This is a bit a ironic as most of the people that now call themselves journalists are just giving hot takes, and not doing real, boots-on the-ground journalism. Nothing wrong with doing hot takes, but that's not the same thing as journalism.
I lost it as as soon as I saw the name Andrew K. All I can see is Andrew W.K. with a lab coat and clip board banging his head while he's cheering on whoever he's observing.
Mechanical buttons would be amazing if that's truly what it is, for the same reasons that membrane keyboards gross me out. And the best d-pad was on the Xbox type-s controller. Proper triggers would be nice, and just fix the drift. Also something just a little bigger would be nice. Not the size of the Xbox Duke, but a little bigger than it currently is.
I never felt that any of the puzzles in Brothers were difficult. I found that aspect to be rather underwhelming. It felt like I spent the entire game waiting for the tutorial to end. But the burial scene was truly unsettling in a way that no other game has ever been before.
Reasonably well-rounded, but nothing that hot me really excited. I think the Indie World when they surprise dropped Axiom Verge 2 was the last time I was really excited watching a Direct.
They have the perfect console. Just give me the same thing with more power under the hood, and let me transfer my library to the new console. If they do that, I'll be happy and they can have my money.
I don't remember what it was called, but I had the one for the original Gameboy. It was only five levels, but on a four hour car ride, with only two games, it got the job done. Assuming there was enough batteries.
They're likely to make the same mistakes as Duke Nukem Forever and take it too seriously. He needs too be an old, haggard Duke in a movie that makes fun of him and the tropes of yesteryear. Past his prime as an action hero in a world that past him by but with a possibly comedic redemtion arc. I think Josh Brolin could pull it off.
Genres can be useful for discussion. And I've heard this argument against things like Metroidvania before, but people who have never heard of things like this before, aren't likely to be having the discussion. It can also be helpful to people who have a limited budget know what they're getting into when choosing what game to buy with limited funds. The worst is Action-Adventure. It has become truly useless. Uncharted is way different than something like Psychonauts, but both could wear the genre title. The problem comes when people get super snobby about they're genre titles.
The same problem happens with music. Even genre terms breaking down into subgrnres makes sense, because power metal is wildly different from folk metal or thrash metal. But when someone says Post-hardcore-prog-math metal, this is useless and tends to discourage people and to turn them away from discovery.
Seriously though, E3 had been kind of a joke for a few years. I do however, miss cramming all my gaming news attention into one week. It was a fun week.
The Switch PC combo is what I've been running for years. There's rarely an exclusive for Microsoft or Sony that grabs my attention. So between the two, I have access to almost everything I could want to play. Maybe once they come out with proper dock I'll give it a whirl, as the tv/portable aspect is one of my favorite things about the Switch.
I'm all for this kind of stuff IF I can transport games to whatever the Switch successor turns out to be. If I could do that, I'd by nore consoles in general.
If even the Nintendo fans that are avid enough users to be posting on websites aren't into it, that does cast a little doubt. But that doesn't count thr people who's parents are paying for it. I don't know a single person that has the expansion, but that is a very small sample size. Lol
I'm as excited as anyone else about Silksong, but at this point I want it to come out just so people will stop being so upset at every indie game that has the audacity to be revelaed before Silksong comes out. Not a lot that grabs my attention personally, but there's some real undeserved hate here. Just a handful of announcements. I really don't get it. Gunbrella and Elechead look pretty neat.
But even without Silksong, Indie World is always my favorite Nintendo thing to watch. Aside from something like BOTW2, I rarely get excited about AAA titles anymore.
Drastic art style changes are always risky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Look at the Link's Awakening remake. That was a big risk, but it looked great. I think this one is fine. It's kind of Schaffer meets Steamworld. I dig it
I was honestly not as crazy about Celeste's story as most. It was good, but not mindblowing. That said, its still an amazing game with some of the best platforming I've ever seen.
I was never an early game adopter. For years after the Xbox 360 I just stuck to my PC. But a year or two after the switch came out a friend picked one up and I saw what all they hype was about and finally got one. First console purchase in years. So I guess kind of the reverse. I regret NOT getting a Switch on day one.
Always wanted to play Xenogears. On happy in general to see another of the era of JRPG being made playable. I missed a lot of them when I was a kid, and I'm unlikely to go and pay the crazy outrageous price for physical copies.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Puzzle Games
What about Money Puzzle Exchanger? I wish the port had an online mode, but still. It one of the best arcade puzzlers.

