Re: Random: Here's Steam Deck Running The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin

@Eleventy8 Think that's a valid concern, but I still went for it as soon as pre orders went live. I figured:
1) It's a pc as you say, so can it be that bad even if valve ditch all support?
2) If it is that bad the early reviews will point that out and I can cancel.

More excited for this than I was for 3DS ,switch or vita tho. Have a gaming laptop but I just really like handhelds and there's tons of games on steam I've not played that I'd love to play curled up on the sofa or in 20 min bursts.

Re: Troy Baker Partners With NFT Firm, Asks If Fans Want To "Hate" Or "Create"

I don't think many people have read this properly. Actually sounds like an area where NFTs make sense if you ask me (assuming they can do it without a huge carbon footprint and arent going to sell thousands of "different" voices that are almost identical). Also you can take or leave this, it doesn't sound like NFTs creeping into your favourite games which definitely is something to shout about.

Re: The US Trader Who Bet $400 Million Against Nintendo Takes Huge Hit As Stock Price Soars

So many comments from people who have no idea what they are talking about here:

1) this isn't his money, it's the money of people who invested in his hedge fund, like pension schemes as he has said. They also don't directly lose from this, it's a small loss from 1 fund in a pension scheme portfolio. Pension funds are run extremely responsibly in general and holding funds like this which are "different" helps to diversify against the mostly more traditional assets

2) Short selling serves is important in the market, it helps keep stock prices to their true value and can highlight poor practice, short sellers were the first to spot the issues at Enron and Lehmans

3) He isn't deliberately manipulating the market, he isn't looking for any of this publicity around this - this has become news because Bloomberg have liked it up after looking at the filings he has to make because the position is now a certain size. He also likely hasn't made a loss and has probably been building this for months, it's only reached the threshold for disclosing in the last couple of days

4) Investors and banks are essential for the economy. Go read a basic economics book before writing everyone off as greedy

Re: Could Switch's Non-Compliant USB-C Spec Be To Blame For Third-Party Docks Bricking Consoles?

And those saying this isn't Nintendo's problem really are fanboys. Can't stand this, well only by Nintendo official attitude. If Nintendo had wanted to avoid this issue, they could clearly have adjusted the shape of the port to not be usb c, they didn't. While they may not have specifically marketed as USB c, they let reviewers etc say how great it was that it had that flexibility and now they're hiding behind the standard "only buy official stuff" line.
