Re: Video: Banjo's Smash Reveal Made For Some Crazy Scenes At Nintendo NYC

DoctorWily

Now that we've got The Hero and Banjo/Kazooie, any speculation on who the final two fighters will be? Personally, I'm of the mindset that Smash is a sort of Hall of Fame of gaming so I'd like to see some historically significant characters fill those last two spots. The one I'd really like to see added is Ryu Hyabusa from Ninja Gaiden. Others I'd like to see considered, (in no particular order), would be Master Chief, Conker, Earthworm Jim, the Battletoads, Steve, Doom Guy, Sora, the Contra guys, Skull Kid, and Toon Ganondorf, (complete with dual swords). Who am I missing/who else is worthy?

Re: Reminder: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker's Special Episode DLC Launches Today

DoctorWily

@kepsux I agree with you. No, Nintendo isn't obligated to do anything but taking care of your most loyal fans is just good business and something that Nintendo is usually good at. Stating that someone who wants the DLC to come to the original version is entitled is just b.s. With so many good games coming out and competing for my dollar, I'm not spending money to buy the same game again when I still have my WiiU hooked up and can just power it on. I'm hoping this is a Twilight Princess situation and that Nintendo rolls out this DLC to the WiiU at a later date and then I will also be getting it at that time.

Re: Simon And Richter Belmont Confirmed As Playable Characters In Smash Bros. Ultimate

DoctorWily

Finally! After years of complaining that half of the Metroid-vania genre was missing from Smash, and after voting for Simon in the Wii U poll a few years back, a huge gap in the Smash roster has been filled! This news made me so happy! I'm not sure there's a character left out there that I feel NEEDS to be in Smash now. Wart/Birdo, Waluigi, Crash/Banjo... maybe Ryu from Ninja Gaiden actually. They would be nice additions, but for some reason now I feel complete. Thanks Nintendo!

@MeloMan I share a lot of your sentiments! Now we just need some more whip-action diversity by including.... Earthworm Jim!

Re: Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Switch)

Anybody else feel like they should add the new stages to the Wii U version as free DLC? I love the game but I'm definitely not buying it again. I just hate when they do this kind of thing where we don't get the full experience without paying a second time.... not worth it for 4 stages.

Re: Studio Behind Netflix's Castlevania Opens Up On Story Changes And The Meaning Of Anime

DoctorWily

Webster's definition of anime: "a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes".

The STYLE originated in Japan. That doesn't mean a specific piece of work has to originate in Japan to be anime. Anyone who says this isn't anime because it wasn't made in Japan just sounds like a snob to me.

Re: Review: Vaccine (Switch eShop)

DoctorWily

I just can't get past the title or the "Despite all your best efforts, your friend got infected again" line. I don't expect all of my video game developers to be doctors but if I was going to name my game after something, like a vaccine, I would make sure I knew what that something was. Vaccines are not a cure, they are preventative. You give someone a vaccine so that when they encounter a virus, they are immune to it. Giving your friend a vaccine after he's infected will do nothing for him. Had you given it to him beforehand, he wouldn't have gotten infected the first time, let alone "again". A better name for the game would be Antidote or IVIG. Sorry for the rant. I just feel like this is the equivalent of releasing a Pokemon game and calling it Skylanders. I'll get over it, simply by just forgetting that this game even exists.

Re: Troll And I Stomps Onto Switch Next Month With A $30 Price Tag

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Oh I've definitely heard of them. It's just not a site that I visit. NL and IGN are enough for me, especially since most of these sites report a lot of the same information. I was just saying that I'm not familiar with the author of that review at all, so at a glance, it looked very unprofessional. But I don't have any context for his style so it could be that that review is just a reflection of how bad the game really is or that he has the vocabulary of a teenager. I'm not sure. Either way, it was pretty funny to read.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'm not very familiar with Destructoid or their style of reviews, but I went to your link and read it anyways. I must say, it made me laugh! I'm just not sure how professional, or useful, it was. I get it, he thinks the game is sh*t. But even though he did give some examples, I felt like his review was missing a lot of details that would've helped to inform the reader.
