Racing onto the Nintendo Switch eShop next week is #DRIVE, an endless driver game inspired by road and action movies from the '70s and '80s.
The game has you selecting a car and place before simply hitting the road – just "try not to hit anything else," the press release says. Each stage you play on will offer new challenges, and completing these will unlock new cars to try out. As time goes on, you'll also collect power-ups that let you ram everything in front of you or remove all traffic from the road.
Game features:
- Gorgeous stylized graphics
- Super fun photo mode to share your journeys
- 8 beautiful locations to see and explore
- 90+ unique cars to drive
- Each car with a special coolness addon
- Fun and addictive driving mechanics
We're really liking the art style on display here. Check out these screenshots:
The game releases on the eShop on 16th February for $12.99, although a 10% discount will be live at launch.

Hm... I'll keep an eye on this.
@tatanga
Yeah. This looks interesting as I have enjoyed Horizon Turbo but I'd need to see what it plays like.
What's an 'endless driver game'? Outrun type thing? If that's the case not sure I'd enjoy it.
So...
Drive = Cars in the 80's.
I heard the vibe of Laura Branigan's song from the trailer. (Self Control)
Wow $12.99 for a game I can get for free on my phone 😂
@dancool are you mocking Nintendo’s third party support?
Is that fog & draw distance distracting? https://youtu.be/fhrIH6gir04 Looks fun otherwise. Art style looks inviting.
I played this in my mobile and is good game; really a good game for Switch ^^
@dancool Its free on the phone because they harvest your data & location, and probably other things I'd rather not share, and then they sell it. If I had an option to buy and keep my privacy, I'd buy, if the price is ok.
@Yanina fantastic icon...and tool. No idea this was a thing.
@sixrings as a Nintendo switch owner this isn't really the kind of third party support I am after. Sadly it's probably the future though as I can't see many true ps5 games running on the switch
I can't see it on the Play Store or I'd give it a go to see what it's like.
@WoomyNNYes and here was me thinking it was free because of all the ads they have crammed in it! Fair enough but is $12.99 a fair price? It is just a swipe side to side game on rails
Every day is a foggy day.
I would be interested but I need to know how this game actually plays.
I loved the visuals in this game on mobile but didn't play for very long. I'm interested to see how it plays with a controller.
@dancool I agree. Wrc 9 disappeared. F1 never came. And I’m left waiting for potential circuit superstars and art of rally ports. It’s sad. But hey we get 10/10 wii u ports.
@dancool
It can't run last gen games very well. Why would anyone think it would get any new IP that is only xb/ps?
The Switch will be sold on smaller indie games and N's stuff until they figure out the successor and that's not looking too rosy. Knowing Nintendo the Switch 2 will be just more color combinations or some other Nintendo nonsense.
And now reading about this being a 'endless runner'. Nope. Hard skip for me.
@WoomyNNYes They should have tilted the camera angle a little more to avoid to put that much fog. Still an interesting release to keep our eyes on
Maybe more than 10 seconds of game footage, please?
If it looked exactly like it does in the trailer, the bit that's behind the car--gorgeous--I would be sold. What it actually looks like though--nah.
I like the screenshots, the trailer is disappointing
Great game on Android, but for Switch the price is too high....
Looks cool but the the trailer was not the best.
Really need to sort that trailer if you want to sell copies of your game!
Gorgeous? Nah, FAR from it, actually. Forza Horizon 4, now THAT is gorgeous. Unfortunately, that's WAY out of reach for the Switch.
It lets you drive a DeLorean, sign me up! I spent so long unlocking that in Horizon Chase Turbo Will hope it runs as well and maybe isn't as foggy as the gameplay video posted above
@ryancraddock Do the studios behind it have a good track record?
@Lionyone The developer's site only has #Drive and 2 ski jump games. Not much to judge by. Here's their games page https://www.pixelperfectdude.com/games
Depends on the drifting... Hotshot Racing has superb drifting... whereas the handling of Horizon Chase Turbo does nothing for me
This looks great!
Nintendo already did the song and dance of making their system as powerful as the competitors and what happened? despite great games, the system did not sell well as the other competitors. So nintendo said forget that and we are not going to compete and they did their own thing and was majority successful.
😒 Uh no. It looks like it has no depth and would get old fast.
I played a game similar from the App Store a while back in fact it has the same name #drive. I thought it was entertaining.
The article doesn't mention this is a mobile port... I'm still curious, but a bit less so now.
