There have been a lot of video game delays this year, and the latest company to announce it has experienced some setbacks due to the global pandemic is Studio MDHR. In a letter on social media, the founders Chad and Jared Moldenhauer told fans they would just have to wait until 2021 to experience 'The Delicious Last Course' DLC for Cuphead.

In "true Studio MDHR fashion" the team isn't content with anything but its best work and obviously meeting these high standards this year has been "extremely challenging" given the current circumstances. Rather than compromise its vision and get the extra content out this year, the studio has made the "difficult decision" to push back the release.

"We know many of you have been waiting to return to Inkwell Isles, and our goal is to make the trip back there next year a truly magical one."

While the DLC is a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman's grand adventure, it's also described as a conclusion and that's why the studio wants this final chapter to be the best it can possibly be.

Back in July, Studio MDHR's Maja Moldenhauer admitted the team "probably" announced the DLC a bit too soon:

"it's taking us a little longer than we thought, but we want to make it a memorable experience. And to be honest, and I think that we ultimately probably announced it a little bit too early based on when we actually put pencil to paper - but at the end of the day, we want it to be a fulfilling experience and live upto Cuphead and it will come out when it's ready."
