Re: Talking Point: What Classic Sega Franchises Do You Want To See Rebooted?

Debbiee

@Serpenterror All of the latest Wonder Boy games have been remakes though. Not new games. We haven't officially had a new Wonder Boy game since 1994 and had to wait 24 years to get an unofficial one.

I personally think Sega should have never stopped making Wonder Boy or Alex Kidd games and as somebody who grew up with a Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive them stopping making those games was one of the main reasons I moved to Nintendo consoles.

Re: Talking Point: What Classic Sega Franchises Do You Want To See Rebooted?

Debbiee

Wonder Boy by far followed by Alex Kidd, Dynamite Dux, Ecco the Dolphin and Tails spinoff games. There are a number of Sonic the Hedgehog characters such as Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Cream, Rouge, Espio, Vector, Charmy Bee, Blaze, I would love to see in spinoff games whether it is them alone or teaming up with each other like Nintendo have done with Mario characters such as Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, Captain Toad and Princess Peach who has a new game coming out next year.

Re: DOOM, DOOM II And Quake Just Got New Free Add-Ons, Rip And Tear Today

Debbiee

@Sisilly_G Oh wow. I didn't know that about Commander Keen but that is really sad and disappointing because I think with the right makers Commander Keen could be successful if they were to bring back the games now and I have talked to a lot of people who didn't discover the games until years later that love playing them. I was also wondering why we only got 'Keen Dreams' on the Nintendo eShop but not the rest of the series but what you wrote about it being under a different licensing arrangement explains it. I hope somebody is able to work out the licensing issues one day and bring the franchise back because there are a lot of people who love 2D Action and Adventure Platform games like that who I think would love it. With Huge I mean the latter with Hugo: House of Horrors, Hugo: Whodunit (where you play as Penelope) and Hugo: Jungle of Doom. I loved playing those games on PC growing up and I was disappointed they didn't make more and would love to see somebody make a new one. I heard 'Nightmare 3D' was a part of the 'Hugo' series but that game was nothing like the first three games and wore more of a first person shooter game like Doom and Wolfeinsten which I am not a big fan of.

I loved a lot of the classic PC and Dos games though like Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, Jill of the Jungle, Hocus Pocus, Paganitzu, Word Rescue, Math Rescue, Crystal Caves, Ladder Man, Back to the Forest, Save Our Pizzas, Trolls, Secret Agent, Skyroads, Kye, Jazz Jackrabbit and Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise to name a few and would love to see some of them make comebacks or get re-releases on video game consoles and I was happy when they added Supaplex to the Nintendo eShop.

Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

Debbiee

Do we need Grand Theft Auto 6 on Switch? Most people I know that enjoy ultra violent games like that aren't exactly lining up to play the latest Pokemon, Mario, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Pikmin‎, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Splatoon games.

Nintendo is mostly a console for kids and family friendly games. Leave the ultra violent games for the X Box and Playstation.

Re: Zelda Producer Responds To Fans Who Want A More "Traditional Linear" Adventure

Debbiee

@Ryu_Niiyama Hi.😀 You bring up a lot of good points about the games and I think another prequel game would be the best direction to go if they want to stay in this version of Hyrule longer because I don't think they can expand on it any further with another sequel unless they were to go a completely different route with a new villain showing up. If they were to make another open world game based on 'Age of Calamity' we would have so many new old areas to explore and they could open up some of the areas where we couldn't go in 'Breath of the Wild' and 'Tears of the Kingdom' like inside the Akkala Citadel fortress and the Forgotten Temple.

it would be fun to bring back Astor, the Prophet of Doom and Sooga because both of them were interesting additions and there was a lot left to explore with Astor's character and his background and I thought it was good having a secondary villain working for Ganon that could speak unlike the monsters. I also liked the Champions (Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa) and was one of the few that was hoping they went with the changed timeline from 'Age of Calamity' in 'Tears of the Kingdom' where they lived so we could have them back in the present day but I can understand why they didn't.