Re: Nintendo Is Adding Pokémon Puzzle League To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
I enjoy puzzle games, but this looks like it's just Tetris Attack without the sweet bass lines. Not enough to get me to buy the expansion pack.
Re: 'Blade Assault' Is A Desolate Cyberpunk Roguelite That Slashes With Style
I dig the art style, and it looks fun, but so many roguelites. Its got a maybe from me.
Re: Talking Point: So, What Did You Think Of Nintendo's June Mini-Direct?
Reasonably well-rounded, but nothing that hot me really excited. I think the Indie World when they surprise dropped Axiom Verge 2 was the last time I was really excited watching a Direct.
Re: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Features Over 90 Titles, Including Jaguar And Lynx Games
And we still can't get Paperboy on Switch.

Re: Despot's Game Is A Chaotic Auto-Battler Featuring Stale, Salty Pretzels
So hype! I remember seeing something about this some time ago. Despotism 3k was awesome. Can't wait. Curious if it will be a direct sequel story wise.

Re: Feature: Need More Turtles After Shredder's Revenge? You Should Check Out These Underrated TMNT Gems
@Magrane
That's the one. It was really good for the hardware.

Re: Feature: Capcom Fighting Collection - Every Game, And Why You Should Be Excited
There's only three games I'd even play.
Gem Fighters
Puzzle Fighter
Darkstalkers
That being the case, I'd be in at about $20.
Re: Rhythm Puzzler 'Project Timi: Sasha's Curse' Casts Its Spell On Switch Next Year
Looks fun. The soundtrack is very A Hat In Time.
Re: Duke Nukem Is Getting A Movie From Legendary & The Creators Of 'Cobra Kai'

Re: 'Ground Divers' Is A Dig Dug-Like Mining Game Coming To Switch This Month
So taking the action out of Dig-Dug, but replacing it with RPG stuff? Interesting.
Re: Best Video Game Soundtrack Category Added To The Grammy Awards
It still won't save their dying ratings.
Re: Round Up: Every Switch Game Featured In The Summer Game Fest 2022 Opening Showcase
They may be saving a lot for a surprise Direct that turns out to be great. Who knows.
Re: Nintendo's 'Super Sale' Slashes The Price Of Over 1500 Games (Europe)
Anything Supergiant Games would be an automatic buy if I didn't already own all of them, and some on multiple platforms.
Also still holding hope to see if we get a June direct.
Re: Back Page: So, What Are We Calling This Not-E3 Conference, Anyway?
They like to announce Ditects last minute. And it would steal some thunder if they do. There's still hope
Re: Oops, It Looks Like Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium's Line-Up Has Leaked
I just want Super Puzzle Fighter. I don't want to buy this or the Street Fighter Collection to get it. But it seems that this is the way it must be.
Re: Geoff Keighley Urges Fans To 'Manage Expectations' For Summer Game Fest
That doesn't sound good. But there could still be some neat stuff.
Re: Video: 16 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In June 2022
Happy for all the people excited about these, but I think its going to be a backlog month for me, unless we get some surprise drops this month.

I don't think he's capable of rest. Some people are just wired to keep working.
Re: Random: Check Out This Mesmerising Mario & Luigi Domino Tribute
That's pretty rad. And slightly brightens my morning.
Re: Feature: What The Heck Is A 'MetroidBrainia'? Introducing The Newest Genre On The Block
Why not just call it a Mystery or Detective game?

Interesting in concept. And it looks pretty slick. Might be the first FPS ina while that I give it a shot.

Re: Fei Long Will Never Appear In Street Fighter Again, Says SFV Composer
I don't think the Lee family has legal ground to stand on, but fighting that battle would make Capcom look really bad to a lot of people.

This seems like the most likely of everyone's hopes.

Re: Video: What Legend Of Zelda Games Can We Expect To Fill The Gap In 2022?
