as bad as you make them seem. In a lot of cases, the games ARE complete, the DLC's just function as optional additional content for those who want more of the same.
Re: Dataminers Uncover Evidence Of Unreleased Super Mario Party DLC
@Silly_G - So you'd rather said DLC be separated from the main game entirely, and sold as a 'new entry' instead?
Re: Sorry, But There's No Hidden Workaround To Connect Your Switch Lite To A TV
@Mountain_Man - Only if it were a replacement, which it isn't. It's just there to provide more options, particularly to those who only want a gameboy-esque handheld device and would much prefer a Switch Lite to a Switch.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #9 - The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Not a fan of the Japan box artwork myself, so I went with the NA artwork as it's background seems to fit better than the black one in the EU cover.
Re: Koei Tecmo Spills The Beans On Fairy Tail, A JRPG Based On The Manga And Anime
Never really clicked with Fairy Tail, but it had its moments, so it's kinda nice seeing it get what looks like a quality adaptation.
Now, if only Bleach can get similar treatment....
Re: Feature: Best GameCube Games
Another reminder that I really ought to play Paper Mario: TYD and Eternal Darkness at some point. Unfortunately, unless Nintendo start re-releasing their gamecube library and/or whoever owns the rights to Eternal Darkness release a remaster/port of the latter, I'll probably never get the chance.
On another note, is Skies of Arcadia really that good?
Re: Poll: Vote For Your Favourite GameCube Games
Looking at the results, mine seem to be Metroid Prime/2, F-Zero GX, Zelda: Wind Waker, and Resident Evil, which sounds about right. Might add Eternal Darkness and Paper Mario: TTYD to that list if I ever get to play them.
@Woomy_NNYes - Pretty sure they're all sequels; Mario Party games had a tendency to be released yearly, which is how the N64 got 3 games and the Gamecube 4. It wasn't until after Mario Party 8 that Nintendo decided to slow the rate of releases.
Re: An Overwatch Switch Carry Case Exists, No Prizes For Guessing What Comes Next
@RedderRugfish - Unlikely; that would require creating a single-player component for Overwatch, something Blizzard doesn't seem interested in doing atm.
Re: Poll: Have You Ever Had Problems With Nintendo Hardware?
So far I think the worst I've experienced is the L button on my DS Lite not quite working properly (in sharp contrast, my Xbox 360 got the RRoD twice and was basically unplayable after a while); outside that, all the Nintendo consoles/handhelds I've had have worked fine.
Re: Review: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil - A Painfully Incomplete Version Of An N64 Classic
Re: The Dinosaur Hunter Returns To Switch Next Month In Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil
As someone who hasn't played either this or the original Turok, would this game make the original redundant, or is it totally fine to get both?
Re: Nintendo Intends To Create The Next Generation Of Controllers
@Haywired - There are quite a few reasons for why the Wii U was a commercial disaster, but I don't think the gamepad was one of them (unless it was a point about how underutilised it was, but it probably wasn't in this case).
On the topic, personally, I've yet to be that disappointed with a piece of Nintendo hardware (though I've yet to try Labo, so that may change) so I can't say I'm fussed with these comments from Miyamoto. If it leads to something interesting, then why not? It's not like they won't release a more traditional controller alongside it anyway, so it's not like anyone loses out.
Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Sails Onto Nintendo Switch Next Year
@Heavyarms55 - To be fair, from what I understand, One Piece is better as a manga than as an anime, so maybe you'll have better luck there?
Re: Video: Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution Gets Gorgeous New Movie Trailer
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
@kenyowa - Isn't this comment a direct response to fan complaints? Fans expressed their viewpoint on the decision to not have all pokemon in Sword/Shield and Masuda responded with a direct explanation why their decision was made. What else do you expect them to do?
Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC
Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC
Re: Video: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Gets A Stunning HD Makeover In Unreal Engine 4
Re: Pokémon Sword & Shield Are Being Developed With A Focus On Switch's Handheld Mode
Re: NES And SNES Mini Are Still Big Sellers For Nintendo
@Rhaoulos - I dunno if they were that big. Sure Goldeneye was a bit hit, but it wasn't as if Nintendo didn't have their own titles that were as big or bigger.
Regarding more minis, I'd be fine with more, though I'd also like if they did something more akin to the VC or NES Online for the Switch, if only so I could play these old games without having to sit in front of a TV.
Re: Mario Tennis Aces Version 3.0 Adds New Opening Movie, Ring Shot Mode And More
@StuTwo - While not month-after-month, to be fair, in 2014 we got DKC: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U, along with indie games like Shovel Knight. I think that's what he means when he refers to the 'mid period of the Wii U'.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 6th)
As far as the Switch goes, mainly Yoshi's Crafted World, along with cleaning up what spirits I have left to get in Smash Ultimate.
Re: SNES Style RPG Chained Echoes Reaches Nintendo Switch Stretch Goal
Hearing SNES style RPG nowadays makes me feel a bit wary, but watching the trailer it doesn't look too bad (though the mechas seem a bit out of place) and the limited edition case looks nice. Be interesting to see how it turns out.
Re: Fans Start Petition For Capcom To Release Resident Evil 4 Physically On Switch
Re: Video: We Weren't Sure We Wanted A Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, Until We Got It
Personally, I think if the game went for an art style more like the animated intro, I would've loved it, but as it is, I'm probably gonna end up leaving this one and sticking with the original for the foreseeable future.
Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 13th February
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 26th)
Re: Nintendo Switch Exclusives Were Japan's Best-Selling Games In 2018
Given the astronomical sales figures for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, and Spider-Man, I can only guess that Sony has a much larger presence outside Japan then within it, which is strange, as I always assumed only Microsoft had troubles in Japan, but I guess I was mistaken (either that, or the games in question are simply not interesting to Japanese audiences in general). I'm also a bit surprised to see Octopath isn't on the list, but I guess it just didn't do all that well there.
Still, a good showing by Nintendo, despite it's 2018 lineup not quite hitting it out of the park as much as it's 2017 one.
Re: Dragon's Dogma On Switch Includes All DLC And Won't Need An Online Subscription, According To Amazon
