I’ll try to spend some time in my three main games right now. I’m near the end of Legends ZA, and I’m also playing Pokopia too, currently in the second area of the game. Lastly, I’ve beat a run with all five characters in Slay the Spire 2, but still more cards and artifacts to unlock, even after 25 hours in just one week. Happy gaming!
A good book that covers more of this is Play Nice, by Jason Schrier. Covers the history of Blizzard, including their recent struggles post merger with Activision. Kaplan confirms in this interview a broader trend at Blizzard: that profit and greed pushed out a lot of talented people who made the company what it was.
It’s a big gaming weekend for me! I ended up caving and buying Pokopia. It has been very charming so far. I also bought Slay the Spire 2, which is an absolute blast and such a great follow up to the original. Lastly, I ended up playing some Arc Raiders, which I haven’t played in a few months but is as fun as ever. I also still have my Legends ZA playthrough to continue, so I will try to get back to that at least a little for the sake of keeping up momentum. Happy gaming all!
I’ll be very curious how they are going to make the PC experience user friendly for a mass audience. The FSE on handheld has been a good step forward but it’s still very clunky compared to a proper OS or even Steam BPM. I don’t wish bad toward Xbox but I can’t see them making a successful recovery on the hardware front.
I finished MHS2 last year, which I liked but wouldn’t say loved. I do think the art style looks much improved for this third game, so maybe I will check this out one day, albeit on the inevitable sale that Capcom always runs on all their games.
Another weekend, another visit to Lumoise City! Still working through the main story, probably about halfway through while doing lots of side quests and wild zones along the way. That will probably be my main focus, but if I need some variety, I might do some of the skill challenges in Mario Tennis Fever. Lastly, getting excited for Slay the Spire 2 coming out next week! Hope everyone has a happy gaming weekend, especially everyone playing the new RE!
I really like the look of this one! Only problem is I am currently playing Legends ZA plus Slay the Spire 2 hits EA next week so my schedule is pretty booked. Still might have to find a way to squeeze this one in though!
More of the same for me! Meaning I’ll keep chipping away at wild zones and quests in Legends ZA, which I’m having fun with but also going slowly through. I’ll also probably do some ranked matches in Fever, and maybe a post game mission or two in Age of Imprisonment. Happy gaming all!
Happy to see one of the Xenoblade games finally get the Switch 2 treatment. Does make me wonder when we actually our next first party Direct though, you’d think they would save this if they had a bigger presentation coming soon.
This is a pretty fun game! I’m absolutely terrible at the ranked solo play but it’s still an enjoyable way to mix things up. I don’t have friends to play this with but if you did there would be a ton of options for local multiplayer. Wish it had even more single player content but it’s still a good time!
@Divide_and_Wander my backlog is also huge. At this point I just try to make sure I finish new games soon after buying them. The backlog will never be finished but I try to knock a few off the list between more recent games.
It will be a mix of adventure mode in Mario Tennis Fever and the early game of Pokemon Legends ZA for me. Also have a new pro controller coming in the mail today so I’m excited to finally try out and compare it to my OG pro controller. Lastly, will probably play some Little Nightmares 3 in co op (mainly so we can hurry through to play Reanimal, which looks better, lol). Happy gaming!
Cool to see the first new set of colors come out, but I’d probably pick up a new pro controller first. My OG from the Switch launch is starting to show its age, I might finally pick a new one up.
I downloaded Mario Fever this morning! Bought a digital copy since it’s the type of multiplayer game I think I’d like to come back to off and on rather than finish and trade. Just played five matches or so, but I’m liking it! I tried a demo at my local Target that convinced me to pick it up
Really happy to hear that the devs cooked with this spiritual successor to the LN franchise, especially after the latest entry by the new team was somewhat mid. I will definitely be getting this eventually.
The trailer described adventure mode as a way to learn the game, so I sadly figured it was an extended tutorial. Nintendo probably shouldn’t have called it adventure since that’s not what you typically call a tutorial. I’m happy the gameplay itself is solid, and it of course looks great too. This will be a big maybe for me.
This one is on my wishlist for March, I like the idea quite a lot. Definitely need to see some reviews first though before dropping full price on day one.
I think this would look really cool on my shelf, but the price is too much for something i think I’d only use once or twice, plus needing to subscribe to the expansion pass too. Hope others enjoy it though!
Sadly, I don’t think this upgrade pack is for me, since I don’t do all that much local multiplayer. I’d have to buy the game again too, so I just can’t justify it. Maybe one day but for now I’ll focus on my other Switch games!
Another weekend of Age of Imprisonment for me! Just hit the start of Chapter 5, about 20 hours of playtime so far doing all the side missions as I go. It’s definitely my favorite of the series, the performance is excellent. Also doing my daily ACNH sessions too as I build up my new island after starting over with the last update. If AoI gets repetitive, I might play some Arc Raiders, which I haven’t touched for a few weeks while focusing on Metroid 4 and then AoI. Happy gaming all!
At the bottom of the graphic, I assume those games will at least still run on 2, maybe just not optimized for the 2? Regardless, looking good for the first part of the year!
I played MHS2 late last year, so I was curious how 3 would look by comparison. I thought the gameplay from the trailer looked much better, but I’m also quite curious if they’ve evolved the world design at all too. The last game had very flat textures (even on PC) and the dungeons were all procedurally generated hallways for the most part. It was still an okay game but I’m excited that 3 is maybe a progression of the series just like 2 improved over the OG.
Gives me even more appreciation for that Cyberpunk port! I don’t think we’re honestly missing much not getting this, it seems like a weaker entry in the franchise and the Switch has been getting great games to fill its spot.
Happy to see this one seems to have more content than recent Mario sports titles at launch. It will probably have to get stellar reviews for me to buy on day one, but I’m hoping it’s a great entry in the franchise.
I expect the Switch 2 will get a price increase at some point in the next year. RAM prices are just too high and Nintendo seems to have a margin in mind that they probably don’t want to compromise. It’s a tough time for gaming hardware.
Surprised to see that MP Jamboree is still making the top 15. I liked the game a lot, maybe the Switch 2 update has helped with another boost for sales
I bought it on sale over the holidays. Thought it was fun enough but definitely like Worlds quite a lot more. Not sure what Sega expected sales wise, seems like they have the same problem as Square these days with unrealistic sales goals.
One of the few Nintendo products I haven’t bought over the years. I remember feeling very tempted on release day but it just didn’t seem for me. Only ever seen one out in the wild once since then, and it was mostly just the sheets where cardboard had already been popped out.

Re: Capcom Wants To Know Your Thoughts About Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
I will pick this up eventually, but it’s been too soon since I just played MhS2 last November. I’m glad to see it’s well reviewed though!

This is good news in my opinion. Embrace the new hardware and make the game as good as it can be without being held back by the old hardware.

I might go Leaf Green since I had Red back in the day as a kid.

Link to the Past on the SNES, although Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda I actually made some real progress through. Amazing franchise!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Tennis Fever?
Solid 8/10 for me. Very fun game play, but would have loved even more modes, either single player or more variety for online.
