@westman98 that’s fair, I wasn’t really speaking about their business practices when I said that tho, more their philosophy to game design according to their producers.

I was also referring mostly to their Mario Sports franchises which to the best of my knowledge never chart Splatoon numbers. I’m sure Splatoon 3 will be held to a much higher standard, as it’s a Nintendo staple, but I don’t blame anyone for being hesitant.

@Bolt_Strike I think it was in this thread, regardless tho, someone made an interesting point suggesting Nintendo may have asked TPC to hold back on news during July as not to over shadow Xenoblade Chronicles 3, while admittedly hearsay, I think it’s a reasonable hypothesis to a perplexing question.

I’m a fan myself, and an older one so I remember all the modern release cycles and it’s just crazy how little we know so far. I’m excited for Wednesday.

Pokémon is their own company, and putting out their own direct, Nintendo does own a large stake in Pokémon, but these tweets are off base. Not to mention that fanbase is being starved, just not the news cycle they’re used to in a brand new generation.

That said, I believe it’s very reasonable to be concerned about Splatoon 3, for a company that shelves series they think they cannot do justice for with new sequels, they sure release a lot of lackluster sequels lately.

I feel like 800,000 is pretty good for SMTV, surprised they are discounting digitally already. Must really want to light a fire with this game.

Truly thought Forces killed the chance of me getting excited for another Sonic game, but I’m looking forward to this with fingers crossed.

Truly my first big disappointment in the series, not that it was hard to spot pre purchase tho. It haunts me that I got twice as far in Let’s Go before setting it down.

@Broosh I’m not sure about gallery content off the top my head, but I wanna say no. However DMC3 has exclusive gameplay tweaks that make the switch version the ideal version imo. The ability to switch styles in game is huge.

Absolutely stoked Boxboy is finally discounted. May finally scratch that nostalgia itch for Aladdin and Lion King at that discount.

I don’t know what year this was obviously, but I’ve been gaming uninterrupted for 12 years with Nintendo, and I can’t think of a year that this didn’t feel like a missed opportunity.

I don’t care about the dex issue, if there is something to complain about it’s that the game focus is purely based on children with the sole exception being pvp. I want a hard mode way more than the national dex.

I had no idea Logic retired. That’s more surprising to me than this purchase.

Yesterday was my first day with the game and I spent at least five hours with it, completely enthralled. I clicked this review fully expecting, if not demanding to see a 10/10. They seem rare enough here on NL, and regardless I believe Hades truly deserves the score and praise.

It’s a great deal, I’m just concerned that those it’s best suited for won’t quite grasp the deal, or bundle as a whole. Most likely going to be utilized by late entry gamers that already know the want the pro controller when they pick up the Switch.

I still think people should leave him be and stop asking, but I completely sympathize with their doubt on the matter. Even just sharing some character art would be nice, these short reassurances aren’t doing him any favors at this point.

Nintendo can’t add a new game to franchises like F Zero, cause they don’t know how to differentiate it from the others, but they can release four versions of Star Fox. I suppose the take away there is story really doesn’t matter to the figure heads.

That interview was too harrowing, it’s hard to want to get behind those design principles. I am glad they seemed to make something enjoyable for others despite those parameters, but I’m still gonna pass.

I still think the monsters are lacking, but I’m excited to play the game all the same.

I couldn’t think of anything announced we might see other than SMTV, so technically my expectations were met. I expected an almost bizarre array of games, and one big thing that may actually be borderline niche, would be announced. Nocturne was a great surprise for me, so while this was underwhelming, I’m satisfied. Not sure that’s a positive or not, the embrace of low expectations.

It’s amusing how wrong rumors were, but they still managed to get the date right. I feel for the non RPG fans, without Atlus this was lackluster.

I miss lore, and this series seems to too be taking it up a notch. I’ll probably give it a go if the price is right, I’m interested in playing a retro inspired Pokémon game.

So just imagine Nintendo didn’t try and push this game as a sub-genre experiment, trying to find its new unique identity, and just stuck with its RPG routes. Sounds like it would be close to a 10, according to this review. I just don’t get their forced Paper Mario identity crisis.

I’m convinced the original two games, despite being beloved, sold horribly. Which is the only reasoning I can see to so boldly take the series further into increasingly casual affairs. Aesthetically the game and series as a whole are great, but I think that’s the sum of my interests with it these days.

What a hack, I never understand the need to tie a built world into ours, and bloat everything with stupid explanations about that, rather than just building off the source material.

They aren’t gonna step on the expansion passes toes by announcing main series remakes before the Crown Tundra releases. Closest to an RPG this will likely be is a Lets Go Johto, or much less likely, a spiritual continuation of those Colleseum style games.