It would be good to have them back again for another prequel game though and I am not sure if they could pull it off either but to have them with the same kind of moves they had in 'Age of Calamity' would be a lot of fun like imagine being able to play as Revali and being able to fly around Hyrule with ease without needing anything and it would certainly make climbing up mountains a lot easier and as Mipha you could swim quickly through the water without a stamina wheel giving you a limited time and swim underwater too. All four of the champions would bring their own unique abilities and attacks to the game and playing as Zelda with her powers would be like playing as a superhero. Ohh and if a Gleeok shows up you take it out with a Divine Beast and obliterate it. lol

Re: Zelda Producer Responds To Fans Who Want A More "Traditional Linear" Adventure

Debbiee

@Ryu_Niiyama Sorry I don't know how to do quotes on this site but I wanted to address this comment.

The only thing I want is more robust cities (so a Zelda game starting before Ganon wrecks everything) and the evolution of the cities from BoTW to ToTK makes me think that is on their minds.

That is what I would like to see more of too. One of the things I really liked about 'Age of Calamity' was getting to go back in time and see what Hyrule looked like before Calamity Gannon destroyed things and it was more lively. I would be in favour of them doing a prequel game like 'Age of Calamity' in open world form because Hyrule looked so different during that time we would be getting a very different type of map that is full of life but at the same time we would be able to recognize the areas from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. That is also where they could make Zelda a playable character and the champions (Mipha, Revali, Urbosa and Daruk) and let us use the Divine Beasts. That would be a lot of fun in an open world setting imo.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Comments On The Possibility Of A Playable Zelda In The Future

Debbiee

@Snatcher All they need to do is copy the formula of the Hyrule Warriors games and make it that you can switch back and forth between Link and Zelda. You can easily have both of them as playable characters without having to sacrifice one for another. Princess Peach is a playable character along with Luigi, Toad and Yoshi in multiple Mario games so it not that hard.

An open world adaptation of Age of Calamity where you could play as Link, Zelda, Impa, Mipha, Revali, Daruk and Urbosa would be awesome

Re: Review: Batman: Arkham Trilogy (Switch) - Two Solid Ports, One Technical Disaster

Debbiee

@FatBeverly Yeah. There are multiple things in Arkham Knight that acknowledge the events of Arkham Origins including Anarky, Firefly, Deathstroke and The Electrocutioner and you can even find The Electrocutioner's Shock Gloves (but can't use them) and see the area that was New Gotham including the Gotham Royal Hotel and Gotham Pioneer's Bridge in the background.

Re: Review: Batman: Arkham Trilogy (Switch) - Two Solid Ports, One Technical Disaster

Debbiee

@russell-marlow Arkham Origins does work on modern consoles. I have been playing it on X Box Series X and it was one of the games they made backwards compatible. If it was a music license issue they wouldn't have been able to make it backwards compatible since music rights prevented other games from being made backwards compatible too.

Also other games that have sold far less than Arkham Origins have been re-released. While it is true it didn't sell as well as the other Arkham games it still sold relatively well and was the 11th highest selling game of 2013.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Comments On The Possibility Of A Playable Zelda In The Future

Debbiee

@Axecon The lack of underwater exploration in Tears of the Kingdom was one of the most disappointing things for me too especially since I heard Breath of the Wild was originally going to have underwater exploration and they created additional Divine Beasts which included two that were underwater but they cut them out due to time.

