150 plus hours, never even tried the open world, I just love the new mechanics and racing online.
Mario Kart World is a superb game that will stand the test of time.
I love researching alternative pathways that utilise rail grinding and wall riding, and then trying to beat my best times in time trials, and putting my skills to the test online.
30 hours in and only just scratching the surface on how to master the tracks.
The handling feels fantastic and despite the controversy over lack of 3 lap options online, the game is phenomenal and will surely see massive success over the years. ❤️ 😍
This looks amazing but just to clarify... Best Sports game on Switch: Rocket League Best Sports game ever made: Rocket League
Obviously IMO and I'm willing to concede that Rocket League is a little awkward until you've put in a few hundred hours... so yeah Mario Strikers does look more accessible.
One of my favourite games on Xbox Series S despite occasional performance issues. TBH I feel the developers should be fixing these issues before working on a port on a less powerful system. But you know, I guess there's plenty of money to be made even with a shaky port to the less powerful Switch.
This looks like it is coming to Xbox but it hasn't been officially announced and who knows last minute obstacles could possibly yet again prevent its release... I think this article is a little misleading when in claims the game is more or less confirmed for Xbox. Just don't want to get my hopes up till it's official.
Have these grips for regular Switch and Switch Lite. The grips for the switch lite are superb and more comfy than the normal Switch. Highly recommended 👌
Ergonomically this looks fantastic until you take into account it weighs nearly twice as much as a switch… Will save my dough for a Xbox series X and keep enjoying Nintendo exclusives for my Switch hand held gaming.
High School 1998 after school at mine with a few mates: big glass of Milo (8 heaped table spoons with a dash of milk) followed by endless games of 007 Golden Eye multiplayer followed by some Mario Kart 64 mayhem.
I prefer my switch lite for handheld gaming so a switch XL ain’t no use to me. If I had any extra dough to throw at hardware it would be for the Xbox series X.
Keen to try this tonight on Switch and Xbox game pass. I feel I’ll probably enjoy for a few hours before going back to Rocket League but I hope I’m wrong and it hooks me for longer. Gameplay reminds me a little of Arms.
Then: Donkey Kong Country Golden Eye 007 Super Mario Odyssey Immortal Redneck Splatoon/Splatoon 2
Also: Kaze and the Wild Masks, CarX Drift Racing, DKC2, Yooka Layla and the Impossible Lair, Yoshis Woolly World, Yoshis Crafted World, CTR nitro fueled, Arms, The Touryst, Hot Shot Racing, BoTW, 51 World Wide Games, GRID 2019, Super Hot, Asphalt 9, Duke Nukem, GRIS, Gunman Clive, Lonely Mountain Downhill, Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Mario Kart 64, Trackmania Turbo
Metroidvania - the term helps me distinguish between linear platformers like Kaze and the Wild Masks and platformers like Ori and the Blind Forest that involve more exploration, powerups and backtracking. The first type of game I enjoy a lot more than the other.
The term Metroidvania is useful but not perfect in that it carries too much atmospheric connotations to games like Metroid and Castlevania.
I hope it has the gameplay feel of the SNES DKC trilogy rather than the gameplay of Tropical Freeze. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed tropical freeze but mechanically it feels more clunky than games like Yooka-layee & the Impossible Lair and Kaze and the Wild Masks both of which are the spiritual successors to the original trilogy.
Kaze and the Wild Masks. Not as atmospheric as the SNES Donkey Kong Country games but the gameplay and level designs are even better. The Mask mechanics are especially good. You die a lot but once you’ve worked out the pattern and obstacles of a level the feeling of speeding through that mastered level is magical.
I really feel strongly that the next Mario Kart will be released with the next gen console and there will be no more DLC for MK8D at this stage as Nintendo want fans to save their hype for the next full entry. So enjoy MK8D for a few more years!
I love pizza but looking (way...) back to 10 year old me in 1993 there is no way I would choose pizza over a switch.... 10 year old me is flabbergasted at this kid maybe the kid has other tech like iPads etc. I don’t know?
Still play. Have spent only 5 bucks on items in 2+ years. Still reckon players who bought the game before it went free should be gifted a special legacy goal explosion.
Looks like a fun platformer with simple mechanics for young new comers... has nice graphics and solid performance... not for me but I reckon it looks 7/10 ish
As a kid I finished Super Mario Land (GB) and Super Mario World (SNES). I own New Super Mario Bros U but never got around to finishing it partly as save points weren’t after each level.... does the switch port save progress after each level?

Re: Of Course Mario Kart World Is Being Review Bombed
@Alpha008 A LOT less likely
Re: Of Course Mario Kart World Is Being Review Bombed
@KoopaTheGamer I originally thought it didn't change much either... but last night random gave me intermission tracks 3/4 times...
I personally don't mind intermission tracks but I think every second round, circuit tracks should be an option in Vs Online.
Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update
The update has not actually reduced the chance of getting a 3 lap race very much.
Selecting Random online now only includes the possibility of the three intermission tracks offered for that round, not all the intermission tracks.
So, if everyone selects Random, 95% chance it will still be a 3 lap race.
Still, the update does feel like a slap in the face to those who love 3 lap racing online.
Re: Review: Animal Well (Switch) - An Exceptional Metroidvania That Stands Out From The Pack
I'm not a huge fan of Metroidvanias but I really enjoyed GRIS so I think I'll give this a try.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Weighs In On Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Texture Complaints
These new DLC are an abomination on an amazing game. Better off without them.
Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 2 - Harmless Fun, But More "B-Side Filler"
Will Nintendo ever develop tracks again as good as my 4 favourites? CHEESE LAND RIBBON RACEWAY MUTE CITY BIG BLUE?!! 😋
Re: Review: Mario Strikers: Battle League - Simply The Best Sports Game On Switch
@tyranny_life I play Rocket league on Xbox but I used to play a lot on Switch and never had an issue with lag or frame rate...

Re: Check Out The First Gameplay Footage For Wreckfest On Switch
One of my favourites on Xbox series S but does suffer from occasional frame drops... I'd be very sceptical about performance on switch version.

Re: Random: Of Course Someone Has Already Smashed Their TV Playing Switch Sports
It seems a fair punishment for still having his Christmas tree up.
Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 - A 'Safe' Start To The 48-Track DLC Pack
A little bland perhaps but im still very grateful for more tracks.
Choco Mountain my pick so far.

Just like BoW this will be Cross Gen. The launch title for Switch 2 and the Swan Song of the current Switch. 2023.
Re: Nintendo's Switch OLED Model Makes Its First Public Appearance In Japan
It's a nice screen but I'll stick to my Switch lite with skull and co grips for seriously comfy gaming.

@Gamer-Jay Sweet! I'd given up checking will go and boot it up now!

Got it digital. Downloaded. Still not able to play in Aus at 130pm. Must have to wait for Pacific Time to catch up. Looking forward to it!
