I have my issues with Skyward sword, but at least I eventually beat it. I can not say the same with Majora's Mask and its timer and near impossible water temple. That is the only 3d Zelda game that ended with my throwing the control and rage quitting. Skyward I did get frustrated and I did throw the controller but it was because I didn't have the safety strap on.

@KillerBOB This article is talking about Nintendo dealing with race and gender inequality internally. Which by looking at their company stats they still have some work to do (hence the report).

That being said I would love to see a kickass company founded by black woman making the next F-Zero game! That's a great idea and would provide inspiration to a lot of people out there.

It was a very hard choice between Metroid and Advance Wars! Sure I am a die hard Zelda fan and loved loved BoTW but a update was more of less expected. Between Metroid and Advance Wars it came down to expectations and sheer amount of hours played.

Because of 1-2 combo of leaks and constant speculation of when Prime 4 and the Prime collection would come out made me a little less shocked about the Dread announcement.

When they played that music and had the text about Orange Star, I was shouting No Way No Way No Way! And then it was suddenly very way! I was cheering and shaking my poor 4 year old in excitement.

I Love both Metroid and Advance wars but I have spent so many hours playing and replaying all the advance wars games, making my own makes and playing hot seat with my friends. The series has provided 100s of hours of entertainment to otherwise boring car trips, waits for car repairs or breaks/lunches at work. Metroid's for me are one and dones. Granted that's after finding all the stuff typically but they are not super lengthy games.
That being said I am getting them all!!

@mjharper I am in the same boat! I started with Metroid Prime(s) and my first 2d was Fusion and then Zero mission and then Samus Returns (Orignal) then Samus Returns remake. Lastly I have finally got around to playing Super but keep getting stuck in the middle and moving to other games. I have restarted the game at least 3-4 times because that seems easier then trying to figure out what I need to do where ever I am at.

So Exciting, I personally love the new look. Personally glad they didn't go the Tiny Metal route. I am hoping this is a gateway for more AW games and more partnerships to get out some of the other dormant IPs in big Ns catalog (cough, cough F-Zero, Golden Sun and etc).

This was such amazing surprise! Not just a lazy port either. They took the time to rebuild it in the new 3d FE engine so I can only hope that this is just a primer for a new AW game!

Oh my... I was so happy when they finally announced a new 2.5 Metroid that I thought to myself that everything else was gravy. Then Advance Wars!!!! I was literally shaking my poor kids back in forth in excitment. Been burning prayers at the altars of Nintendo Intelligent games for years to get a new one of these. Now the fact that it's a remaster did damper the joy a bit, however look at that new glorious 3d engine! If they didnt have plans for future games they would have shipped them as ports like they did previously on Wii U or like they last year with FE. Assuming it does well enough we can expect a new game in the future! Then the true icing of the cake was the Zelda announcements and seeing some new BOTW 2! Did anyone else get some Skyward Sword vibes?? Not the game and watch is... fine I guess but would have enjoyed an all stars collection more. They game and watches seem lazy but will still probably get. Missing was Bayonetta 3, was expecting something, anything about that game. Also Metroid Prime 4 however they did at least address it's absence.
Overall very awesome! With all that was on display maybe a new F-Zero is on the way too! May for this New Switch that will be announced sometime this fall.

I missed out on some of the best rewards, like the game and watch, hanafuda cards, and the mario statue. I ended up with zelda posters, a mario button set, sound tracks, coins, and cards. I also got a zelda puzzle and bag but by favorite is the zelda game case pictured above. It was and still is useful and has a great art.

I wonder what kinds of games can be built with Game Builder Garage. I am sure a new F-Zero would be out of the question but maybe Advance Wars would be "simple" enough.

@sleepinglion Thanks for the well thought replies! Glad to see that it's not something pitchforky. Have you seen the movie called Room that she is in from 2015? Its pretty much the opposite of Captain Marvel as far as acting range (and everything else).

@sleepinglion What is the beef with Brie Larson anyways? I have seen a number of people complain about her being Captain Marvel as well. I have seen some of her movies (including Captain Marvel) and as a person seems of the decent sort.