I would have preferred underwater exploration much more than The Depths.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Comments On The Possibility Of A Playable Zelda In The Future

Debbiee

@johnedwin Could be less since the creators of Hyrule Warriors said a third game is very likely to get made based on the success of Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity. Age of Calamity was the biggest selling Warriors game ever made and one of the biggest selling games on Switch. I would love a sequel based in the alternate timeline where Mipha, Revali, Urbosa and Daruk live and they could play out the events of Tears of the Kingdom again with Ganondorf returning but with the original champions helping Link and Zelda defeat him.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Debbiee

@Ryu_Niiyama Yeah. I totally agree. There are a lot of awesome female superheroes with interesting stories and unique powers that often get overlooked in favour of male superheroes 'cause incels get insecure every time they are brought up and it is only now we are finally getting a Wonder Woman video game after years of Batman, Spider-Man and Superman video games and Wonder Woman has a lot of great villains of her own such as Circe, Medusa, Silver Swan, Cheetah, Giganta, Doctor Poison, Hypnota, Veronica Cale, Blue Snowman etc they can easily make a game with the whole lot of them like the Arkham games did with Batman villains and it was actually Wonder Woman who was the first to have a team of villains after her with Villainy Inc long before the Sinister Six but there are haters complaining over it and saying it should be a Flash or Green Lantern game and nobody cares about Wonder Woman and she is lame.🙄

The Mary Sue accusations for female superheroes are annoying too because they do a lot of the same things with male superheroes but incels overlook that and it is only when it is the character is female they want them to follow a strict set of rules because powerful female characters make them insecure.

Re: Random: Explore Hyrule In First-Person With This Zelda: TOTK Glitch

Debbiee

I remember somebody found a way to do that in Breath of the Wild too but they also found a way to play it in invisible mode and they were able to explore Hyrule without any enemies seeing them including Lynels and I think it would be fun to be able to do that in Tears of the Kingdom 'cause you could go around exploring and collecting things without having to worry about scary monsters coming out to get you like the Gloom Hands. 😅

Re: Sonic Frontiers Latest Update Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Debbiee

It is a fun game and I have spent a lot of hours playing it since I got it last year and would recommend to people who like Sonic 3D games and Open World games but I don't think it is the best Sonic 3D game even though it has been the biggest selling one and most critically praised one and I still like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations the most. I also think Tails, Amy and Knuckles should have been available to play as from the start and not DLC but I am looking forward to the sequel and I am happy they are FINALLY going to include more Sonic characters as playable characters in it 'cause too many popular characters like Cream, Rouge, Vector, Charmy Bee, Espio and Blaze have been left out of the main games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Debbiee

@UltimateOtaku91 Thank you for the kind words and I am sorry to hear about your partner's experiences too. There are some really disgusting and vile guys in the gaming community and I have had guys target me and send me photos of their privates on private messages and literally threaten they were going to attack me and rape me because I disagreed with the things they wrote and knew more about certain games than they did and there was even a guy that got ahold of photos of me and my family off Facebook and posted them on the forum and he threatened he was going to go after them if I didn't send nude photos of myself to him and he knew where we lived the Admin there deleted him but he kept coming back with new profiles using different IP Addresses and I left after a few months because it become too stressful and I didn't feel safe anymore and I stopped writing on forums for a long time after that but looking back now I shouldn't have had to 'cause gaming is for everybody and we should all be able to enjoy playing games and write about them.

This is one of the first gaming sites I have posted on since then and I am glad to say my experience here has been a positive one and people have been a lot friendlier but I am far less trusting of people online than I used to be and I no longer use social media sites.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Debbiee

@Ryu_Niiyama Yes. It is like female superheroes and movies and TV Shows and even though they have had female superheroes in comic books for decades and a lot of them have had their own series there are incels that have meltdowns over the slightest suggestions of them getting their own movies and TV Shows now and claim it is being forced on them and is the companies being woke. 🙄

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Debbiee

@LadyCharlie Yeah. The gaming community sadly seems to attract some of the worst people out there whether it be incels, homophobes, transphobes and racists and some of them will go out of their way to bully and harass you nonstop and I have had some send me photos of their privates on private messages and threaten to attack me and rape me and there was one guy a few years ago that posted photos of me and my family he got from my old Facebook account even though I didn't post the link to it on that forum and he said he knew where we lived and he was going to go after the people that were close to me unless I sent him naked photos of myself and the Admin deleted his account but he found ways to come back again and kept going and I ended up leaving because I had enough of him and I didn't feel safe.

