I think this game appeals a lot to collectors and Yu Suzuki's fans, like me. The score is just as I expected and probably won't even open the game, I'll probably play it on a emulator and enjoy it as a collector's item. The fact that Yu Suzuki is still releasing games after decades is fantastic!
@StarPoint because people also enjoy games that not necessarily score great. I had a blast with this game, the world, gameplay and characters were fantastic!
Good review but weird to make one without mentioning Flashback and Another World, which I believe are the main inspirations. Even the main characters has similar clothing style to the protagonist of Flashback.
This is a particular case where I hate data miners (and gaming websites). This is, for me, considered a spoiler. Bye bye the surprise (which would have been great).
@mesome713 it is so easy to blame "lazy developers", but most of the time it has nothing to do with laziness and much more towards resources and budget dedicated towards a project. Adding motion controls its not a checkbox, it requires time = money.
@Rodan2000 It is completely normal to hire additional work force in any stage of a development project. Actually its more of a good sign than a bad one...
This is the first Zelda I regret buying. It´s a nice remake, of course, but its not a $60 game. BotW it´s a $60 game, DQ11 it´s a $60 game. This is a $40 game with VERY noticeable and distracting framerate issues. Honestly I don´t understand people who are not noticing this, it´s impossible not to. I suppose nostalgia and fanaticism are very powerful things.
Really liked the game, but the issues are very noticeable and it happens constantly. I would have preferred consistent 30fps than jumping from 30 to 60 all the time...
Different subject but related. This is not a $60 remake, this is a $40 game, no way this game is priced equally to BotW, a full open world game with 95% more content. As I said really liked the game but personally regret paying $60 for it (with technical issues).
I hate this type of sarcasm making fun of a game.."forget Mario Kart". Completely unnecessary and a disrespect to the developers that are working on it.
This is a $19.99 "remaster", clearly its not SE priority and resources dedicated to this project were limited. I think it looks very good for a $19 work in a VERY big game. People it´s almost impossible to please nowdays.
I have tried already in demo form 3 Tokyo RPG Factory games and I think officially their RPGs are not for me. They look nice but just feel too generic...
@Chunkboi79 Perhaps it´s because you´re good and a lot of people like are not? xD Im around 20 hours in the game and still haven´t seen the final boss...I feel a lot of longevity in the game because of this!
I was enjoying Okami but got kinda bored after 15 hours :-/ sure, it´s a lot like the old Zelda games, but perhaps that´s the problem? BoTW just changed everything about the old Zelda structure...
@Sabrewing sounds like a very good description, thank you very much!...well it´s just $20 for a game I´ve never played and entitled as a classic by a lot of people!
Not sure if this is for me honestly...wish they released a short demo. I loved old RE games but I don´t know if that is a good reference to know if this is going to like me...
@ViewtifulJotun hard to tell, but I would suggest to buy the first one. I really liked and enjoy the first, but I left 2 and 3 in wishlist. If you don´t like the first I´m sure you are not going to enjoy the others...gameplay wise they are almost the same.
@SwitchForce I know that man. I´m just saying is too expensive right now and if you read the comments is the general opinion. Perhaps the game would sell a lot more with a better price? We don´t know. Chill
I think I may be deaf or something lol I play a lot with headphones and I know it is not top sound quality, but for people to stop playing it because of this I don´t know....overreacting
I just landed to Anor Londo after 20 hours and loving it.
So...basically they wanted Nintendo to make all the marketing for them? This is very usual in a lot of other markets, they spent all of their money on other resources and they left almost none for marketing, hoping and having faith that with just spread of word it´s going to sell millions. I understand there are limited resources, not everyone can make a big campaign but you just can´t rest assured Nintendo is going to retweet your game...
@argh4430 I´m not salty man, I´m disappointed. Do you know what you get when it´s your birthday? Poor discounts in old games...that´s the kind of stuff I´m referring. Of course, I´m not expecting free games or 80% discounts, but those really don´t feel like "rewards", they feel like leftovers in a lot of cases.
Now those programs you mention wow...sounds terrible indeed!
Nintendo has by far one of the WORST loyalty programs I know, ever, and I´m not even talking about gaming industry only. I´ve been a Nintendo client for more than 20 years and seeing every month this kind of "rewards" it´s honestly, offensive.
Sony and Microsoft are miles and miles in front of Nintendo in this matter.
@Fake-E-Lee You´re not alone, I was so hyped and happy to finally play it and in the middle of the game I lost a lot of interest and began playing other stuff....however...I returned one month later and finish it and end up liking it a lot, but because of the characters and music.
I think at the end was because gameplay-wise is on the boring side...
@ConanLives oh man I thought I was the only one who missed that game...your description of HoD is perfect. It had some amazing animation work (still looks fantastic).
These games are not for everyone (trial and error) but if someone enjoys one, it would probably like also Flashback, HoD, Inside, Limbo and my personal fav: Prince of Persia
@Cobalt agree....I think this could be a great Pilotwings type of game, but these games are all about the physics...if this improves definitely it´s a buy for me.