Having preordered the physical release and played the vanilla sans any major updates (besides the day 1 patch) I think it was fine. I enjoyed myself. I then looked at the other versions and cried a little. The second game will probably on a beefer Pro version or maybe a completely new system so here's hoping it works well!

If they announce at least one of these things I will be content:

Metroid 4 - solid release date next year with something to show

@Low_ink and if you play it on the switch lite you are definitely defeating the purpose as everything the switch stands for. I guess there are a couple people out there who A) play primarily at home, B) have a PC (or other powerful console) C) have played the other Hitman games and D) want to play the new one on the toilet and/or bed. Now if they offered the previous ones and cross saves...

Frankly though, I would take really anything at this point as long is its well executed.

The twilight princess manga series is still going and has a decent amount of books under its belt. They could definitely start there.

I might be in the minority but I didn't even know or remember that there was a Max Payne GBA game. Looked it up and man it looks rough but reviewed not horribly. Makes we think that Nintendo fans have been indoctrinated to accept inferior ports for a very long time.

This score is right on the nose. It was 7/10 to 8/10 when it launched in 2012 and if you account for then not really doing anything of any real substance to enhance it - 6/10. I for one was never into the wow like graphics and world/ NPC design. The combat is the only thing that is interesting in this game.

When a game says specifically you need to be certain much higher level then you currently are to continue the story and you have a choice of mindless killing of things or mindless fetching of things for hours. Looking at you Xenoblade Chronicles X and Golden Country!

Yes, thank you! I hate pointless, tedious grinding to reach that next arbitrary level requirement to continue the story! My list of biggest offenders of recent Nintendo systems are: Xenoblade Chronicles series (particiularly X and the golden country stand alone expansion to 2), pokemon and Fire Emblem.

XenoBlade Chronicles X - I really tried to love you, with our cool scifi story and mech simulator. I even got your collector's edition for my birthday and poured tons of my hard earned free time trying to play you. Unlike your older sister game that I got used at the tail end of the wii's life cycle with a bunch of other games; You came right out in the middle of a game draught after much hype. Allas the honey moon ended right after the starting cutscenes.

I fought through the endless menus and poorly explained game systems and endured the truly awful music of New LA. I just couldn't scale your steep grind walls of the game story. Your constant teasing of owning mechs fascinated and frustrated me into searching for X/Y/Z quest items for hours upon hours. I just couldn't do it anymore. You broke me.

If we are to have a relationship again, things would need to change for the better. Maybe you can learn from your younger sister game, though she still suffers from some of the same things.You need to respect my time and not forcibly extend the game via level and grind quests gates. Also please simplify and better explain... everything you got going on. Also give access to mechs after a few hours not 40+ hours.

If you can do those things Maybe maybe we can get back to speaking terms.

Just in case anyone is on the fence about this game. It is a MMORPG without other people. Like if you took WoW and balanced it for singleplayer. You have all the !'s you can handle and more cartoony graphics then you can shake gnome at. It also ruined everyone who was involved with its development and pissed off a whole US state. The story of the game development is frankly more entertaining then the game it's self.

Dude that sucked. My Heart hurts for you. The only equivalency I can think of is begging and pleading for something for x-mas the entire year like n64 only to get a ***** used tiger handheld game. And you can't even rage about it because your parents are watching and expecting you to be excited.

Bought the original on a buy two get one free deal on the Wii U forever ago and have not touched it - I played the demo on both the Wii U and and Switch but something about this one always made me lethargic about playing it. Seeing it on sale keeps tempting me but I also got a million other games waiting on the wings including
Tokyo Mirage Sessions™ #FE Encore which is another game I got for the Wii U back in the day (in that same buy 2 get one free deal actually) but got deciently far into and always thought it deserved a new life on switch.