I am sorry to hear you have had bad experiences too and gaming is something everybody should be able to enjoy and we shouldn't have to put up with people like that.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Debbiee

The toxic fandoms that go with the games. Gamergate was a good example and incels still make up a large percentage of male gamers who think games should only be for them. I can say from personal experience I have faced more sexism and Lesbiaphobia over the years in the gaming community than any other community.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Batman: Arkham Trilogy

Debbiee

This is why realistic looking games don't belong on the Switch and should stay on X Box and Playstation. Some People act like this is shocking now but Nintendo has always been home to cartoonish looking games like Mario, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Splatoon etc that are mainly aimed at a younger audience.

That is just what Nintendo Consoles are and most people who grew up playing them have known that for a long time and we like cartoonish looking games and don't want a Mario that looks like a real person because it wouldn't be the same. If you want realistic looking games buy an X Box or Playstation.

Re: The Pokémon Company Will Share More Details On Scarlet & Violet - The Indigo Disk Tomorrow

Debbiee

Looking forward to it.

I was glad we got Vulpix in The Teal Mask along with Clefairy, Chimchar, Jirachi, Piplup, Cutiefly and Turtwig and I am looking forward to seeing what other Pokemon they bring back for The Indigo Disk DLC. They need to spend more time working on creating more new cute Pokemon though because the newest additions we got The Teal Mask and the ones I have seen that are going to debut in The Indigo Disk are pretty disappointing.

Re: Zelda Movie Director Wants Film To Feel Like "Live-Action Miyazaki"

Debbiee

@Vil The thing is Legend of Zelda is for children. Shigeru Miyamoto said it earlier this year when he was talking about Tears of the Kingdom. People of all ages can enjoy the games and there is nothing wrong with that but their target audience when they are making the games is children. This is why there is no blood and guts in the games and why you can't decapitate monsters or cut their arms and legs off despite hitting them multiple times with swords and other sharp objects which looks very unrealistic as I mentioned in my post above.

If they want to make the movie for an adult audience they are going to have to change that and make it far more violent and graphic like the Resident Evil movies and Live Action is the way to go for that because a lot of people still see animated movies as being for children as you said.

Re: Zelda Movie Director Wants Film To Feel Like "Live-Action Miyazaki"

Debbiee

If there is one thing they really need to change in the movie it is they make it Link can actually fight and punch and kick. He is supposed to be a warrior but he couldn't be more useless in the games the second he runs out of weapons. lol

He should have a whole variety of moves he can do without needing a weapon. Also swords should be able to decapitate monsters. One of the most unrealistic things in the games is how you can hit monsters multiple times with swords and other sharp objects without even really damaging them and making them bleed.

Re: Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong Country Expansion Opening Spring 2024

Debbiee

@MsJubilee I would love to see what they could do with a 3D Donkey Kong video game now after how many years ago Donkey Kong 64 came out. Donkey Kong 64 is one of my fav video games of all time and I was disappointed we didn't get a sequel to it and they don't use Lanky Kong anymore 'cause he was fun to play as.

Bring back Lanky Kong!!!!!!

Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game

Debbiee

@jmvalone It took 24 years for another Wonder Boy game to be made and The Cursed Kingdom is considered by many fans to be one of the best Wonder Boy games ever made and it not only stayed true to The Dragon's Trap and brought back a lot of the elements from it that made it popular in the first place including new versions of the classic songs, new areas based on areas from the original game and the ability to transform into different creators again but it put a modern twist on the series that made it feel like a new game.

If a studio can bring back Wonder Boy they could bring back Banjo Kazooie. They just don't want to.

Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game

Debbiee

@fenlix If they were serious they would get the teams that made A Hat In Time or New Super Lucky's Tale. Two of the most praised recent 3D Platformers that were heavily inspired by Banjo Kazooie. A Hat In Time was amazing. One of the best 3D Platformers I have ever played.

Re: Sega Appears To Be Teasing A Game Awards Surprise

Debbiee

@Moffo Around the time it was announced to be the biggest selling Sonic 3D game of all time. One of the main creators said they are planning on including more Sonic characters in it too that weren't in the first game and with the addition of Rouge and Cream being one of the most praised thing about Sonic Dream Team I could see them being included along with Shadow and possibly Charmy Bee, Blaze and Vector.

Here are some of the articles about it.

Sega is already working on the next Sonic the Hedgehog game. Director Morio Kishimoto revealed as such on Twitter, and offered an interesting glimpse at Sega's plans for the future. Apparently, the next game in the series will put an emphasis on multiple playable characters, and Sega is looking to expand and refine the "open zones" that were introduced in Sonic Frontiers. Interestingly, Sonic Team wants to avoid overusing classic Sonic locations, such as Green Hill Zone, and Chemical Plant Zone.

Kishimoto's desire to add additional playable characters is not all that surprising. The director is a huge fan of the Sonic Adventure games, which put a big focus on Sonic's supporting cast. While Sonic Frontiers only lets players control the blue blur, a free DLC update for the game coming this year will add more playable characters. Despite this, Kishimoto wants to focus on making good single-player games, though multiplayer games are not totally off the table.

The combat in Sonic Frontiers took inspiration from the Sonic live-action films, and it seems Kishimoto wants to continue to add more depth to the combat. The director also wasn't quite happy with the way in which the story was handled in Frontiers, and wants to improve on that, while also giving players greater insights into the characters.

All in all, these comments are very interesting! Sonic Frontiers actually performed quite well for Sega, selling more than 2.5 million copies, and earned fairly strong reviews. Despite that success, it seems the company is still looking at what they can improve, and how they can make things more enjoyable for both longtime fans, and those just starting to play the games after seeing the Paramount movies. Five years passed between the release of Sonic Forces and Sonic Frontiers, so it will likely be some time before we get to see how things shake out!

https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/sonic-frontiers-director-next-sonic-the-hedgehog-game-plans/

Sonic Frontiers Invicinibility

Sonic Frontiers has sold 3.5 million copies, making it the most successful 3D Sonic game of all time. This figure is enough to overtake the last figure we got for Sonic Heroes, which had reigned supreme on the charts for almost 20 years.

Re: Sega Appears To Be Teasing A Game Awards Surprise

Debbiee

@epicgamner I loved Sonic Generations too and being able to replay the levels from older Sonic games in 2D and 3D was fun and there were a lot of other levels that were left out I think would be good to include in a sequel.

They could also make it that we get to play as Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Cream, Vector and other characters this time too.

Re: Sega Appears To Be Teasing A Game Awards Surprise

Debbiee

Most likely Sonic Generations 2, another Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing game or a Switch port of Sonic Dream Team since a lot of fans are complaining about it not being on video game consoles. They already announced Sonic Frontiers 2 but I would like to see new games of Alex Kidd, Wonder Boy, Dynamite Dux or Ecco the Dolphin (3D). Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy never got the 3D treatment like so many other franchises did.

With the right creators and writers a 3D open world Wonder Boy game similar to Breath of the Wild could be fun but make it like The Dragon's Trap and The Cursed Kingdom where you can transform into different creatures with different abilities.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 2nd)

Debbiee

I am currently replaying Tears of the Kingdom for the first time in a few months after giving up on it and I have been enjoying it more the second time around than the first and have been able to complete more shrines and get more hearts. I'm also playing Barton Lynch Pro Surfing, New Super Lucky's Tale and Ikenfell.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Debbiee

@Fangleman32 There is a Wonder Woman game in development now and I have been really looking forward to it 'cause they have had multiple Batman and Superman games out but never one of Wonder Woman and there are so many Wonder Woman villains they could use like Circe, Silver Swan, Medusa, Cheetah, Giganta, Decay, Doctor Poison etc they could make it like the Arkham games and have Wonder Woman face the whole lot of them and also have the Wonder Girls (Donna Troy and Cassie Sandsmark) as playable characters.