I got the OG charcoal N64 the x-mas it came out since it was the only option however I got the green controller. Years later when I saw the Jungle green one I wanted it so badly but couldn't justify getting it just for the color. Then my best friend at the time bought it on a lark - was so jealous! Even to this day I will not get a new system just because of color - it needs to have some kind of improvement to justify. The Link between worlds two tone gold and black 3ds lx is probably still my favorite

as someone who played the game (mostly) to completion on the Wii U everything depends how much content bower's fury add and what other updates/ improvements were made on the base game. Either way, this would be a sale game at best.

I see surprising amount of people complaining about the demo being limited - its demo and it's free and its suppose to convince you to pay the full game not be a full game itself.

I personally could never get into these games after trying the demo on the 3ds and the wii u. the controls was very clunky and unwieldy to me. The premise of the game seemed to be every monster is a boss fight like experience. I could be totally off base with that but either way nothing pulled me in.

That being said a free experience is a free experience and maybe something might grab me this time, though the stories spin off seem more my speed.

Being a 38 year old husband with two 4 year olds and having other time consuming hobbies (like dnd, board games) I am exactly the same boat. I am also in the same boat as a lot of gamers who have way more games than time. My back log is huge and growing because I hate to miss out on good deals and in my mind if I least own the game I am still participating in my favorite hobby. So for every game I manage to get to the ending I feel a huge victory.

With that said I have recently been trying to finish a number of games that I got stuck on and then dropped for other games by switching to the easiest setting. Before it felt like cheating or that I was giving up because my single gamer friends look down on playing on easy and always make a point to talk about how they beat the game on the hardest difficulty with iron man etc etc. Like in the article, there are still some games I will do hard or greater, like Divinity Original Sin 2, I will play it with the difficulty cranked all the way up with lone wolf. However I won't touch Dark souls for the same reason given in the article. Then there are games like Dragon Quest and xenoblade chronicles which are not hard games but I switch on easy so I can get through the games faster by eliminating the need for grinding.

I hate when games waste my time with boring tasks which is why I don't do MMRPGs. My time to game is after I get the kids to bed and hung out with my wife a bit or at the ass end of the day. If The game I am playing isn't engaging I am going to start to fall asleep or wonder why I am not doing something else. Perfect example is in Dragon Quest XI I am in a part of the game where I am supposed to aimlessly wonder the map looking for quest items with minimal guidance. Which I found one and now stuck on how to find the other so I moved to other games. I just don't want to spend the time questing for this stuff either in game or on the internet when I have other games to play. Xenoblade Chronicles is worse, much much worse I have only beaten 1/3 of games. Which hasn't stopped me from buying new ones. More Money then time and more impulse the restraint.

These are specifically the games that fill the discount or budget bins in places that have not business selling video games like clothing or grocery stores.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus! May double tip on this because I am always a sucker for War hammer and Xcom games. Paper Mario seems interesting but the previous two I played (Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star) went from neat to frustrating. I think Nintendo's mandate for Mario games (most of their franchises actually) is that it needs a new gimmick each new game. For these PM titles its a new battle system each time. I wish they created a Fire emblem x Mario game. That would be a day one, maybe even smash bros x fire emblem to get all the franchises into the action.

I wonder how the announced king's bounty will stack up to this and HoMM

@XiaoShao I wish that Ubisoft would just port over some or all of the HoMM games period. Even a updated/ sequel for MM: Clash of heroes would be nice.

looks cool but I would have to carry all the accessories in a different case/bag. Also not sure how well this would handle a fall - would be nice if it had a metal clasp to keep it closed.

The last console version of Civ I played was Civ Revolution for the DS. Hopefully this one fairs better. Either way I am buying it.

at least it is way better then having to buy super overpriced memory cards just to save games. We have come a long way from those dark days.

I Feel like the price for the core system is okay, not great. 1 2 switch should be a pack in game, or at least some game, any game. The accessories all feel 5-15 dollars too expensive. The games like Bomberman should be 20 dollars. Everything is just a little too expensive right now for my tastes, but not by a lot. I feel like they increased the prices of the Switches hardware and accessories to makeup for costs from the bombing Wii U.