I would love Birds Of Prey and Teen Titans games too with the full rosters.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Fans Zelda Is Up For Nomination At This Year's Game Awards

Debbiee

I have been playing 'Tears of the Kingdom' again for the first time in months after giving up playing it and have been enjoying it more the second time around but I still don't like it as much as 'Breath of the Wild' and I think they should have had an easy mode with less villains and easier to defeat Lynels, Gleeoks and Gloom Hands or brought back the Ancient Arrows and made it that you could get rid of Gleeoks and Gloom Hands with them too.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Debbiee

I would prefer a second compilation with Arkham Origins, Arkham Origins: Blackgate and the Cold, Cold Heart DLC. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City have already been re-released and they had the 'Return to Arkham' collection not long ago that had newer and improved graphics but 'Arkham Origins' and 'Arkham Origins: Blackgate' aren't easy to get anymore and while 'Arkham Origins' works on the X Box Series X the 'Cold, Cold Heart' DLC does not and neither does Arkham Origins: Blackgate.

With WB Games Montréal working on the next Batman game and 'Gotham Knights' not being as successful as they hoped they could make an 'Arkham Origins 2' that bridges the large gap between 'Arkham Origins: Blackgate' and 'Arkham Asylum' that lets us play as Batman, Robin (Dick Grayson) and Batgirl and focuses on Dr Harleen Quinzel's transformation into Harley Quinn, Harvey Dent's transformation into Two Face and Dr Pamela Isley's transformation into Poison Ivy. They could also feature some of the villains they didn't have in the other Arkham games but had profiles for like Killer Moth, Prometheus, Great White Shark, Ratcatcher etc and have a huge map with all the areas from the previous games and the addition of Bludhaven.

Re: Sonic Superstars' Sales Were 'Slightly Weaker' Than Sega Had Anticipated

Debbiee

@AlienX Amy will be back in Sonic Frontiers 2. The difference between Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers is Sega sees Sonic Frontiers as a success since it was the biggest selling Sonic 3D game of all time and the most critically praised Sonic 3D game of all time which is why they confirmed a sequel was in development. One of the main creators of 'Sonic Frontiers' said he has plans to use more Sonic characters in the sequel too and seeing though the addition of Cream and Rouge being in 'Sonic Dream Team' has been one of the most praised things in the game both are likely to be in the 'Sonic Frontiers' sequel too along with the likes of Shadow, Vector, Blaze, Espio and Charmy Bee.

Nothing against Mighty the Armadillo, Ray the Flying Squirrel and Fang the Hunter but they are nowhere near as popular as characters like Cream, Rouge, Shadow, Vector, Blaze, Espio, Tikal and Charmy Bee.

Re: Soapbox: It's The Port I've Dreamed Of, But Can Switch Deliver The Batman We Need?

Debbiee

I love the 'Arkham' series and have played the games multiple times over the years and I am glad to see they are getting a release on Switch so people who don't have other consoles get a chance to play them for the first time but I am pretty disappointed they didn't include 'Arkham Origins' in the collection (especially when they are trying to promote it as a complete package when it is not) because that is one of my favs and I would love to see that get a remake like they done for 'Arkham Asylum' and 'Arkham City' in the 'Return to Arkham' collection with modern graphics 'cause I loved the design of the city and the Christmas theme.

With the 'Arkham' series still very popular among fans and getting so many remakes they should make another game. 'Gotham Knights' is fun and I love being able to play as Batgirl but it is just not as good as the 4 Arkham games and is lacking with some things.
